  • C# Console Application Output to .csv file

    - by Zinn
    I am trying to make a program that will show the numbers: 1, 10 +30 2, 40 (the scale goes up in this pattern by adding 20 to the last number added) 3, 90 +50 4, 160 5, 250 +70 So far I have this code: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.IO;// namespace Myloop { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) /// </summary> { StreamWriter myOutputStream = new StreamWriter("loopdata.csv"); int forloop; for (forloop = 1; forloop < 21; forloop++) Console.WriteLine(forloop); Console.ReadLine(); myOutputStream.Close(); } } } This is showing the first sequence of numbers 1 - 20, but could anyone give me any guidance how to do the other sequence next to it in the console application and how I can output these to a .csv file, as the information I have so far doesn't appear in the .csv file

  • Shuffle array variables in a pre-specified order, without using extra memory of "size of input array"

    - by Eternal Learner
    Input : A[4] = {0,4,-1,1000} - Actual Array P[4] = {1,0,3,2} - Order to be reshuffled Output: A[4] = {4,0,1000,-1} Condition : Don't use an additional array as memory. Can use an extra variable or two. Problem : I have the below program in C++, but this fails for certain inputs of array P. #include<iostream> using namespace std; void swap(int *a_r,int *r) { int temp = *r; *r = *a_r; *a_r = temp; } int main() { int A[4] = {0,4,-1,1000}; int P[4] = {3,0,1,2}; int value = A[0] , dest = P[0]; for(int i=0; i<4;i++) { swap(&A[dest],&value); dest = P[dest]; } for(int i=0;i<4;i++) cout<<A[i]<<" "; }

  • ReorderListView in WPF

    - by Philipp Schmid
    I love the controls from the Bag-Of-Tricks. I am interested in modifying the ReorderListBox control to get a ReorderListView control. However, simply changing the base class from ListBox to ListView is not working. When I try to add a ReorderListView to XAML like this: <lib:ReorderListView Grid.Row="1"> <ReorderListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Header="Data1" /> </GridView> </ReorderListView.View> </lib:ReorderListView> I get an error ("The tag 'ReorderListView.View' does not exist in XML namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation'.) How do I modify the ReorderListBox example to get this to work? Has anyone already succeeded in doing this?

  • Programmatically find maximum static array size in C++

    - by GuyGreer
    I am curious whether it is possible to determine the maximum size that an array can have in C++. #include <iostream> using namespace std; #define MAX 2000000 int main() { long array[MAX]; cout << "Message" << endl; return 0; } This compiles just fine, but then segfaults as soon as I run it (even though array isn't actually referenced). I know it's the array size too because if I change it to 1000000 it runs just fine. So, is there some define somewhere or some way of having #define MAX MAX_ALLOWED_ARRAY_SIZE_FOR_MY_MACHINE_DEFINED_SOMEWHERE_FOR_ME? I don't actually need this for anything, this question is for curiosity's sake.

  • Referencing invalid memory locations with C++ Iterators

    - by themoondothshine
    I am a big fan of GCC, but recently I noticed a vague anomaly. Using __gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator (ie, the most common iterator type used in libstdc++, the C++ STL) it is possible to refer to an arbitrary memory location and even change its value without causing an exception! Is this expected behavior? If so, isn't a security loophole? Here's an example: #include <iostream> using namespace std; int main() { basic_string<char> str("Hello world!"); basic_string<char>::iterator iter = str.end(); iter += str.capacity() + 99999; *iter = 'x'; cout << "Value: " << *iter << endl; }

  • Error : The Type Initializer of Daemon.Global threw an exception in c#

    - by srk
    I am using the below class file, where some variables are declared to use in the entire application. Now I used that variable BlockLogOut in another class file to make the value true. I just put this below line and getting error in it.. TypeInitializationException Global.BlockLogOut = True; The weird thing is, it was working fine for many months and i am getting this error now on the above line. Of course i was modifying some other stuffs in the application, but surely not this class file. What would have been the problem? namespace Daemon { class Global { public static bool BlockLogOut = false; } }

  • Is PThread a good choice for multi-platorm C/C++ multi-threading program?

