• Xcode 3.2 not recompiling changed files

  I've been programming a new iPhone application and everything has been chugging along fine, until this afternoon when I noticed that any changes I was making were not being reflected in the actual app! Even code that throws errors isn't getting picked up by the compiler. To get around this, I have taken to the following procedure: Finish making my edits, and add code to the file which will always throw a compiler error. Right-click the file I have just edited, and hit "Compile" to just compile that one file; it will throw the error. Remove the error-producing code, and again right-click and "Compile" the one file. Build the whole project This is quite annoying, and I can't figure out why this would suddenly happen to my Xcode project. Any thoughts on what could be causing this, and how to fix it?

• Compiling C-dll for Python OR SWIG-module creation, how to continue ??

  I reference this file "kbdext.c" and its headerfile listed on http://www.docdroppers.org/wiki/index.php?title=Writing_Keyloggers (the listings are at the bottom). I've been trying to compile this into a dll for use in Python or Visual Basic, but have not succeeded. I'm not familiar with C or GCC to sort out the problems or do the dll compile correctly. (I also get an error about snprintf not being declared when doing a regular compile of all the files). What are the steps I should do to make all functions available for other languages and external apps? Or is it perhaps easier to use SWIG and make a python module, instead of compiling a DLL?

• Silverlight, MSBuild, VS and some shared files. How?

  I have a VS project used for my .NET WCF host with some simple DTOs in it. I then have another project targeted for Silverlight with links to the files from the .NET-project. What's the best way automate the build, so that all files from the .NET project are automatically built to a Silverlight assembly too? I have tried the following in the Silverlight-library project: <Compile Include="..\KSLog.Core.Services.Shared\**\*.cs" Exclude="..\KSLog.Core.Services.Shared\Properties\AssemblyInfo.cs"></Compile> But when I do a build or a rebuild of the solution new files in the .NET project are not automatically added to the Silverlight project, and if I have deleted files in the .NET project, I get a compile error, saying the file is not found in the Silverlight project. Can I make it automatically update it self in some way? Or am I doing it all wrong?

  I have some text; I want to extract pairs of words that are not separated by punctuation.   Hi All, I am setting up a Continuous Integration server. I have one issue that doesn't seem to be mentioned in the tutorials. I have a ASP.net Web Application that I need to compile and them publish. My Problem is that I seem to be able to compile the app but when I attempt to use a buildPublisher this copies every thing including .svn files & folders and ms CS files. I am using an MSBuild task to compile my source. I tried setting my MSBuild Output Directory to directory but this didn't seem to have any effect. What am I not understanding? Thanks

• Linux IPTables / routing issue

  Hi all, EDIT 1/3/10 22:00 GMT - rewrote some of it after further investigation It has been a while since I looked at IPtables and I seem to be worse than before as I can not seem to get my webserver online. Below is my firewall rules on the gateway server that is running the dhcp server accessing the net. The webserver is inside my network on a static IP (192.168.0.98, default port). When I use Nmap or GRC.com I see that port 80 is open on the gateway server but when I browse to it, (via public URL. http://www.houseofhawkins.com) it always fails with a connection error, (nmap cannot connect and figure out what the web server is either). I can nmap the webserver and browse to it just fine via same IP inside my network. I believe it is my IPTable rules that are not letting it through. Internally I can route all my requests. Each machine can browse to the website and traffic works just fine. I can MSTSC / ssh to all the webservers internally and they inturn can connect to the web. The network looked something like this: I have now replaced the sky modem with a dlink modem which gives the IP to the gateway server that now does the DHCP. It looks like: The internet connection is a standard broadband connection with a dynamic IP, (use zoneedit.com to keep it updated). I have tried it on each of the webservers(one Ubuntu Apache server and one WS2008 IIS7). I think there must also be an issue with my IPTable rules as it can route to my win7 box which has the default IIS7 page and that would not display when I forwarded all port 80 to it. • Baidu spider is hammering my server and bloating my error_log file

  I am getting the following errors in my /etc/httpd/logs/error_log file [Sun Oct 20 00:04:15 2013] [error] [client 180.76.5.16] File does not exist: /usr/local/apache/htdocs/homes [Sun Oct 20 00:08:31 2013] [error] [client 180.76.5.113] File does not exist: /usr/local/apache/htdocs/homes [Sun Oct 20 00:12:47 2013] [error] [client 180.76.5.88] File does not exist: /usr/local/apache/htdocs/homes [Sun Oct 20 00:17:07 2013] [error] [client 180.76.5.138] File does not exist: /usr/local/apache/htdocs/homes These kinds of errors are so often, that my error log files are over 500MB! I have done an IP trace on the client address to find that it belongs to something called baidu. Beijing Baidu Netcom Science and Technology Co in China. Is there a way that I can just get apache to deny any incoming requests from some crummy spider that is repeatedly hitting my site??? Is there a better way of dealing with the problem? I am happy to completely block out China if it means that I can actually track real errors.

