  • A doubt on DOM parser used with Python

    I'm using the following python code to search for a node in an XML file and changing the value of an attribute of one of it's children.Changes are happening correctly when the node is displayed using toxml().But, when it is written to a file, the attributes rearrange themselves(as seen in the Source and the Final XML below). Could anyone explain how and why this happen?   • Ruby ROXML - how to get an array to render its xml?

    I'm trying to create a Messages object that inherits Array. The messages will gather a group of Message objects. I'm trying to create an xml output with ROXML that looks like this: <messages> <message> <type></type> <code></code> <body></body> </message> ... </messages> However, I can't figure out how to get the message objects in the Messages object to display in the xml. Here is the code I've been working with: require 'roxml' class Message include ROXML xml_accessor :type xml_accessor :code xml_accessor :body end class Messages < Array include ROXML # I think this is the problem - but how do I tell ROXML that # the messages are in this instance of array? xml_accessor :messages, :as => [Message] def add(message) self << message end end message = Message.new message.type = "error" message.code = "1234" message.body = "This is a test message." messages = Messages.new messages.add message puts messages.length puts messages.to_xml This outputs: 1 <messages/> So, the message object I added to messages isn't getting displayed.   • Printing JTables without formatting of the original component

    I'm writing an application which utilises tables which can be printed if the user so desires and I wish to print a JTable filled with data, except I haven't been able to find an option to remove the formatting; the printed tables looks like it does in the GUI (based on the system theme) which is making the table less readable and using excess ink. I wish to print the same data with clear formatting. Is there a way to do this straight from a JTable or is my best option simply to print to a file and have the use printer from there. Currently it functions through a viewer which gives the user some options for printing, and then it goes to the system's printer.

I have say 1000 info elements in a file Please give me a sample code because I have already tried using simplexml and read the documentation but doesn't see to understand it properly

  • Visual Studio Config File Editor - Not Formatting

    Hi All, My VS 2008 seems to be acting a bit weird and the solution is eluding me. The problem is that if I open a config file; app.config or web.config, this looks and behaves as a plain text document. I have no formatting, no coloring, no intellisense and no collapsible or expandable regions. I have reset all setting and restored default file associations. If I go into the setting menu, Text Editor, XML, formatting I see an error "An error occurred loading this property page" Has any one seen this before and have you go a solution. Thanks

    I need some assistance converting an xml document to a CSV file using an xslt stylesheet. I am trying to use the following xsl and I can't seem to get it right. I want my comma delimited file to include column headings, followed by the data. My biggest issues are removing the final comma after the last item and inserting a carriage return so each group of data appears on a separate line.     A set of forms (using Zend_Form) that I have been working on were causing me some headaches trying to figure out what was wrong with my XML configuration, as I kept getting unexpected HTML output for a particular INPUT element. It was supposed to be getting a default value, but nothing appeared. It appears that the following 2 pieces of XML are not equal when used to instantiate Zend_Form: Snippet #1: <form> <elements> <test type="hidden"> <options ignore="true" value="foo"/> </test> </elements> </form> Snippet #2: <form> <elements> <test type="hidden"> <options ignore="true"> <value>foo</value> </options> </test> </elements> </form> The type of the element doesn't appear to make a difference, so it doesn't appear to be related to hidden fields. Is this expected or not?

Currently I am trying to copy file structures of hard drives as XML files and recreate them using jsTree on the webserver for a completely independent version of the file structure. I have some python script that outputs XML files that are formed to jsTree and automatically uploads to a folder on the server. The problem is now I am a little lost because I have to manually enter each XML file into jsTree code for it to display so I have multiple entries like this: $("#tree1") .jstree({ "plugins" : [ "themes", "xml_data", "ui", "search", "types" ], "xml_data" : { "ajax" : { "url" : "./XML_DATA/DRIVE1.xml" }, "xsl" : "nest" }, I see in the documentation that instead of populated by the direct file the folders are populated by "server.php" but no where in the php code does it point to any directories or files. After considering the problem I thought of a few solutions and could use some advice on them: Should I be trying to write php code to automatically look through my XML_DATA folder to upload each XML file? Should I just upload all the XML to mySQL and populate my tree based on that? Should the javascript be the code looking through the server's folder for XML files? All the XML is formed the same way but the number of XML files on the server will increase and will have to be refreshed as well as they will be overwritten with changes.   • Are there any free Xml Diff/Merge tools available?

    I have several config files in my .net applications which I would like to merge application settings elements etc. I was about to begin doing it manually as I usually do, however thought there must be an XML diff GUI tool available somewhere. The tool would be able to go to the element level to compare and display the differences etc. However Google gave no substantive free tool results and no hints for anything of value. Is such a tool available? That is very useful? For free? Thanks in advance. :) Edit: Here is a bit of clarification of the functionality that would turn my error-prone, tedious manual job into a 1-minute simpler task (and potential to automate): In KDiff3, you can do a diff/merge of entire directories. There is a hierarchical diff which is very accurate, user-friendly and clear. I was interested in finding a similar solution, however instead of directory hierarchy, an XML element hierarchy. If there is no such open source software, I am considering creating one on CodePlex to provide this functionality.

  • Get "2:35pm" instead of "02:35PM" from Python date/time?

    I'm still a bit slow with Python, so I haven't got this figured out beyond what's obviously in the docs, etc. I've worked with Django a bit, where they've added some datetime formatting options via template tags, but in regular python code how can I get the 12-hour hour without a leading zero? Is there a straightforward way to do this? I'm looking at the 2.5 and 2.6 docs for "strftime()" and there doesn't seem to be a formatting option there for this case. Should I be using something else? Feel free to include any other time-formatting tips that aren't obvious from the docs. =)

    The subject is probably too short to explain it... I'm writing out XML files with no namespace stuff at all, for some application. That part I cannot change. But now I'm going to extend those files with my own application-defined element names, and I'd like to put them in a different namespace. For this, the result should look like this: <doc xmlns:x="urn:my-app-uri"> <a>existing element name</a> <x:addon>my additional element name</x:addon> </doc> I've used an XmlNamespaceManager and added my URI with the prefix "x" to it. I've also passed it to each CreateElement for my additional element names. But the nearest I can get is this: <doc> <a>existing element name</a> <addon xmlns="urn:my-app-uri">my additional element name</addon> </doc> Or maybe also <x:addon xmlns:x="urn:my-app-uri">my additional element name</x:addon> So the point is that my URI is written to every single of my additional elements, and no common prefix is written to the document element where I'd like to have it. How can I get the above XML result with .NET?

  • Are "strings.xml" string arrays always parsed/deserialized in the same order?

    Can I count on string arrays within the "strings.xml" resource file to be parsed/deserialized in the same order every time? If anyone can cite any documentation that clearly spells out this guarantee, I'd appreciate it. Or, at the very least, offer a significant amount of experience with this topic. Also, is this a best practice or am I missing a simpler solution?
