  • WPF multitrigger referencing 2 other controls

    - by BrettRobi
I have two CheckBoxes and a TextBox. I want to TextBox to have IsEnabled=False if both CheckBoxes have IsChecked=False. Can I do this with a MultiTrigger? I keep getting errors trying to use the Source property. I have it working with MultiDataTriggers as you can see below. But have two questions. 1) Is this my only choice? Can I do it with a MultiTrigger? <TextBox.Style> <Style TargetType="TextBox"> <Style.Triggers> <MultiDataTrigger> <MultiDataTrigger.Conditions> <Condition Binding="{Binding ElementName=uxDmm , Path=IsChecked}" Value="False" /> <Condition Binding="{Binding ElementName=uxGpm , Path=IsChecked}" Value="False" /> </MultiDataTrigger.Conditions> <Setter Property="IsEnabled" Value="False" /> </MultiDataTrigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </TextBox.Style> 2) Can I do this outside of the tag? I'm not really sure where Triggers can be applied, most samples do it within Style or DataTemplates, but defining it within a Style is messing up my default look and feel for the TextBox.

  • capture MouseEnter / MouseLeave on Image in WPF TreeViewItem

    - by pileggi
Hi! I've done my TreeView all with XAML but now I'd like to manage an event with code-behind and I don't know how. The HierarchicalDataTemplate contains an Image. I need to capture the events MouseEnter / MouseLeave on the Image. I've tried in this way: <Image x:Name="imgArticolo" Source="{Binding imgArt}"> <Image.Style TargetType="{x:Type Image}"> <Style> <EventSetter Event="MouseEnter" Handler="iArt_MouseEnter"/> </Style> </Image.Style> </Image> But it doesn't work: error: "MouseEnter member not recognized or not accessible" (from italian) Can you, please, help me? Thank you! Pileggi

  • Can a custom WPF control implement the IsDefault property

    - by jpierson
I have a custom button control that does not derive from Button. Is it possible for me to implement the equivalent of IsDefault so that the command associated with my control will be invoked. I was hoping that this was an attached property that I could add to any control but as far as I can tell it doesn't seem to be. Am I out of luck if my control does not derive from Button or is there at least a reasonable workaround?

  • WPF RichTextBox with no width set

    - by Mick
I have the following XAML code: <Window x:Class="RichText_Wrapping.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1"> <Grid> <RichTextBox Height="100" Margin="2" Name="richTextBox1"> <FlowDocument> <Paragraph> This is a RichTextBox - if you don't specify a width, the text appears in a single column </Paragraph> </FlowDocument> </RichTextBox> </Grid> ... If you create this window in XAML, you can see that when you don't specify a width for the window, it wraps the text in a single column, one letter at a time. Is there something I'm missing? If it's a known deficiency in the control, is there any workaround? Thanks, Michael

    - by Ron H
What I need is a grid with all employees data, and a link to a single employees form. I'm ok with filling the grid with data. my questions are: how to create the link? how to send the parameter (employeeid) to the single-employee page, and make it open with the correct data. Thanks, Ron

  • WPF: How to get the event when one FrameworkElement comes in contact with other FrameworkElement

    - by Raghav
I am developing a small application with images and trash box icon on right hand bottom. I have multiple images floating in the main window, and using mouse I can move image from one corner to other corner of window, left, right, top and bottom. I can't figure out how do I catch an event when a image touches and panel (with trash box image), in the right hand corner. Does anybody knows which event or handler to listen? This is not a drag and drop case since my images are floating so no point using drag and drop. Thank you

