I'm trying to write something like this:
type 'a 'b xxx = {aaa: 'a: bbb: 'b: ccc: int};;
It does not compile. Is it just syntax error, or they don't allow multiple paramters on type ? Then why ?
Is there a more Pythonic way to put this loop together?:
while True:
children = tree.getChildren()
if not children:
break
tree = children[0]
UPDATE:
I think this syntax is probably what I'm going to go with:
while tree.getChildren():
tree = tree.getChildren()[0]
Hello,
There are a lot of IDE posts here but not for portable.
Can anybody help me find a good portable PHP IDE? I am looking for this features:
FTP Sitemanager
Syntax Highlighting
Auto-complete (Optional)
I am fine even with a paid version. I tried aptana on my usb but the experience was not good.
I'm in the process of writing a small lisp interpreter in haskell. In the process i defined this datatype, to get a less typed number;
data Number = _Int Integer
| _Rational Rational
| _Float Double
deriving(Eq,Show)
Compiling this fails with the following error:
ERROR "types.hs":16 - Syntax error in data type declaration (unexpected `|')
Line 16 is the line w. the first '|' in the code above.
I need to make a textbox that only allows numeric characters. I've looked through several numeric plugins and can't find one that I like. I'm looking for either a plugin recommendation with the associated URL or syntax showing how to get started on making my own plugin.
Ok, so I'm trying to select an amount of rows from a column that holds the value 3, but only if there are no rows containing 10 or 4, if there are rows containing 10 or 4 I only want to show those.
What would be a good syntax to do that? So far I've been attempting a CASE WHEN statement, but I can't seem to figure it out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
(My database is in an MS SQL 2008 server)
Happy Monday o/
I'm looking to do the following within a stored proc
select @parameter="fooproc"
drop procedure @parameter
instead of
drop procedure fooproc
But it's choking with a syntax error. Is there some way I can bend this to my will? I would've expected to be able to do this.
I've tried a few permutations of type declaration of @parameter to no avail.
Thoughts?
I already do a lot with shell scripts on the Mac, but I loathe AppleScript, and I would love to be able to access Mac apps' APIs in some other way. Does anyone know any other way to get the power of AppleScript without the pain of its horrible syntax and meager documentation (and its slowness, if possible)?
Hello,
I have a statement:
I have a string such as
content = "* test *"
I want to search and replace it with so when I am done the string contains this:
content = "(*) test (*)"
My code is:
content = Regex.Replace(content, "*", "(*)");
But this causes an error in C# because it thinks that the * is part of the Regular Expressions Syntax.
How can I modify this code so it changes all asterisks in my string to (*) instead without causing a runtime error?
Thanks.
I get the following error when I call a stored proc within an execute sql task in SSIS.
"Description: Executing the query "Exec up_CallXXX" failed with the following error: "Incorrect syntax near '13'.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly."
The stored proc runs fine when I execute it through SSMS.
Does anyone have an idea what is going on.
I recently played with MongoDB in Rails using Mongoid. I like the ability to define attributes for models within the model file (as opposed to in migrations):
class Person
include Mongoid::Document
field :name, :type => String
field :birthday, :type => Date
end
For projects that cannot use a schema-less database, does a similar feature exist? Any gems or plugins that generate schemas from a similar syntax would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
I already have pdf links set up. I am just looking to prepend Google's syntax in front of my current href using jQuery. i know the following doesn't work, but I feel I am close…?
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
jQuery("a[href$=.pdf]").attr("href", "http://docs.google.com/viewer?url=" + current.href);
});
Can anyway help, please?
Does anyone know of any good IDE (Code completion, Syntax coloring, etc) that will handle php. Looking for anything that might be relatively cheap or free and doesn't run like crap (IE: Eclipse)
I just came across this code and a few Google searches turn up no explanation of this mysterious (to me) syntax.
Hashtable^ tempHash = gcnew Hashtable(iterators_);
IDictionaryEnumerator^ enumerator = tempHash->GetEnumerator();
What the heck does the caret mean? (The gcnew is also new to me, and I asked about that here.)
I'm trying to use the replace function in JavaScript and have a question.
strNewDdlVolCannRegion = strNewDdlVolCannRegion.replace(/_existing_0/gi, "existing" + "newCounter");
That works.
But I need to have the "0" be a variable.
I've tried:
_ + myVariable +/gi and also tried
_ + 'myVariable' + /gi
Could someone lend a hand with the syntax for this, please. Thank you.
Hi -
I'm getting JSON-encoded output from another organization's API.
In many cases, the output can be either an array of objects (if there are many) or an object (if there's just one). Right now I'm writing tortured code like this:
if ( is_array($json['candidateList']['candidate'][0]) ) {
foreach ($json['candidateList']['candidate'] as $candidate) {
// do something to each object
}
}
else {
// do something to the single object
}
How can I handle it so the "do something" part of my code only appears once and uses a standard syntax?
How to right this syntax correctly:
if (tipoTropaPrioritaria[m] || troopsCount[m] || availableTroops[m]) == ("null" || "undefined") {
...
}
(to check if any of the first 3 variables is null or undefined)
When I run Book.scoped({:conditions => ['books.index LIKE ?','%query%']}) I get:
ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid: SQLite3::SQLException: near "index": syntax error: SELECT * FROM "books" WHERE (books.index like '%query%')
What am I doing wrong?
i created a function onTimer passing it a uiimageview parameter...but when i call this function in a NStimer call as shown below i get a syntax error?? is there any other way around it??
[NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:0.05 target:self selector:@selector(onTimer:image) userInfo:nil repeats:YES];
I need to port this following from Oracle syntax to Postgresql. Both FLO_END_DT and FLO_START_DATE are of type DATE in Oracle, and TIMESTAMP WITHOUT TIME ZONE in Postgresql:
SELECT
TRUNC( TO_CHAR(ROUND(( FL.FLO_END_DT- FL.FLO_START_DT)* 24), '9999D99'),2)
FROM
FLOWS FL
I am not familiar enough with Oracle to know what it is trying to accomplish.
Any ideas?
Hi,
I have queries that are built like this:
public static List<MyObjectModel> GetData (int MyParam)
{
using (DataModel MyModelDC = new DataModel())
{ var MyQuery = from....
select MyObjectModel { ...}
}
return new List<MyObjectModel> (MyQuery)
}
}
It seems that using compiled linq-to-sql queries are about as fast as stored procedures and so the goal is to convert these queries into compiled queries. What's the syntax for this?
Thanks.
I am looking up all Organizations with the url "http://", and updating their attributes to "".
My attempt:
Organization(:all).select { |o| o.url = "http://" ? o.update_attribute("url","")}
Which returns a compile error:
SyntaxError: compile error
(irb):2: syntax error, unexpected '}'
from (irb):2
Any ideas?
The line cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
cmd.CommandText
CREATE TRIGGER subscription_trig_0 ON subscription AFTER INSERT AS UPDATE user_data SET msg_count=msg_count+1 FROM user_data
JOIN INSERTED ON user_data.id = INSERTED.recipient;
The exception:
Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'TRIGGER'.
Then using VS 2010, connected to the very same file (a mdf file) I run the query above and I get a success message. WTF!
I am looking for a Java equivalent to .NET's Snippet Compiler. Is there any such utility out there? That or a really light weight Java IDE for Windows? Eclipse and NetBeans seem too heavy-weight to practice basic syntax.
