If both files in the Source folder,java file shows source and design view in IDE. If I delete the Demo.form in source folder,The Design view doesn't show. I have only Demo.java file,How can i generate the Demo.form ? please can u help me urgent

    I've only ever learned to "program" with notepad when I was learning to create batch files in Windows. I would appreciate if you can explain to me the benefits of working with an IDE over a text editor or vice versa. Please don't give emotional responses or argue someone else's suggestion/advice. I use Linux primarily. Also, I would like to be able to make programs that can be used in Windows, but programmed in Linux. Thanks.

    I'm playing with a simple string replacement editor for editing VB.Net functions outside of VB. Is there a way to apply VB.Net code formatting to a string? For example. The txtboxCodeEntry looks like this: If strVar="dummy" then 1 else 0 Endif I would like it to "autoformat" to: If strVar = "dummy" Then 1 Else 0 End If The formatting would match whatever formatting VB.Net does when you're editing code in the Visual Studio IDE.     I've read a lot of stuff about VS2010 being much more performant than VS2008. When I've finally installed it, I found that it, in fact, is much slower (save for the Add References dialog). For instance, Silverlight projects take twice as long to load, the startup of the IDE itself is much slower, etc... Am I missing something here or is it like this for everyone?

    The reason I ask this is that c# could easily have copied the java convention, or a variation of it, but opted for the more flexible approach of explicitly declaring namespaces inside files. As a Java programmer often there are things that I wish I could do differently, but namespaces is not one of them. The flexbility has a certain overhead (extra braces, extra decisions for developers, making it harder to view a projects contributions to the namespace, at least without a specialist IDE). So what practical examples are there when this flexiblity is advantageous?
