• Using a macro for fstream file input as part of a class

- by vette982
I have a class that processes a file, and as part of the constructor with one argument I want to input a file using fstream. I basically want it do something like this class someClass{ public: someClass(char * FILENAME) { fstream fileToProcess; fileToProcess.open(<FILENAME>, fstream::in | fstream::out | fstream::app); } }; I want to pass the filename in as an argument to the class constructor, and then the class someClass will access it with fstream.

• explicitly refer to the a class without a namespace in C#

- by JoelFan
The code I'm working with has a class called Environment that is not in any namespace. Unfortunately if I am in a class that imports the System namespace, there is no way to refer to the custom class called Environment. I know this was an unfortunate choice and should be refactored, but is there any way I can explicitly refer to the conflicting class? In C++ it seems the way to do this is by using ::, and in Java there is something called global:: How do I do it in C#?

I am attempting to emulate Foo.class in Jython The chunk of code is as follows: in Java import org.apache.commons.logging.Log; import org.apache.commons.logging.LogFactory; public class MyClass { private static final Log log = LogFactory.getLog(MyClass.class); public MyClass(Document dom) { //code } How can I emulate this same behavior of MyClass.class in Jython/Python?

• How to create a template to display data from a class in WPF

- by Dave Colwell
Hey I have a data layer which is returning lists of classes containing data. I want to display this data in my form in WPF. The data is just properties on the class such as Class.ID, Class.Name, Class.Description (for the sake of example) How can i create a custom control or template an existing control so that it can be given one of these classes and display its data in a data-bound fashion. Thanks :)

• How to test an openshift application on local host

- by panipsilos
I recently start playing with Openshift and I am wondering if there is a way to deploy ( test) your application on local host before you upload it on openshift. Thing is that every time I make change on the code, it takes some time to push it to openshift and check if it works. Google app engine SDK ( for Eclipse), for example, includes a web server application (app engine simulator) that allows you to test your app locally before you deploy on google. thnx Fotis

• How to test unescaped s; as a whitespace

- by gleery
I use apache common lang to unescape a block of html text which contains , I want to filter out blocks that contains only whitespaces. But I can't test the as a whitespace. It's not in the normal whitespace list(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitespace_character), and I try to print its Hex form by calling Character.getNumericValue which return -1. &nbsp should be a whitespace, isn't? But How can I test it?

• test="" on a boolean always returns true

- by user70448
Why does <xsl:if test="<XPATH to boolean value here>"> ... </xsl:if> ALWAYS return true? Since boolean can be 0,1,"false" and "true" by definition, the ONLY way to test for a boolean value is to do string comparison against these. This can't be right.

• Use the keyword class as a variable name in C++

- by Leif Andersen
I am having trouble writing C++ code that uses a header file designed for a C file. In particular, the header file used a variable name called class: int BPY_class_validate(const char *class_type, PyObject *class, PyObject *base_class, BPY_class_attr_check* class_attrs, PyObject **py_class_attrs); This works in C as class isn't taken as a keyword, but in C++, class is. So is there anyway I can #include this header file into a c++ file, or am I out of luck? Thank you.

• Getting path of file copied after deployment in a unit test C#

- by amitchd
Hi, The connection string in my app.config for my C# project looks like Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename='|DataDirectory|\EIC.mdf';Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True" I am writing unit tests for the project and have the set the test run configuration to copy the EIC.mdf, but I do am not able to reference the Deployed copy of EIC.mdf to be referenced by the app.config I created for the test project. If I set it to Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename='EIC.mdf';Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True" It still does not find the mdf file.

• Test if links are external with jQuery / javascript?

- by Matrym
How do I test to see if links are external or internal? Please note: I cannot hard code the local domain. I cannot test for "http". I could just as easily be linking to my own site with an http absolute link. I want to use jQuery / javascript, not css. I suspect the answer lies somewhere in location.href, but the solution evades me. Thanks!
