  • A question on getting number of nodes in a Binary Tree

    Dear all, I have written up two functions (pseudo code) for calculation the number of nodes and the tree height of a Binary Tree,given the root of the tree. Most importantly,the Binary Tree is represented as the First chiled/next sibling format. so struct TreeNode { Object element; TreeNode *firstChild; TreeNode *nextSibling; } Calculate the # of nodes: public int countNode(TreeNode root) { int count=0; while(root!=null) { root= root.firstChild; count++; } return count; } public int countHeight(TreeNode root) { int height=0; while(root!=null) { root= root.nextSibling; height++; } return height; } This is one of the problem I saw on an algorithm book,and my solution above seems to have some problems,also I didn't quite get the points of using this First Child/right sibling representation of Binary Tree,could you guys give me some idea and feedback,please?     I have 1 result and which i will receive in Bank account, Based on that account i have to Put a balance to user account. How can you find the Handling cost from total tried 491.50 / 0.95 = 517.36 which is wrong ? It should be 500.00 (to my expectation) User balance requires 500.00 When 500.00 selected he gets 5% discount There is a handling cost for this ex: 1) Discount: 500.00 - 5% = 475.00 2) Handling cost: (475.00 x 0.034) + 0.35 = 16.50 3) Total: 475.00 + 16.50 = 491.50 So problem is from 491.50, i have to find atleast handling cost to get promised Balance. Any solution ? Cant figure it out myself...

    So what I am trying to do is make an application (just for fun, not a lot of purpose), where when you launch it a interface comes up consisting of Username: textboxhere Password: textbox2here then a connect button, and when you fill out your information in the textboxs' then click Connect, it navigates to facebook.com and puts in your information that you defined in the textbox and logs you in. Any ideas guys?

  • SVN always getting errors when I commit (Subclipse)

    I have setup svn on my server and Subclipse at home. I am the only developer and am mainly using it for the backup and versioning features. Everytime I commit my changes I get eighter: Out Of date errors or Tree conflicts Sometimes I even delete files and they don't delete on svn, in a directory hierarchy only the very last item will delete so I have to delete each folder one at a time. How do I avoid these errors in the future? Update: Another problem I am having is that sometimes eclipse seems to sync with the server so that when I refactor a filename it goes off to the server and does something and makes me wait, which is annoying. And for clarity, this is a typical operation: I might change a filename, move a file to a different folder then change the contents of a file. I select the 'Team menu' and click 'commit'. Then I get all these errors above.

    I'd like to get the latest NHibernate build or build it by my own. The build available at SourceForge is dated by Nov 2009, although I see there was a lot of activity later, especially related to LINQ development. So what is the best option? I can: Get the latest source code and try to build it. Are there any instructions for this? Get one of latest builds shared by someone else. Are there any people maintaining such builds? Please note, that I'm not interested in 8-month old builds - I need the latest code for tests (LINQ, performance). I know there is a similar question, but it looks like top answers there are outdated.

  • Getting local My Documents folder path

    In my C++/WinAPI application I get the My Documents folder path using this code: wchar_t path[MAX_PATH]; SHGetFolderPathW(NULL,CSIDL_PERSONAL,NULL,SHGFP_TYPE_CURRENT,path); One of the users runs my program on a pc connected to his corporate network. He has the My Documents folder on a network. So my code returns something like \paq\user.name$\My Documents Though he says he has a local copy of My Documents. The problem is that when he 'swaps VPN', the online My Documents becomes unavailable and my program crashes with the system error code 64 "The specified network name is no longer available" ( it tries to write to the file opened in the online my docs folder). How can I always get the local My Documents folder path using C++/WinAPI?

    Windows 7 (and probably Windows Vista) display localized folder names using the LocalizedResourceName entry in the desktop.ini file. For my Documents folder, this looks like [.ShellClassInfo] LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21770 IconResource=%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,-112 IconFile=%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll IconIndex=-235 (see this question) This way the explorer displays the path "C:\Users\Username\Documents" as "C:\Benutzer\Username\Dokumente" on a german Windows. I wonder, if there's any build-in shell function to automatically get this localized name or, even better, transform a whole path into its localized form (best would be anything in .NET)? This is even more interesting as the LocalizedResourceName entry is only documented for Windows CE (see here). Thanks Martin

    Hi, Is there a way to get the length of a collection from this? ParallelQuery<string> Lines = File.ReadAllLines("Topics.txt").AsParallel<string>(); This has no length property. There is a count method but it takes a Func. If I don't pass a Func paremeter, I could get all the properties in the collection, but how could I not pass one in? Thanks

  • Computer/Application having trouble and getting slow while accessing Sql server through LAN, Network is fine

    Hi, I have an web project in asp.net in one of my computers which are connected internally through LAN. The database is in Sql Server kept in another computer. The LAN is connected well. There is no connection error in my programming also. But sometimes in this particular system the page is taking long time to be open, sometime it is showing some exceptions(not everytime again and again). What can be the problem? How can it be solved? The same project is running good in other computers as well. My network seems ok, as I can acccess the computer hosting SQL server.

