    I have a custom class loader which extends from a URLClassLoader. I added a .class file to the urlpath using addURL(); but when i do a class.forname() using this loader i get a ClassNotFoundException. However, if i create a jar and add the jar to the urlpath, i do not get any exception. What can be added to the urlpath of a URLClassLoader usign addURL()

  • executing a class in remote jvm

    Hi All, I have a small test class that i want to run on a particular jvm that's already up and running (basically it's an web application running on Tomcat) . The reason i want to do this is i want to execute a small test class (with the main method and all) within that jvm so that i get the same environment (loaded and initialized classes) for my test class. Is it possible to indicate that ,say through a jvm parameter, that it should not initialize a new vm to execute my class but instead go and execute on the remote vm and show me the result here, on my console. So the local jvm acts as a kind of thin proxy ? I am not aware in case there are some tools that should make this possible ... also heard somewhere that java 6 jvm comes with an option like this , is that true ?? Please help me. Thanks,

    I'm trying to use member variables of a templated base class in a derived class, as in this example: template <class dtype> struct A { int x; }; template <class dtype> struct B : public A<dtype> { void test() { int id1 = this->x; // always works int id2 = A<dtype>::x; // always works int id3 = B::x; // always works int id4 = x; // fails in gcc & clang, works in icc and xlc } }; gcc and clang are both very picky about using this variable, and require either an explicit scope or the explicit use of "this". With some other compilers (xlc and icc), things work as I would expect. Is this a case of xlc and icc allowing code that's not standard, or a bug in gcc and clang?

    How can I interact with objects I've created based on their given attributes in Ruby? To give some context, I'm parsing a text file that might have several hundred entries like the following: ASIN: B00137RNIQ -------------------------Status Info------------------------- Upload created: 2010-04-09 09:33:45 Upload state: Imported Upload state id: 3 I can parse the above with regular expressions and use the data to create new objects in a "Product" class: class Product attr_reader :asin, :creation_date, :upload_state, :upload_state_id def initialize(asin, creation_date, upload_state, upload_state_id) @asin = asin @creation_date = creation_date @upload_state = upload_state @upload_state_id = upload_state_id end end After parsing, the raw text from above will be stored in an object that look like this: [#<Product:0x00000101006ef8 @asin="B00137RNIQ", @creation_date="2010-04-09 09:33:45 ", @upload_state="Imported ", @upload_state_id="3">] How can I then interact with the newly created class objects? For example, how might I pull all the creation dates for objects with an upload_state_id of 3? I get the feeling I'm going to have to write class methods, but I'm a bit stuck on where to start.

  • using AsyncTask class for parallel operationand displaying a progress bar

    I am displaying a progress bar using Async task class and simulatneously in parallel operation , i want to retrieve a string array from a function of another class that takes some time to return the string array. The problem is that when i place the function call in doing backgroung function of AsyncTask class , it gives an error in Doing Background and gives the message as cant change the UI in doing Background .. Therefore , i placed the function call in post Execute method of Asynctask class . It doesnot give an error but after the progress bar has reached 100% , then the screen goes black and takes some time to start the new activity.     When you create and use a Web Service proxy class in the ASP.Net framework, the class ultimately inherits from Component, which implements IDisposable. I have never seen one example online where people dispose of a web proxy class, but was wondering if it really needs to be done. When I call only one method, I normally wrap it in a using statement, but if I have a need to call it several times throughout the page, I might end up using the same instance, and just wondered what the ramifications are of not disposing it.

    I have a class Bar: class Bar { public: Bar(void); ~Bar(void); }; And a class Foo that gets a reference to Bar object as a constructor parameter and needs to save it in a private member bar_ : class Foo { private: Bar& bar_; public: Foo(Bar& bar) : bar_(bar) {} ~Foo(void) {} }; This doesn't compile : overloaded member function not found in 'Parser' missing type specifier - int assumed. Note: C++ does not support default-int Now i suspect couple of things that i need to assure, the second error is for Bar& bar_; declaration in Foo. Do i need to use an explicit constructor when declaring bar_ ? I am interested in learning how the compiler works regarding this matter, so a detailed explanation would be highly appreciated.     I have a class which has a static const array, it has to be initialized outside the class: class foo{ static const int array[3]; }; const int foo::array[3] = { 1, 2, 3 }; But then I get a duplicate symbol foo::array in foo.o and main.o foo.o hold the foo class, and main.o holds main() and uses instances of foo. How can I share this static const array between all instances of foo? I mean, that's the idea of a static member.

  • C++ Changing a class in a dll where a pointer to that class is returned to other dlls...

    Hello, Horrible title I know, horrible question too. I'm working with a bit of software where a dll returns a ptr to an internal class. Other dlls (calling dlls) then use this pointer to call methods of that class directly: //dll 1 internalclass m_class; internalclass* getInternalObject() { return &m_class; } //dll 2 internalclass* classptr = getInternalObject(); classptr->method(); This smells pretty bad to me but it's what I've got... I want to add a new method to internalclass as one of the calling dlls needs additional functionality. I'm certain that all dlls that access this class will need to be rebuilt after the new method is included but I can't work out the logic of why. My thinking is it's something to do with the already compiled calling dll having the physical address of each function within internalclass in the other dll but I don't really understand it; is anyone here able to provide a concise explanation of how the dlls (new internal class dll, rebuilt calling dll and calling dll built with previous version of the internal class dll) would fit together?     I have created selectOneMenuItem(JSF).I placed my events on valueChangeListener / onchange like that <h:selectOneMenu id="ddl" value="#{Foo.attr}" onchange="submit()" valueChangeListener="#{Foo.renderFoo}"> When I select one vlaue from selectOneMenuItem then event fires.Now when I reselect that value ,then event doesn't fire (because this is the valueChangeListener event) so it doesn't fire.I want that event should fire on every selection even on again the same selection.I found onselect but unable to find that is it right and how can i use this onselect.Anyu help would be greatly appreciable
