In word 2007 I click office button top left I click open, I get the open box, in the top address bar, I if I click on the down arrow far right (previous Locations) the drop down menu is empty just a box with nothing in it. To go anywhere from here I have to navigate via the left had pane, on all other windows systems this dropdown has enabled me to go to any location on my computer. I'm wondering if because all my word documents are on my D drive that windows 7 doesn't like it.
Hello,
I am using VirtualBox on Ubuntu with some programs installed in it.
And the snapshot file does not stop to grow.
I don't need this feature. I just want my data to be saved on the virtual windows hard drive.
How can I remove the snapshot of 20GB without losing my documents and settings and without starting another one keeping growing ?
Thank you.
I have a local network set up for my small office which consists of me, the manager, my wife, the secretary, and a few sales people/others. I would like to share passwords over the network and other such things privately to my wife, the secretary, but would not like the sales people and others to have access to it, yet I need the others to have access to other folders/documents that I'd like to share. How would I go about doing this if not by password?
Thanks in advance

I'm looking to automatically delete files older than 7 days old with forfiles. The code below works when I manually do it it and respond yes to deleting the files. How can I incorporate the yes into this?
This is the output

Could Not Find H:\SHARED\Scans.DS_Store
H:\SHARED\Scans\XXX\DOC006.XSM*, Are you sure (Y/N)?
I have tried a couple of Flash downloaders but I don't arrive at downloading "Adobe Presenter" Flash documents.
I'd like to have a particular presentation offline to show it to a group of students while not having access to the Internet.
Changing hard disk with ssd, can I migrate contents so that I can switch drives without a hassle?
For instance, keep my Windows configuration and installed programs and documents
My sister still has Win XP. She tried to print a document on her USB printer and now it's stuck in the printing queue. I tried the following:
Restart the computer
Restart the printer
Delete the entry from the printing queue
From the printing queue choose Printer\Cancel All Documents
Right click the print job and choose Pause
The status of the printing job now reads "Deleting - Paused - Printing".
Nothing I do seems to get rid of this stuck printing job.
What should I do?
Hiya,
I am experiencing problems when opening some word documents.
The filename will randomly automatically change to the temp file that is created whilst editing the document.
MS Word is not crashing and it doesnt happen for everyone on our network that I know of.
Can anyone shed some light on why it would do this?
Thanks

My technical support staff is only a little familiar with IIS and that's only as far as install goes. They need to install/update and configure ASP.Net web applications and WCF services that we write. Does anyone know any good tutorials/books/web sites that can help them understand some of the basic concepts of web applications and maintaining them on IIS?
can anyone provide me with the dumps and useful documents for sun solaris SA-200 S10 and SA-202 S10. Please mail me with the latest dumps on my ID: [email protected]

