  • Change Emacs Default Coding System

    My problem stems from Emacs inserting the coding system headers into source files containing non-ascii characters: # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- My coworkers do not like these headers being checked into our repositories. I don't want them inserted into my files because Emacs automatically detects that the file should be UTF-8 regardless so there doesn't seem to be any benefit to anyone. I would like to simply set Emacs to use UTF-8 automatically for all files, yet it seems to disagree with this idea. In an effort to fix this, I've added the following to my .emacs: (prefer-coding-system 'utf-8) (setq coding-system-for-read 'utf-8) (setq coding-system-for-write 'utf-8) This does not seem to solve my problem. Emacs still inserts the coding-system headers into my files. Anyone have any ideas? EDIT: I think this problem is specifically related to ruby-mode. I still can't turn it off though.

  • Setting CommandTarget to selected control in a TabControl

    I have a WPF window with a few buttons and a tabcontrol having a tab for each 'document' the user is working on. The tabcontrol uses a DataTemplate to render the data in ItemSource of the tabcontrol. The question: If one of the buttons is clicked, the command should be executed on the control rendering the document in the active tab, but I've no idea what I should set CommandTarget to. I tried {Binding ElementName=nameOfControlInDataTemplate} but that obviously doesn't work. I tried to make my problem a bit more abstract with the following code (no ItemSource and Document objects, but the idea is still the same). <Button Command="ApplicationCommands.Save" CommandTarget="{Binding ElementName=nestedControl}">Save</Button> <TabControl x:Name="tabControl"> <TabControl.Items> <TabItem Header="Header1">Item 1</TabItem> <TabItem Header="Header2">Item 2</TabItem> <TabItem Header="Header3">Item 3</TabItem> </TabControl.Items> <TabControl.ContentTemplate> <DataTemplate> <CommandTest:NestedControl Name="nestedControl"/> </DataTemplate> </TabControl.ContentTemplate> </TabControl> I tested the code by replacing the complete tabcontrol with only one single NestedControl, and then the command button just works.     Hi, I am using SBCL with slime, and have the following code: (swank::eval-in-emacs '(with-current-buffer (slime-repl-buffer) (insert (propertize "foo" 'font-lock-face '(:foreground "red"))))) (print "here is some text") In general if I try to execute anything with swank:: prefixed to it emacs will give a security error, and this particular one tells me I need to set slime-enable-evaluate-in-emacs to true. Where is this value? I haven't been able to find a slime or swank config. & settings file. Thanks much.

    It looks like there are some great libraries out there to do DomainKeys signing of emails on C#/.NET, but I'm having a really hard time finding the same kind of support for PHP. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place? The only one I found is http://php-dkim.sourceforge.net/; it looks incredibly hacky and supports PHP4 only. Considering how popular PHP is, and how critical DomainKeys are for email classification as non-spam, I'd expect better tools; do you know of any? Any other tricks you'd recommend?

    Hi, I want to create a list of GridBagPanel.Constraints. I read it in the scala programming book, that there is a cool for-yield construction, but I probably haven't understood the way it works correctly, because my code doesn't compile. Here it is: val d = for { i <- 0 until 4 j <- 0 until 4 } yield { c = new Constraints c.gridx = j c.gridy = i } I want to generate a List[Constraints] and for every constraint set different x,y values so later, when I later add the components, they're going to be in a grid.

  • Boost graph libraries: setting edge weight values

    I am investigating the use of the boost graph libraries in order to apply them to various network problems I have in mind. In the examples I have been looking at the graph edge values ("weights") are always initialized as integers, such as in these Bellman-Ford and Kruskal algorithms eg: int weights[] = { 1, 1, 2, 7, 3, 1, 1, 1 }; My problem is if I try and change the weights to double, I get a heap of warning messages about conversions etc, which so far I have not been able to figure out how to overcome. Does anyone see a way around this?

  • CheckboxList not setting Selected with Viewstate disabled

    I have a CheckboxList that seems to load and do everything right, except for when I do a postback, it will not have the Item.Selected property set. I have viewstate disabled for the entire page. I load it like so(inside Page_Load on every load): foreach (DataRow service in d.Tables[0].Rows) { cblServices.Items.Add(new ListItem((string)service["description"], service["id"].ToString())); } My markup is simple: <asp:CheckBoxList runat="server" ID="cblServices" Width="300px"></asp:CheckBoxList> and then, I use basically something like this(in a _Click serverside event for a button) foreach(ListItem item in cblServices.Items){ if(item.Selected){ MyLabel.Text+="selected: "+item.Value+item.Text; } } and MyLabel never has any text added to it. I can verify with the debugger that it does reach the _Click's foreach loop, but no item is ever selected. What could be the cause of this?

