    Hi, I want to reinstall Ubuntu keeping my data intact. I have 160 GB hardrive (sata or pata I don't know but it's slim and made in China) with a 40 GB ext3 partition, a 4GB swap memory and 3 other partition with a FAT32 file system. I have around 4GB space on my drive where Linux is installed. I'd like to keep the data intact, especially the Downloads folder, desktop, and /var/www; And I no longer have access to any other machines or external storage devices.

    Hi my sisters house was robbed chrismas evening :( I talked with her about making a surveillance system for her. The idea is to have a system that detects intruders and then send a SMS to you while streaming it to a private website. The hard part: How and where do I storage the data from the camera so it's streamable? I think i can manage to do the streaming, website and SMS server, but i need the data (fundamentation).     In a Lift application, I’d like to add a special tag which takes the <tbody> part of the next table and adds odd and even classes (for example) to each <tr> tag. Alternating, of course. While I have found a way to add another attribute to all <tr> tags, there are still a few problems left (see code below). First, it doesn’t work. cycle.next is called too often, so in the end, everything is an odd row. Other problems are that the code doesn’t exclude inner tables (so a nested <tr> would be transformed as well) and that it also affects the <thead> part of the table. Ideas to make this code work?   • How can I programmatically copy all of the style attributes from one DOM element to another

    I have a page with two frames, and I need to (via javascript) copy an element and all of its nested elements (it's a ul/li tree) and most importantly it's style from one frame to the other. I get all the content via assigning innerhtml, and I am able to position the new element in the second frame with dest.style.left and dest.style.top and it works. But I'm trying to get all the style information and nothing's happening. I'm using getComputedStyle to get the final style for each source element as I loop through each node then and assigning them to the same position in the destination nodelist and nothing happens to visually change the style. What am I missing?

  • Combining RequiresSTA and Timeout attributes on a test fails

    I have a test that opens and closes a WPF Window and thus requires the STA threading apartment. To safeguard the test against the window staying open (and thus hang the test indefinitely) I wanted to use the Timeout attribute. The problem is that applying the Timeout attribute causes the test to fail on timeout regardless of whether the test works or not. Without the attribute everything works fine. My theory is that Timeout causes the test to be executed on a new thread that does not inherit the STA apartment. Is there another way to have both STA and the timeout safeguard in NUnit?     Which of the two methods of dta transfer trasfers data at a faster rate for smartphones and tablets? Standard WIFI, or MicroSD Cards? I wonder if it would be actually faster to access data on external storage then it would be to have the MicroSD card in my smartphone or tablet. Currently I have a class 10 32GB MicroSD card in my cell phone. I am looking to get the new Google Nexus tablet but it does not offer expandable internal storage. I wonder if that's really a detriment; because if WIFI is faster than MicroSD, then it would matter almost none at all that you couldn't expand the storage internally. If the case is that WIFI is faster, and people caught onto this, then people could save a lot of money on lower memory ipads/iphones/ipods, tablets, and smartphones!

    At Pass Summit 2011 a new project was announced. It’s a Microsoft SQL Azure Lab and its codename is Microsoft “Data Explorer”. According to the official blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dataexplorer/), this new tool provides an innovative way to acquire new knowledge from the data that interest you. In a nutshell, Data Explorer allows you to combine data from multiple sources, to publish and share the result. In addition, you can generate data streams in the RESTful open format (Open Data Protocol), and they can then be used by other applications. Nonetheless we can still use Excel or PowerPivot to analyze the results. Sources can be varied: Excel spreadsheets, text files, databases, Windows Azure Marketplace, etc.. For those who are not familiar with this resource, I strongly suggest you to keep an eye on the data services available to the Marketplace: https://datamarket.azure.com/browse/Data To tell the truth, as I read the above blog post, I was tempted to think of the Data Explorer as a "SSIS on Azure" addressed to the Power User. In fact, reading the response from Tim Mallalieu (Group Program Manager of Data Explorer) to the comment made to his post, I had a positive response to my first impression: “…we originally thinking of ourselves as Self-Service ETL. As we talked to more folks and started partnering with other teams we realized that would be an area that we can add value but that there were more opportunities emerging.” The typical operations of the ETL phase ( processing and organization of data in different formats) can be obtained thanks to Data Explorer Mashup. This is an image of the tool: The flexibility in the manipulation of information is given by Data Explorer Formula Language.     I have a class method that deals with dates: public function setAvailability(DateTime $start, DateTime $end){ } Since item availability can have lower limit, upper limit, both or none, I'd like to make setAvailability() accept NULL values as well. However, the NULL constant violates the type hinting: $foo->setAvailability(NULL, $end); triggers: Catchable fatal error: Argument 1 passed to Foo::setAvailability() must be an instance of DateTime, null given And, as far as I know, I cannot have a DateTime instance with no value. (Can I?) For a reason I cannot grasp, this seems to work: public function setAvailability(DateTime $start=NULL, DateTime $end=NULL){ } ... $foo->setAvailability(NULL, $end); But it looks like a hack that works by pure chance. How would you deal with unset dates in PHP classes?

  • Neo4j+Gremlin : Trouble with T.gte and floating point node attributes

    For a type of nodes in my graph, attribute values for an attribute(named 'some_count') is either missing or an integer or a float. I'm trying to write gremlin to filter these nodes based on minimum value for this attribute. I first verified that the values are indeed present by firing the following gremlin g.v(XXX)._().in('category').hasNot('some_count', T.eq, null).back(1).some_count Next, I tried filtering by exact value and that works and show me the matching nodes or gives an empty array if there is no match g.v(XXX)._().in('category').hasNot('some_count', T.eq, null).back(1).has('some_count', T.eq, 120000.0d) But the following query that uses the 'greater than or equal to' comparator doesn't work. g.v(XXX)._().in('category').hasNot('some_count', T.eq, null).back(1).has('some_count', T.gte, 1.0d) this returns nil (I'm querying via ruby/rails using Neo4j AR Adapter ) Instead of returning an empty array for no match, it returns a nil, which tells me something could be wrong with the query itself. I'm running neo4j community server 1.8. Is there a way I can ask Neo4j to log errors/queries, to see what could be going wrong ?