  • WPF TextBlock Binding to DependencyProperty

    - by Bill Campbell
Hi, I have what I believe to be about one of the most simple cases of attempting to bind a view to a dependencyproperty in the view model. It seems that the initial changes are reflected in the view but other changes to the DP do not update the view's TextBlock. I'm probably just missing something simple but I just can't see what it is. Please take a look... My XAML has a status bar on the bottom of the window. I want to bind to the DP "VRAStatus". <StatusBar x:Name="sbar" Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="2" Grid.ColumnSpan="2" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Background="LightBlue" Opacity="0.4" DockPanel.Dock="Bottom" > <StatusBarItem> <TextBlock x:Name="statusBar" Text="{Binding VRAStatus}" /> </StatusBarItem> <StatusBarItem> <Separator Style="{StaticResource StatusBarSeparatorStyle}"/> </StatusBarItem> </StatusBar> My viewmodel has the DP defined: public string VRAStatus { get { return (string)GetValue(VRAStatusProperty); } set { SetValue(VRAStatusProperty, value); } } // Using a DependencyProperty as the backing store for VRAStatus. public static readonly DependencyProperty VRAStatusProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("VRAStatus", typeof(string), typeof(PenskeRouteAssistViewModel),new PropertyMetadata(string.Empty)); Then, in my code I set the DP: VRAStatus = "Test Message..."; Is there something obvious here that I am missing? In my constructor for the viewmodel I set the DP like this: VRAStatus = "Ready"; I never get the Test Message to display. Please Help. thanks in advance! Bill

  • Issue with child of custom Decorator class in WPF

    - by galacticgrug
I need a custom border that renders a little differently than a normal border. I made a class that inherited from Decorator as follows class BetterBorder : Decorator { protected override Size ArrangeOverride(Size arrangeSize) { return arrangeSize; } protected override void OnRender(DrawingContext dc) { //these values are calculated elsewhere dc.DrawGeometry(backgroundBrush, borderPen, pathGeometry); } } //Properties and helper methods below this All of this works fine until I try to add a child to the control, the control can be added but is not visible and seems to be moved off BetterBorders visible client area. If I inherit from Border everything works fine, what am I missing?

  • How to use two templates for ListViewItem using WPF

    - by Gregor
Hi, I would like to have a ListView that would have have items similar to Microsoft Outlook inbox with items arranged by Conversations (see the attached photo). An item can either be a simple textblock containing the topic of the conversation (on the photo this are the blue lines) or it can contain email information specified by the ListView's header. It would be best if the items with conversation topics would be push buttons so that emails inside that conversation could be shown or hidden by pressing this button. Any ideas how can I achieve this? Do I specify two ListViewItem templates? If yes, how do I tell in the code which template to use for each item? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!! Regards, Gregor

  • WPF Open Combobox popup on Focus or GotFocus

    - by ashish.magroria
    Hi, I am trying to open the combobox popup when it is focused using Style/Event Trigger I used the following code in my Combobox control Template: <ControlTemplate x:Key="ComboBoxTemplate" TargetType="{x:Type ComboBox}"> <Grid > <ToggleButton Grid.Column="2" Template="{DynamicResource ComboBoxToggleButton}" x:Name="ToggleButton" Focusable="false" IsChecked="{Binding Path=IsDropDownOpen, Mode=TwoWay, RelativeSource={RelativeSource TemplatedParent}}" ClickMode="Press"/> <ContentPresenter HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="3,3,23,3" x:Name="ContentSite" VerticalAlignment="Center" Content="{TemplateBinding SelectionBoxItem}" ContentTemplate="{TemplateBinding SelectionBoxItemTemplate}" ContentTemplateSelector="{TemplateBinding ItemTemplateSelector}" IsHitTestVisible="False"/> <TextBox Visibility="Hidden" Template="{DynamicResource ComboBoxTextBox}" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="3,3,23,3" x:Name="PART_EditableTextBox" Style="{x:Null}" VerticalAlignment="Center" Focusable="True" Background="Transparent" IsReadOnly="{TemplateBinding IsReadOnly}"/> <Popup IsOpen="{TemplateBinding IsDropDownOpen}" Placement="Bottom" x:Name="Popup" Focusable="False" AllowsTransparency="True" PopupAnimation="Slide"> <Grid MaxHeight="{TemplateBinding MaxDropDownHeight}" MinWidth="{TemplateBinding ActualWidth}" x:Name="DropDown" SnapsToDevicePixels="True"> <Border x:Name="DropDownBorder" Background="{DynamicResource ShadeBrush}" BorderBrush="{DynamicResource SolidBorderBrush}" BorderThickness="1"/> <ScrollViewer Margin="4,6,4,6" SnapsToDevicePixels="True" HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" CanContentScroll="True"> <StackPanel IsItemsHost="True" KeyboardNavigation.DirectionalNavigation="Contained"/> </ScrollViewer> </Grid> </Popup> </Grid> <ControlTemplate.Triggers> **<Trigger Property="IsMouseOver" Value="True"> <Setter Property="IsOpen" Value="True" TargetName="Popup"/> </Trigger>** </ControlTemplate.Triggers> </ControlTemplate> But nothing happens with this code. So I trid the following Event trigger in ControlTemplate.Triggers <EventTrigger RoutedEvent="UIElement.GotFocus"> <BeginStoryboard> <Storyboard > <BooleanAnimationUsingKeyFrames Storyboard.TargetName="Popup" Storyboard.TargetProperty="IsOpen" FillBehavior="HoldEnd"> <DiscreteBooleanKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00" Value="True" /> </BooleanAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> </BeginStoryboard> </EventTrigger> <EventTrigger RoutedEvent="UIElement.LostFocus"> <BeginStoryboard> <Storyboard > <BooleanAnimationUsingKeyFrames Storyboard.TargetName="Popup" Storyboard.TargetProperty="IsOpen" FillBehavior="HoldEnd"> <DiscreteBooleanKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00" Value="False" /> </BooleanAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> </BeginStoryboard> </EventTrigger> Now this helps open the popup on focus, but when I select any item from dropdown the pop up doesnt disappear as usual; it stays open. it closes only after I click somewhere else in the window. Can someone please suggest the proper way to do this Thanks in advance