    Hi, I'm trying to create a list of checkbox items that change the status on activation. I can connect the activate signal and everything seems to work, but changes on the screen. Am I missing some steps here?     I'm running a curl request on an eXist database through php. The dataset is very large, and as a result, the database consistently takes a long amount of time to return an XML response. To fix that, we set up a curl request, with what is supposed to be a long timeout. $ch = curl_init(); $headers["Content-Length"] = strlen($postString); $headers["User-Agent"] = "Curl/1.0"; curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $requestUrl); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, false); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, $headers); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERPWD, 'admin:'); curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_TIMEOUT,1000); $response = curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); However, the curl request consistently ends before the request is completed (<1000 when requested via a browser). Does anyone know if this is the proper way to set timeouts in curl?

  • Android ScrollView jumps around when setting child visibility to View.GONE

    I have a ScrollView that contains an number of other views (TextViews, ImageViews, etc.). The ScrollView is taller than the screen. I have an AsyncTask that updates the children of the ScrollView based on an http response. I've discovered an interesting behavior that I can't figure out how to work around. If I set any of the children's visibilities to View.INVISIBLE as part of the AsyncTask.onPostExecute(), everything works fine. However, if I set any of the children's visibilities to View.GONE, the ScrollView jumps down from the top when onPostExecute() is called. Exactly how far seems to vary. I'm guessing that re-laying out the ScrollView is causing it to scroll away from the top for some reason. So the question is: is there a way to either prevent or work around this behavior? PS. Using ScrollView.jump(FOCUS_UP) as a workaround isn't ideal since that'll force the user to the top even if they had intended to scroll down.

Im using BusinessAreaRegistration.cs and ContentAreaRegistration.cs to register the areas by using AreaRegistration.RegisterAllAreas(). The Content area gets routed just fine, but the business area does not work at all. gooing to /business/businessObjects/ show the error Server Error in '/' Application. The resource cannot be found. How can I register both areas properly?

  • Setting image DPI in relation to height/width C#

    Hi, I'm writing an application to send some images to a third party, and the images must be 200x200 DPI. The image is a Bitmap and is sized at 500 width and 250 height. The first time I tested the images with the third party, my resolution was incorrect. I merely used image.SetResolution(200,200) to correctly set it to 200x200. This, however, only changed the resolution tag for the image and did not properly, according to my third party technical contact, adjust the image height and width. Is there a ratio that I can use so that for each X units I increment the resolution, I merely increment the corresponding height or width Y units? I thought that I could just increment resolution without having to increment height or width. Thank you, Aaron.

I am writing a PC side server for my andriod device, this is for exchanging some information and general debugging. Eventually I will be connecting to a SPP device to control a microcontroller. I have managed, using the following (Android to pc) to connect to rfcomm channel 11 and exchange data between my android device and my pc. Method m = device.getClass().getMethod("createRfcommSocket", new Class[] { int.class }); tmp = (BluetoothSocket) m.invoke(device, Integer.valueOf(11)); I have attempted the createRfcommSocketToServiceRecord(UUID) method, with absolutely no luck. For the PC side, I have been using the C Bluez stack for linux. Let me reiterate, I can get it to work, but not using service discovery protocol. I've tried a several different UUIDs and on two different computers, although I only have my HTC Incredible to test with. I've also heard some rumors that the BT stack wasn't working on the HTC Droid, but that isn't the case, at least, for PC interaction.

    Hi, I'm using Delphitwain (delphitwain.sourceforge.net) to add scan functionality to my app. Everything was fine, when i click scan button on my app it will show scan mode with scanner's Properties such as Page Size, Scanning Side (canon dr-3010c) and there is a Scan button and Cancel button. If i click cancel of course all the properties back to it's value before. How can I show this Scanner's Properties only to change properties without Scan, since i can do scan without showing properties Twain.LoadLibrary; Twain.LoadSourceManager; Twain.Source[CurrentSource].Loaded := TRUE; Twain.Source[CurrentSource].TransferMode := TTwainTransferMode(0); Twain.Source[CurrentSource].EnableSource(True, True); while Twain.Source[CurrentSource].Enabled do Application.ProcessMessages; Twain.UnloadLibrary; Twain.Source[CurrentSource].EnableSource(True, True); The first True for ShowUI and the second True for Modal I know it can be achieved 'cos i've seen another application that can show scanner's properties without scan, only OK and Cancel button, i've searched google all over but no luck, or maybe it just the limitation of the delphitwain component?     I there a simple way when using ASP.NET 4.0 routing with Web Forms to produce a route that will act as some kind of wildcard? It seems to me that within WebForms, you have to specify a route for every page - I am looking for some kind of generic route that can be used where nothing specific is required, perhaps mapping directly from path to path so... http://somedomain.com/folder1/folder2/page would possibly map to folder1/folder2/page.aspx Any suggestions?
