I'm editing an XML file with the Eclipse IDE and need to input paragraphs of text. It doesn't seem that eclipse has a line-wrap feature though. Anyone knows if it does or if there's a plugin for that?
Hi everyone,
I have recently heard a lot of people argue about using PHP testing features like PHPunit and SimpleTest together with their IDE of choice (Eclipse for me). After googling the subject, I have still a hard time understanding the pros and cons of using these testing frameworks to speed up development.
If anyone could explain this for me in a more basic level, I would really appreciate it. I am using PHP5 for the notice.
Thanks a lot!
g++ compiler complains about conversions between related types (from int to enum, from void* to class*, from const char* to unsigned char*, etc.). Compiler handles such convertions as errors and won't compile furthermore. It occurs only when I compile using Dev-C++ IDE, but when I compile the same code (using the compiler which Dev-C++ uses) such errors (even warnings) do not appears.
How to mute errors of such types?
In Eclipse, if you press CTRL+1, the cursor is set on the first error and there the IDE presents you some solutions. In IDEA, you press ALT+ENTER for some solutions, but I don't know how to make the cursor to go to the error.
Is there any equivalent of the VS7/8/9/10 Edit - Advanced - Format Document (Ctrl+K,Ctrl+D) function in the Visual Basic 6 IDE?
I've inherited an old codebase and it is messy in places so I'd like to tidy it up.
I'm currently using Vim as a lightweight IDE. I have NERDTree, bufexplorer, supertab, and ctags plugins which do almost everything I want. Only big thing missing for me is auto code formatting.
I'm working with some messy PHP code which has inconsistent indenting and code formatting, ideally I could highlight the code I want formatted (whole files would be fine too) and run a command to tidy it.
Does anybody have a nice solution for this working in Vim?
Hi,
I'm trying to get Gallio running some existing NUnit tests but they're not showing in Gallio. The assembly loads into Gallio fine and I can run them fine via Resharper within the VS IDE.
I created a really simple NUnit test in VS and this also doesn't show so I know it's not something weird in my existing tests.
Any ideas?
I want to make some 2d games that I may want to submit to a game site, such as newgrounds.com. Even if I decide not to submit, I'd still like to know which is a better choice.
Which has a faster startup time?
Which performs faster in a 2d game?
Which IDE should I use?
Thanks in advance!
Hello
i have tried meassuring the analogpin value using the provided standard sketch in the arduino IDE. But even when there is no connection to the pin, it prints out random values. is there anything that has to be taken care of?
i have a FSR sensor connected from 5V+ to analog ping 0
I've seen lots of MEF code for plugging into custom apps, but I am yet to find out how to write a plugin for VS2010 using MEF. I was under the impression that the new IDE supported this.
Does anyone have any links, tips, etc?
I just installed NetBeans, and want to try it out. Some context tips (popup javadoc stuff) work, but nothing detailed. It says "Javadoc not found...".
However, I use Eclipse (my current IDE) and it has no problem showing detailed context tips.
Do I HAVE to download the 100+mb zip file to get the javadoc, or can I have Netbeans point to whatever Eclipse is already aware of?
How do I get vim to place the cursor within the braces starting on a new line, ie with | denoting the cursor position :
class {
|
}
right now with my settings it only does this
class {
|}
I got this in my .vimrc file
set autoindent shiftwidth=2 tabstop=2 noexpandtab
Basically I just want how a normal IDE would indent it.
update:
I found how to do this with inoremap { {<CR>}<Esc>O
if IDE by default adding ; at end. should i remove?
selector {property:value;property:value;property:value;property:value;}
I read on an article semicolon not required at end.
Hi,
I just tested MaintainJ Eclipse plugin and I find it very useful for reverse engineering sequence diagrams.
However, I use IntelliJ in my projects so I was just wondering either a similar plugin exists for my favourite IDE.
Thanks !
I want install TurboPower Abbrevia 3.05 from http://sourceforge.net/projects/tpabbrevia/ but its not working. :(
docu says:
_4. Open & compile the runtime package specific to the IDE being
used (e.g. B305vr2007.dpk for Delphi2007)
Start C++Builder2009 - "Open Project..", select "B305vr2009.dpk" and click "open", but nothing happen. What is my mistake?
I want to start learning C++, so I downloaded Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express, and the entire application freezes and crashes every time I try to compile (debug and release build) something (I have tried running it in Admin Mode). Is there a good alternative compiler that I could still use VS 2010 as the IDE?
when debugging code which's called recursively many times, sometimes it gets difficult to realize which execution of the code you are seeing. Is there any IDE graphic tool which helps to see that with diagrams or something?
Hi,
I have two servers where I installed SQL Server 2008
Production: RAID 1 on SCSI disks
Test: IDE disk
When I try to execute a script with about 35.000 inserts, on the test server I need 30 sec and instead on the production server more than 2 min!
Does anybody know why such difference? I mean, the DB is configured in the same way and the production server has also a RAID config, a better processor and memory...
THANKS!
Hello. I created a python project in IDE Anjuta, added some python files and the problem follows.
I need that would make the program after a few .py files lying in src copied to dir /usr/bin. Anjuta generates enormous configure- and makefiles. 'll Show you need to register and where that would make described above.
Thank you.
A co-worker of mine had downloaded a vb example project a while back to see how to make a call or two, he discovered it today again, and noticed that while sitting in the IDE the time/date is updating automatically when the entire project is not even running.
How does this work, we looked around for code but can't find anything giving it away.
Any ideas?
I've got a cocoa application that reads in a text file. I'd like to display that text in a multi-line label, but I for the life of me can't figure it out. I opened up my .nib file and poped a multi-line label down but after that I'm stuck.
I don't have any experience working with XCode or Cocoa, mostly Eclipse, Visual Studio, and pretty much every other IDE except XCode which seems very foreign.
Hi,
I use Vim as primary IDE for programming, with some plugins i have a good environment but for a single point: debugging.
I have recompiled Vim to use vimgdb, and it works, but the problem is that i need to attach to a process started by a root user so i have to use sudo to do it....
How can i do this with vimgdb?
Thanks in advance.
I used code:blocks as the C++ IDE on Windows. I switched to netbeans 6.8 (with C/C++ plugin, MinGW, MSYS) recently, because netbeas have the nice feature of "checking syntax errors when typing" (same as working on Java or PHP projects).
But the painful thing is that, it takes 2 seconds to compile a simple hello world project in netbeans. Any trick to make it as fast as code:blocks, or at least make the compiling time no more than 0.5 second?
I want to start using Python for small projects but the fact that a misplaced tab or indent can throw a compile error is really getting on my nerves. Is there some type of setting to turn this off?
I'm currently using NotePad++. Is there maybe an IDE that would take care of the tabs and indenting?
