• Passing a enum value as a tag attribute in JSP

  I have a custom JSP tag which is using a parameter which is an enum. This approach is a consequence of using other classes which need this enumeration. The point is I have no clue how to assign an enum value in the EL: <mytaglib:mytag enumParam="${now what do I type here?}" /> The only workaround which I found so far was to make the enumParam an Integer and convert it to desired values: <mytaglib:mytag enumParam="3" /> I believe there must be a better way to do it. Please help.

• Gson serialization depending on field value

  I have a POJO that is similar to: public class MyGsonPojo { @Expose @SerializedName("value1") private String valueOne; @Expose @SerializedName("value2") private boolean valueTwo; @Expose @SerializedName("value3") private int valueThree; // Getters and other stuff here } The issue is that this object has to be serialized into a json body for a call to the server. Some fields are optional for the request and if I even send it with default and null values, the API responds differently (Unfortunately changing the api is not an option). So basically I need to exclude fields from serialization if any of them is set to a default value. For example if the field valueOne is null the resulting json should be: { "value2" : true, "value3" : 2 } Any idea how to make this a painless effort? I wouldn't want to build the json body manually. Any help would be great. Thank you in advice.

  Hi I have scenario, where there are html hidden fields, the page can be redirected to itself, with parameters, I have sessions too. Now depending on session value I want to set some hidden values, so that it can be picked up from javascript and can do certain operation. But, the problem is I have no idea about how to get/ set values into html controls using asp.net, and also do not know whether this is possible or not. Please note, it is imperative that I need some way to hold some data that can be set using asp.net and can be picked up by javascript.   I have a table of over 1 million test score records that basically have a unique score_ID, a subject_ID and a score given by a person. The score range for most subjects is 0-3, but some have a range of 0-4. There are about 25 possible subjects. I need to produce a score distribution report which looks like: subject_ID 0 1 2 3 4 ---------- --- --- --- --- --- 1 967 576 856 234 2 576 947 847 987 324 . . So it groups the data by subject_ID, then shows how many times a specific score value was given within that subject. Any SQL pointers to generate this would be greatly appreciated.

Through javascript, I get four variables (A, B, C, and D) that I would like to sort, and still keep track of the variable name (since it's encoded with meaning information). For example, if they type in "435p" and then focus off of the cell they get the message "The value you entered isn't valid for this field.". Instead, I want to trap a pre-validationevent and change it to "4:35pm" for them. What event can I use? I've tried: LostFocus & BeforeUpdate: too late (validation fires before event) Dirty & OnChange: too early (they haven't left the cell yet) Or is there a way to turn off the native validation rule that is checking for date formats?

• Get the checked value of 2 sets of radiobuttons using jQuery

  Im having a weird issue here. Its probably just something stupid but I dont see it. I have two sets of radiobuttons, group1 and group2, and I want to get their values in a function. I have 1 clickevent on all radiobuttons in that div and when I click them I want to display the check-values of both groups. But he only reads the value of the first group. and so it always displays 1-1 2-2 3-3 4-4 instead of possibly 1-2 3-1 etc.... There is a jsfiddle here what am I missing??

At first, I thought that perhaps returning nil in a function with a particular return type would just return an instance of a zero-value for that type. But then I tried a simple test and that is not the case. Does anybody know why would nil return an empty string slice?

  I have a field called Timestamp, that stores its values as text as opposed to an actual Timestamp. The logging application is unchangeable, unfortunately. So table.Timestamp -> text field with format -> "Wed Mar 02 13:28:59 CDT 2011" I have been developing a query to purge all but the most recent row using this as my Timestamp selector, which is also converting the string into a date - MAX( STR_To_DATE( table.Timestamp , '%a %b %d %H:%i:%s CDT %Y' ) My query works perfectly... However, what I've found is that the string value - 'CDT' - changes between 'CDT' and 'CST' depending on whether the current time is daylight savings time or not. During daylight savings time, it logs as 'CDT', and vice versa. So all the rows that contain 'CST' get ignored when I run this - MAX( STR_To_DATE( table.Timestamp , '%a %b %d %H:%i:%s CDT %Y' ) and all the rows that contain 'CDT' get ignored when I run this - MAX( STR_To_DATE( table.Timestamp , '%a %b %d %H:%i:%s CST %Y' ) Is there a way to make it run against both string formats?

Of course I can feed the values to the final method ( "LIMIT %d ", page*RECORDS_PER_PAGE ) but it's neither pretty nor efficient. It's times like this when I wish the preprocessor didn't treat strings in a special way and would process their content just like normal code. For now, I cludged it with #define RECORDS_PER_PAGE_TXT "10" but understandably, I'm not happy about it. How to get it right?