  I have zabbix set with an item to monitor a log file on a zabbix client: log["/var/log/program_name/client.log","ERROR:","UTF-8",100] And a trigger to determine when that log file get's more ERRORs: {Template_Linux:log["/var/log/program_name/client.log","ERROR:","UTF-8",100].change(0)}#0 This trigger gets tripped when the log file gets ERRORs the first time, but then that first trigger just sits around for ever in Monitoring-Triggers. My understanding is that the next time the server checks the value of log["/var/log/program_name/client.log","ERROR:","UTF-8",100] and sees that it hasn't changed that the trigger would go away. Obviously this isn't the case. Could someone explain why this first trigger isn't going away? Ultimately my goal is to receive an email whenever ERRORs are added to that log file, but I would like to understand how triggers are working first.

  I have windows XP professional installed on my desktop. It shows up the following errors - Physical memory dumping blue screen. : This aint a new problem, i have been facing this problem ever since i bought this systme. initially the maintainence guy said it was a faulty hard drive and i have got it replaced 3 times already in the past 1 yr. • Sql Server database logs "missing"

  Here's the problem we're having: In the applications that are using the databases we get errors like: The log for database 'redactedDatabaseName' is not available. Check the event log for related error messages. Resolve any errors and restart the database. Cannot close event log because there are still event handle users active. The server log says this: Error: 9001, Severity: 21, State: 1. Context: The server in question is holding databases for a multi-tenant application and lately it's been under quite heavy loads. It has something like 3k small databases on it and these errors have been coming in the last week. We have a work-around right now, which is taking the database offline then bringing it online again. Any ideas why this is happening and how we can fix it?

  I'm trying to backup a bunch of MyISAM tables in a way that would allow me to rsync/rdiff the backup directory to a remote location. I've came up with a script that dumps only the recently changed tables and sets the date of the file so that rsync can pick up only the changed ones, but now I don't know how to do the error handling - I would like the script to exit with a non 0 value if there are errors. • Windows 7 will not install a root certificate

  I have a web service that uses a self-signed certificate, so I need to install the certificate as a Trusted Root so that I can avoid all the security errors that having a self-signed certificate brings with it. Using Windows 7, I'm going to: Start > Internet Explorer > Run as Administrator > Tools > Internet Options > Content > Certificates > Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Import > (select file) > Next > OK, and Windows reports Import Successful However, the import is NOT successful. The certificate does not show in the list of trusted roots, and certificate errors still show up. If I import the certificate into the Trusted Publishers container, it imports correctly, but this does not solve my security errors. Any ideas?

• Why did my zpool replace never finish and what should I do now?

  I have a ZFS zpool with two disks in a mirror configuration, da0 and da1. da1 failed, and so I replaced it with da2 using zpool replace BearCow da1 da2 This ran for a few hours, during which zpool status showed that the array was being resilvered. When that finished, zpool status showed that the resilver was completed, but the array was still degraded... • HTTP 401 error in Windows Authentication disappears after swapping Providers

  The IIS 7 on Windows 2008 R2 is acting really weird. We deploy our web apps as web sites with appcmd.exe. After they are deployed, if I browse to them, I'll get HTTP 401 errors. The web sites are only have Windows Authentication enabled and the providers are Negotiate and NTLM in such order. But if I swap the providers, the HTTP 401 error goes away. Even if I swap it back, the errors are still gone. So the order of the providers doesn't seem to matter, what matters is the swapping. It must have triggered something. Even if we delete the web site and application pool and reinstall the web sites, the errors are still gone. So far, we can't reproduce it easily since it happens randomly. Has anyone experienced this? How do I go about to troubleshoot it?