  • Log On As A Service Permission getting removed

    We have PC's that are in a domain that run a windows service on startup. They continually are having the Log On As A Service permission removed for the domain account that is running the service. So when the PC restarts the service won't run. We can re-add the permission by hand to the Group Policy on the machine or retype the password on the service (which grants the permission) and it runs fine for a day or so. What could be removing it? Could it be a Default Policy that does not have this domain account being applied to the PCs thus removing the Log On As A Service permission?

    I'm trying to get a list of active record results to display as a plist for being consumed by the iphone. I'm using the plist gem v 3.0. My model is called Post. And I want Post.all (or any array or Posts) to display correctly as a Plist. I have it working fine for one Post instance: [http://pastie.org/580902][1] that is correct, what I would expect. To get that behavior I had to do this: class Post < ActiveRecord::Base def to_plist attributes.to_plist end end However, when I do a Post.all, I can't get it to display what I want. Here is what happens: http://pastie.org/580909 I get marshalling. I want output more like this: [http://pastie.org/580914][2] I suppose I could just iterate the result set and append the plist strings. But seems ugly, I'm sure there is a more elegant way to do this. I am rusty on Ruby right now, so the elegant way isn't obvious to me. Seems like I should be able to override ActiveRecord and make result-sets that pull back more than one record take the ActiveRecord::Base to_plist and make another to_plist implementation. In rails, this would go in environment.rb, right?

Let's say I have a theoretical, base 10, floating point calculator with the following characteristics Only 3 digits for mantissa 1 digit for exponent Sign for mantissa and exponent How would this machine compute the following? 300 + \sum_{i=1}^{100} 0.2 The correct result is 320. The machine's result is 300. But why? Can't get where the 20 goes goes missing... Thanks for your time.

" It would probably be better to use $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']; to prevent incompatibilities between servers. " what kind of compatibility issue can this be ?? Lastly, it says $_SERVER is an array with many elements but I find only the IP Address there .. does this array store anything else too??? apologies for all these questions packed in one .. this is bcoz these are all related ..

    I need to retrieve my data from a ListView control set up in Details mode with 5 columns. I tried using this code: MessageBox.Show(ManageList.SelectedItems(0).Text) And it works, but only for the first selected item (item 0). If I try this: MessageBox.Show(ManageList.SelectedItems(2).Text) I get this error: InvalidArgument=Value of '2' is not valid for 'index'. Parameter name: index I have no clue how I can fix this, any help? Edit: Sorry, should have said, I'm using Windows.Forms :)

    So I have these checkboxes: <input type="checkbox" name="type" value="4" /> <input type="checkbox" name="type" value="3" /> <input type="checkbox" name="type" value="1" /> <input type="checkbox" name="type" value="5" /> And so on. There are about 6 of them and are hand-coded (i.e not fetched from a db) so they are likely to remain the same for a while. My question is how I can get them all in an array (in javascript), so I can use them while making an AJAX $.post request using Jquery. Any thoughts?     Hi I have created a Google Spreadsheet form in which for one of the fields I get the time (hh:mm:ss) in 24-hour format. I am using Google Apps Scripts to read values from this spreadsheet and put it into another file. But the other file gets the entire date (don't know from where) and shows a date from 1899. Also the time is shown in PDT (not my time zone). Even the time it prints is not correct How do I read the column value as a string and put it in the other file OR get just the time from the column value (and the correct time) I am using a simple row[0][3] to get the values from an array after doing range.getValues() Thanks.

    Hello, *EDIT*Thanks to the comments below it has been figured out that the problem lies with the md5, without everything works as it should. But how do i implent the md5 then? I am having some troubles with the following code below to login. The database and register system are already working. The problem lies that it does not find any result at all in the query. IF the count is 0 it should redirect the user to a secured page. But this only works if i write count = 0, but this should be 0 , only if the user name and password is found he should be directed to the secure (startpage) of the site after login.