  • WPF Image change source when button is disabled

    - by Taylor
    Hi, I'm trying to show a different image when the button is disabled. Should be easy with triggers, right?! For some reason, I have not been able to get the images to switch. I've tried setting triggers on both the image and button. What is wrong with what I have below? How can I change the image source when the button is enabled/disabled? Thanks! <Button x:Name="rleft" Command="{Binding Path=Operation}" CommandParameter="{x:Static vm:Ops.OpA}"> <Button.Content> <StackPanel> <Image Width="24" Height="24" RenderOptions.BitmapScalingMode="NearestNeighbor" SnapsToDevicePixels="True" Source="/MyAssembly;component/images/enabled.png"> <Image.Style> <Style> <Style.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding ElementName=rleft, Path=Button.IsEnabled}" Value="False"> <Setter Property="Image.Source" Value="/MyAssembly;component/images/disabled.png" /> </DataTrigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </Image.Style> </Image> </StackPanel> </Button.Content> </Button>

  • WPF Application Typing in Custom TextBox CPU Jumping from 3 to 80 percent

    - by azamsharp
I have created a RichTextBox called SharpTextBox which indicates and limits the number of characters that can be typed in it. The implementation is shown in the following link: http://www.highoncoding.com/Articles/673_Creating_SharpRichTextBox_for_Live_Character_Count_in_WPF.aspx Anyway when I start typing in the TextBox it goes from 3% to 78%. The TextBox updates the Label control which shows the number of characters remaining for the count. How can I increase the performance of the textbox? UPDATE: I read there seems to be some problem with the TextRange.Text property which kills performance.

  • Showing a tooltip on a combobox from the itemtemplate (WPF)

    - by Jamie
I have a ComboBox with a DataTemplate. The DataTemplate has two controls, each of which has a ToolTip attached to it. The list of items of the ComboBox has the tooltips as expected when you hover over each control. But the selected item area on top of the ComboBox does not display the tooltips, though the controls are rendered as expected. Is there a way to force the tooltips to be displayed?

  • I've got a ComboBox that's giving me grief in WPF using the MVVM pattern

    - by Mike
Here's my code: <ComboBox Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="9" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=PriorityEntries}" SelectedItem="{Binding Path=Priority,Mode=TwoWay}"/> The comboBox is bound properly with PriorityEntries, and when i change the value of the comboBox the "set" of the bound property(Priority) is called setting it to what it needs to be. However, when i close the UserControl that this combobox resides, it calls the set property again with a value of null and then sets what the selectedItem was to null. Why is the comboBox being bound again when I close the usercontrol. I tried setting the mode to OneTime, but that won't reflect any changes...