    - by RogerV
    Been doing mostly Java and smattering of .NET for last five years and haven't written any significant C or C++ during that time. So have been away from that scene for a while. If I want to write a C or C++ program today that does some multi-threading and is source code portable across Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux/Unix - is PThread a good choice? The C or C++ code won't be doing any GUI, so won't need to worry with any of that. For the Windows platform, I don't want to bring a lot of Unix baggage, though, in terms of unix emulation runtime libraries. Would prefer a PThread API for Windows that is a thin-as-possible wrapper over existing Windows threading APIs. ADDENDUM EDIT: Am leaning toward going with boost:thread - I also want to be able to use C++ try/catch exception handling too. And even though my program will be rather minimal and not particularly OOPish, I like to encapsulate using class and namespace - as opposed to C disembodied functions.

  • how to use replace_regex_copy() from boost::algorithm library?

    - by Vincenzo
    This is my code: #include <string> #include <boost/algorithm/string/regex.hpp> string f(const string& s) { using namespace boost::algorithm; return replace_regex_copy(s, "\\w", "?"); } This is what compiler says: no matching function for call to ‘replace_regex_copy(const std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> >&, std::string, std::string) The link to the library: http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_43_0/doc/html/boost/algorithm/replace_regex_copy.html Could anyone please help? Thanks! ps. Boost library is in place, since other functions from it work fine.

  • Unable to make WMI connection from XP Pro machine to another (not in domain, same workgroup) in C#

    - by JCCyC
    I have two XP Pro SP3 machines. I disabled the firewall in both. The workgroup name is WORKGROUP. I have an administrator account with identical username/password in both. My code to connect is the following: ConnectionOptions options = new ConnectionOptions(); options.Username = myUsername; options.Password = myPassword; options.Authority = "ntdlmdomain:WORKGROUP"; // Commenting this or not makes no difference ManagementScope scope = new ManagementScope(String.Format("\\\\{0}\\{1}", hostname, Namespace), options); scope.Connect(); I always get a System.UnauthorizedAccessException with the text: "Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))" The above code works between two machines that are part of the same AD domain. What am I doing wrong?

  • NUnit [Test] is not a valid attribute

    - by tyndall
    I've included the necessary assemblies into a Windows Class project in VS2008. When I start to try to write a test I get a red squiggle line and the message [Test] is not a valid attribute. I've used NUnit before... maybe an earlier version. What am I doing wrong? I'm on version 2.5.2. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using NUnit; using NUnit.Core; using NUnit.Framework; namespace AccessPoint.Web.Test { public class LoginTests { [Test] public void CanLogin() { } } }

  • Why I have to redeclare a virtual function while overriding [C++]

    - by Neeraj
    #include <iostream> using namespace std; class Duck { public: virtual void quack() = 0; }; class BigDuck : public Duck { public: // void quack(); (uncommenting will make it compile) }; void BigDuck::quack(){ cout << "BigDuckDuck::Quack\n"; } int main() { BigDuck b; Duck *d = &b; d->quack(); } Consider this code, the code doesn't compiles. However when I declare the virtual function in the subclass, then it compiles fine. The compiler already has the signature of the function which the subclass will override, then why a redeclaration is required? Any insights.

  • SQL alert for a stored procedure?

    - by superdupersomething
    I have a SQL 2005 setup and am rather new :) Been cracking at this for a few hours and I just need some help. I have been able to setup alerts successfully for the standard "SQL server performance events", its fun. So I already have email alerts working. However I need the alert thing to run a stored procedure I have created, and depending on its output it will alert me or not via email. So far I have been trying to use the WMI events, but I keep getting an error "The @wmi_query could not be executed in the @wmi_namespace provided. Verify that an event class selected in the query exists in the namespace and that the query has the correct syntax" the query definitely works so I have no idea.. is there a different way to do this?

  • How can I Find out what BCL types a custom type is using its method?

    - by dotnetdev
    If I have a class, eg T1, and I want to know what classes in the BCL it is using, how could I do this? I came up with this: T1.GetType().GetMethods().Where(x => x.DeclaringType.Namespace == "System"); But this will get all methods in my custom type, but I want to look inside each Method, so I was hoping I could do something like: T1.GetType().GetMethods().BodyTypesUsed; to check if my method uses a type like Streamwriter. How could I achieve this?