Is their a way on Mac OS X to sync a folder on my computer with Google Documents now that Docs supports all file types?
A lot like the functionality of DropBox.
If I mistype a URL, Chrome sometimes redirects me to a search. For instance, typing "example_url_i_sometimes_mistype.conm" into the location bar gets me:
Your search - example_url_i_sometimes_mistype.conm - did not match any
documents.
Not only is this annoying, but if the mistyped URL was one on private DNS, I've now just told Google that the domain exists. (A small concern, but bad in principle.)
Can I configure Chrome to just show an error and not blab to Google Search about it?
Does Word Viewer 2007 exists (with new Ribbon interface)?
I ask this because only thing I found so far is Word Viewer 2007 as a Viewer 2003 with compatibility packs (which looks like standad Office 2003), but that doesn't works very well for my documents.
Thanks
Hello
All of the question I would like to ask is pretty much contained in the title...
I have a couple Truecrypt-encrypted folders on OS X, where I keep some .tex documents I edit in TeXShop, and the question is: does TexShop 'bleed' information? Does it store temporary files anywhere else on the system? Filenames, filecontents etc.
Cheers!
So this is the deal. A couple of days ago I moved my profile folder C:\Documents and Settings\fmunoz to a different drive D:\fmunoz. Today, I created a directory in my desktop using the point-and-click method:
Right-click on an empty space in the desktop
Select New
Select Folder
Leave the default name New Folder and press Enter
I tried to delete the folder using the point-and-click method:
Right-click the New Folder directory
Select Delete
After five seconds, I got the following message:
---------------------------
Error Deleting File or Folder
---------------------------
Cannot delete New Folder: Access is denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected
and that the file is not currently in use.
---------------------------
Initially I thought that there must be some sort of indexing services locking the directory so I got a list of open files using the TuneUp Process Manager tool but the New Folder directory wasn't there.
I double-clicked My Computer, navigated to the desktop directory C:\Documents and Settings\fmunoz\Destkop, tried to delete the New Folder directory using the same point-and-click method described above and got exactly the same message at the same amount of time.
In the same window, I navigated to the actual location of the desktop directory D:\fmunoz\Desktop, tried to delete the New Folder directory and this time it worked.
I thought that this behavior was due to some special treatment that Windows gives to the desktop or the profile directories so I tried doing the same thing with a different set of directories:
Created a folder D:\dummy
Created a junction C:\dummy pointing to D:\dummy
Created a New Folder directory in C:\dummy
Tried to delete New Folder from C:\dummy. Didn't work.
Tried to delete New Folder from D:\dummy. It worked.
I tried creating the folder in the actual directory rather than the junction directory:
Created a New Folder directory in D:\dummy
Tried to delete New Folder from C:\dummy. Didn't work.
Tried to delete New Folder from D:\dummy. It worked.
I also tried using the Delete button instead of using the Delete option of the context menu but it didn't work.
When using the Shift+Delete sequence, it works. It also works by using the rd command in the console, but in both cases the deleted directory doesn't goes to the Recycle Bin, which is my intention when using the Delete context menu option or the Delete button.
I have this port on my laptop and I have no idea what is it used for. It's not even listen in the laptop technical specifications. The laptop is a HP Pavillion dv5-1101en.
Here is a larger image showing all the ports on the laptop:

Is there a legitimate technical difference between malware and viruses? I have looked at the Wikipedia entries but I am not really seeing the difference.
Currently, I kind of feel like this is just Symantec's way of getting more money for products (features). But maybe someone involved more deeply in this area can explain this.
Hi, I am testing Knowledge Tree (Bitnami package) and so far so good. But, looks like the indexing feature is not enabled by default. I can´t do searches within the contents of uploaded pdf files or office documents.
Thanks in advance for any answer.
I have several ClarisWorks documents (*.CWK) that I'd like to import into a more modern format like Microsoft Word or Open Office. It seems Star Office can apparently open cwk files, but the product is discontinued and cannot be downloaded any more. There has been a feature request to add a cwk importer to OpenOffice since 2002, so I doubt that OpenOffice will support cwk files any time soon.
Are there any utilities that can open a cwk file besides ClarisWorks itself?
Ok, Here is the technical description.
My laptop's config:
Ip Adress:192.168.2.5
Mysqlserver 5.0 on port : 3306
Operating system: Ubuntu
the database is in this machine
My friend's laptop config:
Ip Adress:192.168.2.4
Mysqlserver 5.0 on port : 3306
Operating system: Windows XP
Both are on a wireless LAN connected through a belkin router (192.168.2.1)
I put this but its not working:
url = "jdbc:mysql://192.168.2.5:3306/Database"
so how configure to connect to this database?
This should be a common problem for anyone involved in technical writing.
When you insert an image (or table etc.) caption in Word, you get this dialog. You enter your caption, in this case "A happy bicycle" (in yellow).
This might be fine for a happy bicycle, but I want to have captions that have one style for the "enumeration" and one style for the description, as such:
I have tried searching for this but I haven't found anything yet...
