  • Windows version of the Unix touch command

    - by Paul Hargreaves
I'm looking for a Windows port of the UNIX touch command. I don't want to install an entire MKS toolkit just for the one tool. Is there a native port available somewhere or a command in Windows that does the same thing and supports features like all files in a directory by wildcard? Specifically I'm after changing mtime, ctime and atime for a project that reports ages of files based on... mtime, ctime and atime.

  • Any difference in performance/compatibility of different languages in PostgreSQL?

    - by Igor
In nowadays the PostgreSQL offers plenty of procedural languages: pl/pgsql, pl/perl, etc Are there any difference in the speed/memory consumption in procedures written in different languages? Does anybody have done any test? Is it true that to use the native pl/pgsql is the most correct choice? How the procedure written in C++ and compiled into loadable module differs in all parameter w.r.t. the user function written with pl/* languages?

  • Why is go language so slow?

    - by oraz
As we can see from The Computer Language Benchmarks Game: go is in average 10x slower then C go is 3x slower then Java !? How it can be bearing in mind that go compiler produces native code for execution? Immature compilers for go? Or there is some intrinsic problem with the go language?

  • What's the best way to spy on IOCTLs?

    - by Pavel Radzivilovsky
I have a U9 Telit modem which, at first, appears as a disk drive on USB bus. Then, the native software after autorun and install, sends a couple of IOCTLs to tell the device to reappear as other things. I can see them in procexp. I want to better spy on these, to know exactly what they send and how, in order to do the same in proper way.

  • NUnit Addins with Resharper 5

    - by madgnome
The latest Resharper (v5) version is based on native NUnit code and allows NUnit addins. I have a NUnit addin that works fine in NUnit GUI but I can not make it work with Resharper. Based on R# indication I have put my addins library in %ResharperPath%\Bin\addins but I doesn't work, my tests are marked as Ignored. Question: How to run the NUnit addins with ReSharper?

  • Must I Install a Gem to Unpack It?

    - by yar
I wrote up some instructions for freezing a non-native gem in a Rails app today: install the gem sudo gem install fastercsv put the reference in the environment.rb (I think this is only necessary to do unpack with no GEM specified) config.gem "fastercsv" unpack the gem rake gems:unpack GEM=fastercsv uninstall the gem sudo gem uninstall fastercsv I know this must be the long way around: how can I unpack the gem without installing it first? Also: What's the difference between rake gems:unpack GEM=fastercsv and gem unpack fastercsv?

I'd like to get feedback on use of Crystal Reports SSRS Telerik MVC Reporting Solutions SSRS - requires hybrid application with winforms page hosting the report Telerik - ??? Anybody out there notice anything wrong with this JSON? It validates at JSONLint.com, but neither Chrome nor Firefox's native JSON parse functions will properly parse it. • Facebook Connect for BlackBerry

    - by Gadi
Hi I'm looking for a solution similar to the iPhone Facebook Connect (http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Facebook%5FConnect%5Ffor%5FiPhone) for the BlackBerry platform. Basically, I need my users to authenticate against Facebook from within a native BlackBerry application (so, not a Web based mobile application). Is there a library I could use, and if not, what will be the correct approach to achieve this? Thanks in advance!

  • const object and const constructor

    - by Muhammad alaa
Is there any way to know if an object is a const object or regular object, for instance consider the following class class String { String(const char* str); }; if user create a const object from String then there is no reason to copy the passed native string and that because he will not make any manipulation on it, the only thing he will do is get string size, string search and other functions that will not change the string.

  • Facebook Graph API With iPhone SDK

    - by Tom G
Hi, Has anyone been able to implement Facebooks Graph API in a native iPhone Application? The documentation is pretty sparse when it comes to iPhone integration, but the calls to get users information looks a lot more light weight than the previous method of using FBConnect. So i would like to use it. I have seen a few posts about but none explain you you would implement the login button as we did previously with FBConnect? If any one has achieved this or can offer me any pointers that would be brilliant Thanks Tom

  • Tomcat JMX connection - Authentication failed.