  Our config is currently: 1 Windows 2000 domain controller running ISA2000, dhcp, dns 1 Windows 2003 domain controller as main file server, prob cert server as well, dhcp, dns 1 Windows 2008/Exchange2010 domain controller as Exchange server, DHCP,DNS Currently getting FRS errors on files server journalwrap error Currently getting FRS errors on othe DC's can't replicate from above Exchange DC holds Schema, rid,pdc, and infastructure roles File Server holds Domain namaing operation master role WOW, I didn't set this up, just inherited it. Am I right to assume that fixing the FRS errors is #1, what do I need to do for that? set enable journalwrap auto restore in registry? Demote W2000 domain controller, should that have any implications for ISA? We have Forefront to be deployed but that's another day Transfer Domain Nameing Role to Exchange server (I know or think having an Exchange server as DC isn't best practive) We will be getting another server W2008 to replace current file server and I thought it could takeover all roles once deployed Demote W2k3 file server and then raise functional domain level to 2008 Am I missing anything other that the sense to walk away? • Strange Exchange 2010 Mailbox issues

  A little bit of information on my environment. I have 2 Exchange 2010 mailbox servers setup in a DAG, connected to a VNX SAN via fiber for the mailbox database disks. One of the servers seems to be working fine as it isn't throwing any similar errors but the other has been receiving strange errors in Event Viewer. I haven't been able to find a pattern to when these happen and I'm not really sure what I should be looking at to troubleshoot this. At this point I am wondering if the issue resides on the SAN or if this is because of an improper shutdown or something else on the Exchange side of things? • OpenVPN IPv6 over IPv4 tunnel

  Today I installed OpenVPN 2.3rc2 on both my windows 7 client machine and centos 6 server. This new version of OpenVPN provides full compatibility for IPv6. The Problem: I am currently able to connect to the server (through the IPv4 tunnel) and ping the IPv6 address which is assigned to my client and I can also ping the tun0 interface on the server.   I am trying to mount a loopback device on my ext4 formatted ssd drive. I get these errors when I reboot on Linux kernel 2.6.38.8 Buffer I/O error on device loop1, logical block 0 Here is what I do: dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/s/lodev bs=4096 count=250000 mkfs.ext4 /mnt/s/lodev mount -n -o loop,rw /mnt/s/lodev /mnt/test The loopback mount is successful, but on reboot I get errors as mentioned above. Even mouting with 'sync','data=writeback' does not help. I tried to losetup a device, but see the same behavior. I also reformatted the base device and created the loopback device and mounted as above, I still see these errors. I do not see them when I format them as vfat. Appreciate any suggestions on this problem.

When he locks his screen with Win+L, Windows claims he's entering wrong password when he tries to log back in. The only solution is to hard reboot the WYSE, and log back in. This reboot doesn't kill his Windows session. I've checked for errors in keyboard settings (wrong layout etc), nothing found. I suspect errors in his profile/errors in AD. I have also done dpkg -P --force-remove-reinstreq postgresql-client-9.2 in my attempt to remove everything postgres related from my server. After removing postgresql I have used dpkg --get-selections | grep postg To be sure there is nothing left and I can do a clean install. I have also made sure that the files and folders mentioned in the error message have the right permissions. The /var/log/postgresql/postgresql-9.2-main.log file is empty. I have tried installing every postgresql version from 8.3 to 9.2 and I get the same error on every time. I once managed to compile postgresql from the source provided on their website but then I encountered weird errors with psycopg2 so I figured I'd install postgresql this way and avoid those errors. Also when I type apt-get install postgresql it by default tries to install the 8.3 version even when I can find the package by typing apt-get install postgresql-9.2.

But, if I do that, I get other errors in my code, like so: Error 2 error C2664: 'D3DXCreateEffectFromFileA' : cannot convert parameter 2 from 'const wchar_t *' to 'LPCSTR' With it being accredited to the following line of code: if(FAILED(D3DXCreateEffectFromFile(m_pD3DDevice9,effectFileName.c_str(),NULL,NULL,0,NULL,&m_pCurrentEffect,&pErrorBuffer))) This if is nested within another if statement checking my effectmap list. Though it is the FAILED word with the red line. Like wise I get the another error with the following line of code: wstring effectFileName = TEXT("Sky.fx"); With the error message being: Error 1 error C2440: 'initializing' : cannot convert from 'const char [7]' to 'std::basic_string<_Elem,_Traits,_Ax' If I change it back to a Uni code character set, I get the original (fewer) errors. Leaving as a multi-byte, I get more errors. Does anyone know of a way I can fix this issue?
