• Auto enter pass phrase in case of Python ssl Client/Server

  I need to create Client/Server application to send files from clients to Server. I use simple ssl sockets for that and authenticate with certificates. ms = socket.socket(socket.AF_INET, socket.SOCK_STREAM) ssl_sock = ssl.wrap_socket(ms, keyfile=".../newCA/my_client.key", certfile=".../newCA/my_client.crt", server_side=0, cert_reqs=ssl.CERT_REQUIRED, ca_certs=".../newCA/CA/my-ca.crt" ) ssl_sock.connect((HOST, MPORT)) And Server side: msock = socket.socket(socket.AF_INET, socket.SOCK_STREAM) self.ssl_sock = ssl.wrap_socket(msock, keyfile=".../newCA/my_server.key", certfile=".../newCA/my_server.crt", server_side=1, cert_reqs=ssl.CERT_REQUIRED, ca_certs=".../newCA/CA/my-ca.crt" ) self.ssl_sock.bind(('', self.PORT)) self.ssl_sock.listen(self.QUEUE_MAX) The problem is the following: when client tries to connect to Server, it requires Enter the pass phrase for private key for Both: for Server-side and Client-side. In Java we need to set System Property: javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword="" and it has to be used automatically, But how is it been used in Python? I can't enter pass phrase all time the client connects.

• ASP.NET MVC 2 - Checkboxes

  I'm using string[] roles = Roles.GetAllRoles() to get a string[] of all the ASP.NET membership roles for my application. I'm sending the roles to my view in ViewData and using a foreach to create a set of Checkboxes using <%: Html.CheckBox("RoleCheckBox") %>. There are 3 roles and my view does render 3 checkboxes. When I do a View/Source, I see the checkboxes and their corresponding hidden tags. They all have the same, so there are 6 tags with the name "RoleCheckBox" - 3 that render the checkboxes and 3 that are hidden. The problem comes when I post the form back to my controller and bind the results - something like public ActionResult Create(Person person, string[] RoleCheckBox). I get FOUR strings and I have no idea where the fourth string ("false") is coming from. I could do some testing by trying various combinations of checks to see which one (hopefully) doesn't change and ignore it but that's just ugly. Does anyone know why this would be happening? • WPF - How do I style a row based on a binding property value?

  Hey! So I am trying to bind a collection of objects (IList<) to a WPF datagrid. I would like to make the row background a different color if the 'artist' property is null or empty. I am checking the value stored at the property on the LoadingRow datagrid event. Currently my implementation seems to style all of the rows with an empty or null 'artist' property correctly. The problem is that is also styles the rows where the property is not null or empty in some cases. So some rows are given the red background even though the rows 'artist' property is not null. Can anyone tell me why this could be?? • How to manage toolbars with mvvm and WPF

  I'm looking for a smooth method of managing toolbars (and menus) with mvvm in WPF. Consider an UI with tabbed workspaces and heterogenous content (like Visual Studio). There the toolbars should be hidden or visible depending on the active tab. How would you design the view viewmodel for the toolbars? I'd use a collection of toolbar-viewmodels and bind the ToolbarTray to it, but afaik that's not possible. Any recommendations are apreciated. Links to samples, best practice papers, etc. are welcome.

• How to set up a has-many relationship in Cocoa?

  I'm building a (very) simple FTP app in Cocoa, and I need to store information on the different types of servers that are supported. So, I've created a ServerType class, which stores all of the relevant information about a single type of server. I then have a ServerTypes class which is designed to manage all of the ServerType classes that are created. My question is how to set up the relationship between the two objects. Is there a preferred method to do so? Also, since Objective-C doesn't support non-instance classes, where should I create an instance of ServerTypes that will have to be used throughout the entire program? Or is there a better way to do that? I need it to be KVC compliant so That I can bind one of the ServerType properties to an NSPopupBox. Sorry about the large volume of questions, I'm fairly new to Cocoa and Objective-C. If you need to see code, just ask and I'll be happy to add some. :) SphereCat1

• Binding Navigation Property with Entity Framework

  Hi, I have another question about binding using C# and the entity framework. Here, I'm looking to bind a navigation property to a listbox or a listview. I saw on different posts that if I update the collection using code behind the list would not be notified because the collection does not handle notification (it's always the same problem anyway). People suggested to use an ObservableCollection for example, but, and here is my question, this comes down to basically duplicate the collection and hence, if I modify it, I'd have to handle in code-behind the fact that the change has also to be applied to the "original" navigation property right? If that's the case, I was thinking: why not create a custom property called, say, MyObservableNavigationProperty in a partial class. I could then interact only with this collection, catch the event when the collection is changed and apply the change to the "original" collection. Is that a nice way to do the trick? or am I getting all confused here....