    - by ziggy
I am having some problems setting up Tomcat for JMX. I added the following properties to CATALINA_OPTS="-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=18070 -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.password.file=$CATALINA_BASE/conf/jmxremote.password -Dcom.sun .management.jmxremote.ssl=false" And have added the jmxremote.password file in to the conf directory. I wrote a client tool that connects to the JMX server running on port 18070. When i run the client program i get the following error. Exception in thread "main" java.lang.SecurityException: Authentication failed! Credentials required at com.sun.jmx.remote.security.JMXPluggableAuthenticator.authenticationFailure(JMXPluggableAuthenticator.java:193) at com.sun.jmx.remote.security.JMXPluggableAuthenticator.authenticate(JMXPluggableAuthenticator.java:145) at sun.management.jmxremote.ConnectorBootstrap$AccessFileCheckerAuthenticator.authenticate(ConnectorBootstrap.java:185) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIServerImpl.doNewClient(RMIServerImpl.java:213) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIServerImpl.newClient(RMIServerImpl.java:180) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at sun.rmi.server.UnicastServerRef.dispatch(UnicastServerRef.java:305) at sun.rmi.transport.Transport$1.run(Transport.java:159) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at sun.rmi.transport.Transport.serviceCall(Transport.java:155) at sun.rmi.transport.tcp.TCPTransport.handleMessages(TCPTransport.java:535) at sun.rmi.transport.tcp.TCPTransport$ConnectionHandler.run0(TCPTransport.java:790) at sun.rmi.transport.tcp.TCPTransport$ConnectionHandler.run(TCPTransport.java:649) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:885) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:907) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) at sun.rmi.transport.StreamRemoteCall.exceptionReceivedFromServer(StreamRemoteCall.java:255) at sun.rmi.transport.StreamRemoteCall.executeCall(StreamRemoteCall.java:233) at sun.rmi.server.UnicastRef.invoke(UnicastRef.java:142) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIServerImpl_Stub.newClient(Unknown Source) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnector.getConnection(RMIConnector.java:2312) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnector.connect(RMIConnector.java:277) at javax.management.remote.JMXConnectorFactory.connect(JMXConnectorFactory.java:248) at com.bt.c21sc.c21tkprobe.accessors.C21TkProbeJmxDAO.connect(Unknown Source) at com.bt.c21sc.c21tkprobe.service.C21TkProbeBD.execute(Unknown Source) at com.bt.c21sc.c21tkprobe.C21AppserverProbe.main(Unknown Source) If i change the CATALINA_OPTS properties to CATALINA_OPTS="-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=18070 -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.password.file=$CATALINA_BASE/conf/jmxremote.password -Dcom.sun .management.jmxremote.ssl=false -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false" Then it works fine. I think what i am confused of is what is classed as remote access. I am running the client program away from the Tomcat instance but both Tomcat and the client tool are on the same machine (i.e. different virtual machines but same environemnt). I thought i had to configure the remote authentication if i access the JMX server remotely from a different machine. By remote access do they mean accessing the JMX server from any VM either locally or remotely?

  • Android non-full screen app startup during voice call

    - by STeN
Hello, Is it possible to start the application on the Android phone (starting with Froyo), when there is an incoming voice call? In other words, the incoming voice call should trigger the application startup. In such a case the application should not be full-screen, but should cover only part of the screen to not hide the native controls for accepting or rejecting the call. If it is not supported now - is anybody aware about some plans to support such a feature in future releases? Thanks a lot Kind Regards, STeN

I am using Ant 1.7.0 and cobertura 1.9.2. Any ideas why there is no coverage? Test run ok as I see in my target. I have tried to switch java versions ( 1.5.0_06 and 1.6.0_10) but no difference.

  • Is there a faster way to launch Activity on Android when using maven?

    - by Kamilski81
    Within Eclipse, everything works perfectly when I run 'mvn install android:deploy'...however, this takes about 18 seconds to complete. Is there a faster way to launch my android application. When I try to run my main Activity via 'Android Application' I get a huge stack trace: 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): FATAL EXCEPTION: main 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to instantiate activity ComponentInfo{com.soraapps.android.purseprideapp/com.soraapps.android.purseprideapp.PursePrideActivity}: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.soraapps.android.purseprideapp.PursePrideActivity in loader dalvik.system.PathClassLoader[/data/app/com.soraapps.android.purseprideapp-2.apk] 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:1569) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:1663) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at android.app.ActivityThread.access$1500(ActivityThread.java:117) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at android.app.ActivityThread$H.handleMessage(ActivityThread.java:931) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:3683) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:507) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:839) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:597) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.soraapps.android.purseprideapp.PursePrideActivity in loader dalvik.system.PathClassLoader[/data/app/com.soraapps.android.purseprideapp-2.apk] 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at dalvik.system.PathClassLoader.findClass(PathClassLoader.java:240) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:551) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:511) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at android.app.Instrumentation.newActivity(Instrumentation.java:1021) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:1561) 09-05 14:03:09.915: E/AndroidRuntime(689): ... 11 more Here is my pom.xml: https://gist.github.com/3656482 And here is what my files look like after I try building and running the project.
