  Today is the last day of the year and I was going over my memories for year 2010. Almost all of them are good and I feel for sure better person in terms of knowledge, nature and overall human being. Looking back at the year, it is very satisfying as I was able to go out in public and help community out at various capacity. Thought, most of the time my contribution was as speaker, many times, I have reached out and helped organized event and worked at any capacity to get the event out.   Hello friends, I am trying to implement admin login and operators(india,australia,america) login, now operator id starts with 'IND123' 'AUS123' and 'AM123' when operator india logs in he can see the details of only members have id 'IND%', the same applies for an australian and american users and when admin logs in he can see details of members with id 'IND%' or 'AUS%' or 'AM%' i have a table which defines the role i.e admin or operator and their prefix(IND,AUS respectively) In loginpage i created a session for Role and prefix PREFIX = myReader["Prefix"].ToString(); Session["LoginRole"] = myReader["Role"].ToString(); Session["LoginPrefix"] = String.Concat(PREFIX + "%"); works fine In main page(after login) i have to count the number of member so i wrote string prefix = Session["LoginPrefix"].ToString(); string role = Session["LoginRole"].ToString(); if (role.Equals("ADMIN")) StrMemberId = "select count(*) from MemberList"; else StrMemberId = "select count(*) from MemberList where MemberID like '"+prefix+"'"; thatworks fine too Problem: 1. i want to constructor parameter something like StrMemberId = "select count(*) from MemberList where MemberID like '@prefix+'"; myCommd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@prefix", prefix); Which is not working 2 Displaying the members in gridview i need to give condition (something like if (role.Equals("ADMIN")) show all members else show member depending on the operator prefix)the list of members in operator mode and admin mode. - where to put the condition in gridview how to apply these please suggest something Regards Indranil

  The sample page for the MaskedEdit says "Tip: Type 'A' or 'P' to switch AM/PM". Are these keys hardcoded? Does the control automatically change itself for cultures that use 12-hour designators that don't start with A or P? Or is just broken for those? example: Arabic (Saudi Arabia) - AM: ? • A doubt on DOM parser used with Python

  I'm using the following python code to search for a node in an XML file and changing the value of an attribute of one of it's children.Changes are happening correctly when the node is displayed using toxml().But, when it is written to a file, the attributes rearrange themselves(as seen in the Source and the Final XML below). Could anyone explain how and why this happen?   Hi All, I have an MFC application that tries to change the system zone setting on the Windows Server 2008 R2. I am using the SetTimeZoneInformation() API which fails with the error code 1314 .i.e. “A required privilege is not held by the client.”. But how much support will be given free (As we have to discuss this with client). 3) As we have seen details in your website, you have given it supports oracle and sql database. But we wanted to know till which lowest version of oracle and sql it supports. Please send us minimum requirement. 4) What is the capacity of the database to store defects? Backup facility is available? If yes please tell us how should we take. Because we have big team and 5-6 applications so it should not give further problems. 5) Database support: Do you provide database support or database while installation? While installing all the prerequisite application will get installed or we need any application separately. 6)How many users can access at a time? • How to improve performance of map that loads new overlay images

  I have inherited a website to maintain that uses a html map overlaying a real map to link specific countries to specific pages. previously it loaded the default map image, then with some javascript it would change the image src to an image with that particular country in a different colour on mouseover and reset the image source back to the original image on mouse out to make maintenance (adding new countries) easier i made the initial map a background image by utilising some CSS for the div tag, and then created new images for each country which only had that countries hightlight so that the images remain fairly small. this works great but theres one issue which is particularly noticeable on slower internet connections when you hover over a country if you dont have the image file in your browser cache or downloaded it wont load the image unless you hover over another country and then back onto the first country - i guess this is due to the image having to manually be downloaded on first hover. My question: is it possible to force the load of these extra images AFTER the page and all the other assets have finished loading so that this behaviour is all but eliminated? the html code for the MAP is as follows: <div class="gtmap"><img id="Image-Maps_6200909211657061" src="<?php echo cdnhttpsCheck();   Sorry about the title—wasn’t sure how to word it. Basically I have some XML like this: <countries> <country handle="bangladesh"/> <country handle="india"/> <country handle="pakistan"/> </countries> And some XSLT like this (which doesn’t work): <xsl:template match="/countries"> <xsl:param name="popular"/> <xsl:apply-templates select="country[count($popular/country[@handle = current()/@handle]) &gt; 0]" /> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="/countries/country"> … </xsl:template> I want to pass in a list of popular destinations like this: <popular> <country handle="india"/> <country handle="pakistan"/> </popular> …to the /countries template and have it only operate on the ones in the $popular param. At the moment this simply does nothing. Changing the selector to country[true()] operates on them all, so at least I know the basic structure is right. Any ideas? I think I may be getting confused by what is currently “current()”.

• Software jobs after dropping out of masters degree

  I am right now doing my masters in EE in the US, and have previously worked for a couple years in the telecom industry back home in India. I came here wanting to transfer to CS, but at my current university, with my GPA, that seems not very possible. I am not very interested in EE, so I am thinking of dropping out of the program. If I could demonstrate my abilities and experience, would software companies be willing to hire me in the US for my previous experience (with a half completed masters degree). Or would lack of the degree be a huge hindrance? Any suggestions? Thanks

• Database vs Networking

  I have completed my diploma in (IT) and now pursuing degree, i am in last semester of my B.E(I.T). I want to do specialization either in Database(oracle) or in Networking(cisco). Which one of two will be in more demand in near future, i know it's all about interest but still i would like to know your opinion. Most of people say that a network engineer is never paid as better as a programmer or a DBA, and few says they do get paid well. What would be the scope if i clear my CCNA and CCNP exams, or either OCA & OCP exams, what would be more rewarding. Also i have read somewhere that most of the task of DBA will be automated so in future demand of a DBA will reduce. I would also like to hear from Network engineers what's the scenario out there in India. Thanks