  I've noticed that MySql has an extensive search capacity, allowing both wildcards and regular expressions. However, I'm in somewhat in a bind since I'm trying to extract multiple values from a single string in my select query. For example, if I had the text "<span>Test</span> this <span>query</span>", perhaps using regular expressions I could find and extract values "Test" or "query", but in my case, I have potentially n such strings to extract. And since I can't define n columns in my select statement, that means I'm stuck. Is there anyway I could have a list of values (ideally separated by commas) of any text contained with span tags? In other words, if I ran this query, I would get "Test,query" as the value of spanlist: select <insert logic here> as spanlist from HtmlPages ...

• Trigger the change event of a textbox in jQuery

  I have an asp:TextBox with asp:RegularExpressionValidator to validate if it's a number. Obviously an onchange event will be attached to this textbox while rendering. Also I add a change event at $(document).ready to make some calculation when the value is changed. <asp:TextBox id="myText" runat="server" /> <asp:regularexpressionvalidator id="myRev" ControlToValidate="myText" runat="server">*</asp:regularexpressionvalidator> $(document).ready(function(){ $('[id$=myText]').bind('change',function(){ //do something }).change(); //force the change event at the very beginning }); My function will be executed later than the .net generated js because of the register time. But the .net js throws an error. I traced in the js: function ValidatorOnChange(event) { ... } and found that all of event.fromElement,event.toElement,event.srcElement are null which causes the exception. Did I do something wrong?   I'm working on an asp.net mvc application. Each user have his own time zone. Right now, I'm using "TimeZoneInfo.GetSystemTimeZones" to generate a drop down list in order for the user to select a timezone and this is what I store in my db They are like that: Morocco Standard Time (00:00:00) UTC (00:00:00) GMT Standard Time (00:00:00) ... I know that php use a different timezone set, they are "region timezone", for example: Europe/Paris Europe/London ... My question is: is there a way to play with the region timezone (like php) in an .NET application? The only way I can think of is to bind each php region timezone to the .net timezone. Also, the "TimeZoneInfo.GetSystemTimeZones" list all of the timezone on the machine. Is the list different between windows server, windows vista, windows xp? Hope this make sense, thanks guys

• Why is the binding icon not visible in blend?

  Hello, Why is the binding icon (a small gray icon) not visible in blend for some properties even though they are DependencyProperties? For eg. I dragged a button on my page and dragged a textbox. I want to bind button's content property to textbox's text property. But i can't find the Binding icon in Blend. I know if i type the binding syntax in code it will work just fine. But why is that icon missing? Thanks in advance :)

• keypress event not being triggered only at start and end of text field in Firefox (JQuery)

  I'm listening for keypress events on an input field with delegation. For some reason, Firefox doesn't trigger the delegated event for cursor UP when at the start of the field, or cursor DOWN when at the end. LEFT and RIGHT work as expected all the time. Directly binding an event listener to the field works fine, so it has to be something to do with delegation.   When it comes to web development I have always tried to work SMART not HARD. So for along time My Aproach to interacting with databases in my AspNet projects has been this : 1) Create my stored procedures 2) Drag an SQLDatasource control on my aspx page 3) Bind a DataList Control to my SQLDatasource 4) Insert, Update & Delete by using my Datalist or programmatically using built in SQLDatasource methods e.g MySqlDataSource.InsertParameters["author"].DefaultValue = TextBox1.Text; MySqlDataSource.Insert(); Recently however I got a relatively easy web project. So I decided to employ a 3-tier Model...But I got exhausted halfway and just didnt seem worth it ! It seemed like I was working too HARD for a project that could have been easily accomplished by a couple of SqlDataSource Controls. So Why Is the N-Tier Model better than my Approach? Has it anything to do with performance? What are the advantages of the ObjectDataSource control over the SqlDataSource Control?

• Why can't I expose an interface in a .NET asmx web service?

  I have a .NET web service (using asmx...have not upgraded to WCF yet) that exposes the following: public class WidgetVersion1 : IWidget {} public class WidgetVersion2 : IWidget {} When I attempt to bind to the web service, I get the following serialization error: Cannot serialize member WidgetVersion1 of type IWidget because it is an interface. I have tried adding various attributes to the IWidget interface (XmlIgnore, SoapIgnore, NonSerialized), but they are not valid on an interface. Does anyone know why I am unable to expose the interface? I assume WSDL does not support interfaces, but couldn't .NET get around this by simply not serializing the interface? Are there any ways around this apart from removing the IWidget interface from the WidgetVersion1 and WidgetVersion2 class definitions?

• Render asp.net repeater as-and-when chunks of html is ready (streaming)

  The problem is to render huge reports. Basically we have lots of data that get rendered in html reports (mostly using repeater or gridview). As it so happens, the data started out small and now we have tons of it. There are lots of such reports already built so total rewrite is not an option. Heck, the business is not even letting us page the data. Now server memory is shooting up each time we try to render some reports. So the question is - is there some way we can bind data to repeater and have it stream html to browser as and when chunks are ready? That way we hope to not bring all that data into app server at once. I'm thinking we'll use a datareader or something to get parts of data and render it to browser. Any pointers, links, ideas?
