  I have a problem trying to compare 2 xml files with the XmlDiff library from Microsoft. • How best to use XPath with very large XML files in .NET?

  I need to do some processing on fairly large XML files ( large here being potentially upwards of a gigabyte ) in C# including performing some complex xpath queries. The problem I have is that the standard way I would normally do this through the System.XML libraries likes to load the whole file into memory before it does anything with it, which can cause memory problems with files of this size. I don't need to be updating the files at all just reading them and querying the data contained in them. Some of the XPath queries are quite involved and go across several levels of parent-child type relationship - I'm not sure whether this will affect the ability to use a stream reader rather than loading the data into memory as a block. One way I can see of making it work is to perform the simple analysis using a stream-based approach and perhaps wrapping the XPath statements into XSLT transformations that I could run across the files afterward, although it seems a little convoluted. Alternately I know that there are some elements that the XPath queries will not run across, so I guess I could break the document up into a series of smaller fragments based on it's original tree structure, which could perhaps be small enough to process in memory without causing too much havoc. I've tried to explain my objective here so if I'm barking up totally the wrong tree in terms of general approach I'm sure you folks can set me right...

• Ruby ROXML - how to get an array to render its xml?

  I'm trying to create a Messages object that inherits Array. The messages will gather a group of Message objects. I'm trying to create an xml output with ROXML that looks like this: <messages> <message> <type></type> <code></code> <body></body> </message> ... </messages> However, I can't figure out how to get the message objects in the Messages object to display in the xml. Here is the code I've been working with: require 'roxml' class Message include ROXML xml_accessor :type xml_accessor :code xml_accessor :body end class Messages < Array include ROXML # I think this is the problem - but how do I tell ROXML that # the messages are in this instance of array? xml_accessor :messages, :as => [Message] def add(message) self << message end end message = Message.new message.type = "error" message.code = "1234" message.body = "This is a test message." messages = Messages.new messages.add message puts messages.length puts messages.to_xml This outputs: 1 <messages/> So, the message object I added to messages isn't getting displayed. • Entities Framework 4 doing a bulk delete

  I wish to know if there is a good way to do a bulk delete or delete multiple rows using the Entities Framework 4. I can't seam to find a DeleteAll command. The only one that is available is DeleteObject() which only takes one entity, I would like to perform a delete on a list of entities.Is there a better way than to loop trough the list? I did see an article that used ExecuteStoreQuery and created some sql that would perform the delete. Is there a better way than to perform any of these two options Please advice what is the best way to perform this action.

• Bulkloading schema less entities on Google App Engine

  The new bulkloader added into SDK 1.3.4 works great for models that have a schema. For models inheriting db.Expando (or loosely defined schemas) i would like to understand what i would have to do to bulk upload them. I defined a custom connector, that implemented the ConnectorInterface and converted my data to the python dict required. How can i use this dict to define entities that get uploaded to the data store ? In the documentation there seems to be a post_import_function that can be used to return the entities that get uploaded. Is there an example on how this function is used ?

• Solr dataimport skips entities in my data-config.xml

  My data-config.xml defines 3 different entities under the document tag (lets call them foo, bar and baz). When I issue a basic full import localhost:8983/solr/dataimport?command=full-import, only 2 of the 3 entities get indexed (foo and bar are in my index but baz never makes it). However, if I then issue a command to just import baz via localhost:8983/solr/dataimport?command=full-import&entity=baz&clean=false it adds baz documents just fine and the index then has all 3 types. Does anyone have any thoughts on why one entity gets skipped in the general data import but then still works okay if I specifically call it out? Is there an error/warning log I can check? Nothing bad shows up in /solr/logs/ but those just appear to be request logs.

  I decided to use Dynamic Data Entities website in vs2012. So, I created this website,then added App_Code directory and added a new edmx to it and named it myDB.edmx. After that I uncommented the code line in global.asax which registers the entity context : DefaultModel.RegisterContext(typeof(myDBEntities), new ContextConfiguration() { ScaffoldAllTables = true }); But when I run the website this error occurs : The context type 'myDBEntities' is not supported. how can I fix it? p.s: You now there are some differences between using L2S by Dynamic Data L2S website AND using entity framework by Dynamic Data Entities website.

  I need some assistance converting an xml document to a CSV file using an xslt stylesheet. I am trying to use the following xsl and I can't seem to get it right. I want my comma delimited file to include column headings, followed by the data. My biggest issues are removing the final comma after the last item and inserting a carriage return so each group of data appears on a separate line.   I've only discovered a month ago the folly of directly accessing entities / models from the data access layer of an n-tier app. After reading about ViewModels while studying ASP.NET MVC, I've come to understand that to make a truly extensible application the model that the UI layer interacts with must be different from the one that the Data Access layer has access to. But what about the Business layer? Should I have a different set of models for my business layer as well? For true separation of concern, should I have a specific set of models that are relevant only to my business layer so as not to mess around with any entities (possibly generated by for example, the entity framework, or EJB) in the DAL or would that be overkill?

Of course, i could create a CarpenterPerson and WindowWasher entity which each points to it's unique daily record structure, but i have to group people together in my app somehow. so if i do a Group Entity: Entity Group Attribute people array i'm still stuck. how do i point to multiple & different Person entities? There must be an obvious answer, it's just i'm so new to all of this. thanks!

  I have 2 tables, 1 with countries, 1 with states. The states table has a column with Population. I'm using entities and I have created a List of states for the countries public class TblCountries { //Entities for my table country ... public List<tblStates> States { get; set; } } So now I can for example List all the states that belong to a country. Now what I want to do is count the population, so I can show the population that of an entire country.   A set of forms (using Zend_Form) that I have been working on were causing me some headaches trying to figure out what was wrong with my XML configuration, as I kept getting unexpected HTML output for a particular INPUT element. It was supposed to be getting a default value, but nothing appeared. It appears that the following 2 pieces of XML are not equal when used to instantiate Zend_Form: Snippet #1: <form> <elements> <test type="hidden"> <options ignore="true" value="foo"/> </test> </elements> </form> Snippet #2: <form> <elements> <test type="hidden"> <options ignore="true"> <value>foo</value> </options> </test> </elements> </form> The type of the element doesn't appear to make a difference, so it doesn't appear to be related to hidden fields. Is this expected or not?

If I generated my Model from the Database using VS2010 EF4 Entity Data Model (edmx and it's cs class), And I want to add attributes on some of the entities. what would be the best practice ? how should I cope with updating the model (adding more fields / tables to the database and merging them into the edmx) - will it keep my attributes or generate a new cs file erasing everything ? (Manual changes to this file may cause unexpected behavior in your application.) (Manual changes to this file will be overwritten if the code is regenerated.)

It works very fine in locally. But in server it shows the bellow error ---- TypeError: Error #1088: The markup in the document following the root element must be well-formed. at bgfin_fla::Main_1/xmlLoaded() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent() at flash.net::URLLoader/onComplete() someone please show me the path.