  • WPF Visibility of a UI element based on combo selection

    - by tim
    Trying to show a label only when a certain item in a combo is selected. Code should pretty much explain it. <ComboBox Name="comboMyCombo"> <ComboBoxItem>Don't show the label</ComboBoxItem> <ComboBoxItem>Show the label</ComboBoxItem> </ComboBox> <Label Visibility="Collapsed">This is my label <Label.Style> <Style> <Style.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding ElementName=comboMyCombo, Path=SelectedValue}" Value="Show the label"> <Setter Property="Label.Visibility" Value="Visible"></Setter> </DataTrigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </Label.Style> </Label>

  • WPF DataGrid button style

    - by imekon
If I have a DataGrid in a XAML form, and add the following style: <Style TargetType="Button"> <Setter Property="Margin" Value="2"/> </Style> The data grid locks up the application. I found if I put the style into a resource block that isn't seen by any data grid, then it seems to be happy. However, if I want to have the style above applied to all buttons on my window, I have to put it in various resource blocks that cannot be seen by the data grid. Is there any way to avoid this?

  • WPF Textbox & Borders - curious resizing behavior

    - by CitizenParker
The following XAML produces a window with strange behavior around the textbox: <Window x:Class="WpfSandbox.CuriousExample" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="CuriousExample" Height="300" Width="300"> <DockPanel Margin="15"> <TextBox BorderThickness="1" BorderBrush="#FF000000"></TextBox> </DockPanel> </Window> What happens, at least during my limited testing, is that the textbox renders with an inset border pattern (top/left is black, right/bottom is grey). However, when you resize to any position except the original, the entire textbox border goes to black. Whenever you return the window to the exact number of on-screen pixels the form had when it first loaded, it's inset again. I'm guessing it isn't pixel snapping as I can easily correct the problem with this code: <Window x:Class="WpfSandbox.CuriousExample" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="CuriousExample" Height="300" Width="300"> <DockPanel Margin="15"> <Border BorderThickness="1" BorderBrush="#FF000000"> <TextBox BorderThickness="0" ></TextBox> </Border> </DockPanel> </Window> Anyone care to venture an explanation as to what I'm seeing? Or is it all in my head? Like I said, the above workaround can resolve this problem - just trying to understand what is happening here. Thanks, -Scott

  • WPF ValidationRule Validate when the control is loaded

Hi ! But to call this method at the very beginning when the MyControl is created? I need to prove immediate after initialize if the there's a null value in the control (and display a validation error)

  • WPF/C#: Enable/Disable buttons depending on the number of clicks

    - by eibhrum
Hi, I do have two buttons 'btnPrev' and 'btnNext' What I want to do is to be able to determine the number of clicks of the button so that I could enable and disable them. The process is almost similar to 'paging' method. Initial state: btnPrev - disabled, btnNext - enabled 1st Click (btnNext): btnPrev - enabled, btnNext - enabled 2nd Click (btnNext): btnPrev - enabled, btnNext - enabled 3rd Click (btnNext): btnPrev - enabled, btnNext - disabled the idea is almost the same vice-versa (for btnPrev) any suggestions how to do it?

  • Mouse interaction in ListBoxItem children (WPF)

    - by absence
I have a ListBox with an ItemTemplate that contains a control that interacts with the mouse. This interfers with the selection functionality of the ListBox, i.e. clicking a control does not select the item. This is because ListBoxItem sets the Handled property of the mouse event to true in OnMouseLeftButtonDown. I tried the following protected override void OnMouseLeftButtonDown(MouseButtonEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseLeftButtonDown(e); e.Handled = false; } but the ListBoxItem “takes over” the mouse and prevents the control from doing its own interaction. Then I had another idea protected override void OnMouseLeftButtonDown(MouseButtonEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseLeftButtonDown(e); ((ListBoxItem)VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(this)))).IsSelected = true; } which actually works, but feels more like an ugly kludge than an elegant solution. Are there any better solutions that don't rely on the exact contents of the visual tree?

  • WPF UserControls - setting the .Command property on button inside UserControl

    - by Judah Himango
I've got a UserControl that contains a button and some other controls: <UserControl> <StackPanel> <Button x:Name="button" /> ... </StackPanel> </UserControl> When I create a new instance of that control, I want to get at the Button's Command property: <my:GreatUserControl TheButton.Command="{Binding SomeCommandHere}"> </my:GreatUserControl> Of course, the "TheButton.Command" thing doesn't work. So my question is: Using XAML, how can I set the .Command property of the button inside my user control?
