  • How does Google Friend Connect accomplish cross domain communication without needing to upload a file to the client domain?

    Previously, Google's Friend Connect required users to upload a couple of files to their websites to enable cross domain communication and Facebook Connect still requires you to upload a single file to enabled it. Now, Friend Connect doesn't require any file upload... I was wondering how they were able to accomplish this. I have a flash that is going to run fullscreen in a browser and needs different kinds of keyboard input.     Hi, I'm wondering if there's a java library out there that can manipulate 3gp files. Mostly I'm interested in splitting or merging existing video files. I've looked at JMF (java media framework), but it doesn't support 3gp…and FFmpeg looks promising, but it's not clear that the library allows splitting/merging of existing files. Does such a library exist?

    Hi. I'm using sql plus to execute a query (a select) and dump the result into a file, using spool option. I have about 14 millions lines, and it takes about 12 minutes to do the dump. I was wondering if there is something to make the dump faster?   • Is it possible to search using type information in visual studio

    It comes up from time to time and I'm wondering of it's possible to use type info when searching in visual studio, or is there a plugin that includes this? I'd like to search for the phrase "x == " or "x.ToString();" where x is of type 'Person'. The normal regex searches are strictly searching the text as opposed to the content and I figured out a long time ago that any thought I have is never the first.

  • Is there a list of common object that implement IDisposable for the using statement?

    I was wondering if there was some sort of cheat sheet for which objects go well with the using statement... SQLConnection, MemoryStream, etc. Taking it one step further, it would be great to even show the other "pieces of the puzzle", like how you should actually call connection.Close() before the closing using statement bracket. Anything like that exist? If not, maybe we should make one.
