• Sound card not detected in 13.04

  I have a problem with my sound card. I don't have volume up or down option anywhere. In the setting -> Sound I don't have any card detected. • Testing web applications written in java

  How do you test the web applications (both server side and client side code)? The testing method has to work irrespective of the framework used (struts, spring web mvc) etc. I am using Java for the server side code, Javascript and HTML for the client side code. This is the sample test case of what I am talking about: 1. When you click on a link, the pop up opens. 2. Change some value in the pop up (say a drop down value) and it gets saved in the DB. 3. Click the popup again, you get the changed values. Can we simulate this kind of thing using unit test cases? Is JUnit enough for this?

• How to use unused space in ubuntu

  I installed ubuntu on my machine with only 80 GB of memory anticipating that I will remove it later but now I want to keep it forever (until I am frustrated with linux). I have 500 GB in my machine and now I want to use that raw 420 GB of space. How I can I do that ? with "space/memory" I am referring to secondary memory not Ram.   Hi all, I'm using Wikitude API 1.1 as an AR viewer in my application. The problem with Wikitude, if I haven't launched the actual Wikitude application since the phone's bootup, I will get a NullPointerException everytime I start my own application. So I figure if I can start my app first and them check if Wikitude is installed and or running. If it's not installed, go to market n download.   i am receiving the follwing error when i am invoking a custom object "Object of type 'customObject' cannot be converted to type 'customObject'." Following is the scenario when i am getting the error i am invoking a method in a dll dynamically. Load an assembly CreateInstance.... calling MethodInfo.Invoke() passing int, string as a parameter for my method is working fine = No exceptions are thrown. But if I try and pass a one of my own custom class objects as a parameter, then I get an ArgumentException exception, and it is not either an ArgumentOutOfRangeException or ArgumentNullException. "Object of type 'customObject' cannot be converted to type 'customObject'." I am doing this in a web application. The class file containing the method is in a different proj . also the custom object is a sepearte class in the same file. there is no such thing called a static aseembly in my code. I am trying to invoke a webmethod dynamically. this webmethod is having the customObject type as an input parameter. So when i invoke the webmethod i am dynamically creating the proxy assembly and all. From the same assembly i am trying to create an instance of the cusotm object assinging the values to its properties and then passing this object as a parameter and invoking the method. everything is dynamic and nothing is created static.. :( add reference is not used.   Hi I am having to picker controls on a single view with two outlets for each. Now when I select any of them same delegate methods are get called. How should we distinguish between which picker control has called the delegate ? Another question is can we change the frame size of the pickers to fit in one view? Thanks Amit

• Unnecessary scroll bars appearing in IE8

  Hi, In my web app there is a page(ChildPage) which is actually contained in an iframe element of another page(ParentPage). This ChildPage has its contents placed in ContentPlaceHolder of a MasterPage. <div id="DivScroll" runat="server" style="overflow-y: auto; overflow-x: auto; width: 100%; height: 100%;"> <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="ContentPlaceHolder1" runat="server"> </asp:ContentPlaceHolder> </div> As apparent in the code, contents of ChildPage are scrollable in the div containing it. There is never the need for the scroll bars of browser to appear and it is working this way till IE7. In IE8 browser scrollbras are appearing due to the presence of the following div in ChildPage. <div class="ReadOnlyFlat" id="Div1" style="z-index: 100; visibility: hidden; overflow: auto; width: 100%; position: absolute; height: 300px" runat="server" ms_positioning="FlowLayout"> <radA:RadAjaxPanel ID="RadAjaxPanelA" EnableOutsideScripts="True" runat="server"> <radT:RadTreeView ID="RadTreeView2" TabIndex="1" runat="server" Skin="web20"> <NodeTemplate> <asp:Label ID="Label2" runat="server">Label</asp:Label> <asp:Label ID="Label4" runat="server" Width="10px"></asp:Label> <asp:Label ID="Label3" runat="server" ForeColor="#FF8000" Font-Bold="True">Label</asp:Label> </NodeTemplate> </radT:RadTreeView> </radA:RadAjaxPanel> What actually happens in IE8 is as follows: The above div Div1 is diaplyed on the click of an ImageButton. On the page load this ImageButton is present on the bottom of the page. In this case IE8 shows browser's vertical scrollbar due to height of Div1. When I scroll DivScroll shown in first code snippet, the ImageButton moves up. When the ImageButton is moved sufficiently up so that it is above the bottommost part of page by more than 300px(i.e, the height of Div1) and if I click the ImageButton, the browser's vertical scrollbars disappear. Browser's vertical scrollbar appears in case the distance between ImageButton and the bottom most part of page is less than height of Div1 and disappears when the distance is more than height of Div1. I need that the browser's vertical scrollbar never appears. Please Help.

VBA Arrays are mutable by all means, but it seems that when they are stored into a Dictionary as values of some keys, they are not mutable anymore. Any ideas? • Not able to access UNC share after doing the Imperosnation

  We have to access a network UNC share which is say allowing access to USER1. Our exe is running with LOCAL SYSTEM account. In the exe, we do Impersonation with "USER1" credentials so that exe can access UNC share. But after doing the impersonation, we are still getting error "Access denied" while accessing that UNC share. After the impersonation, we are enabling following privileges on the Impersonated thread: SE_BACKUP_NAME SE_CHANGE_NOTIFY_NAME SE_CREATE_GLOBAL_NAME SE_DEBUG_NAME SE_IMPERSONATE_NAME SE_RESTORE_NAME SE_SECURITY_NAME SE_TAKE_OWNERSHIP_NAME SE_TCB_NAME Do we need to enable any other privileges or we are missing something else?   I need to unpack air file, update it and repack it. Can anybody please help me in this regard? In java, for jar file we can use winrar utlity for this kind. Please suggest how can we do for air.Is there any utility for adobe air. I tried with winzip/winrar. I changed its extension to .zip file and opened it in winzip and winrar.   I do not find actual difference between these two J2EE server. From my past experience, I found out following: WL is evolving more faster than WAS. WL is more user friendly than WAS. To simply deploy a application in WAS, we need to go in deep and its difficult to find if u are new to it. I found out that WAS is slower in some machine than WL. I found out that Classloading is easier to understand and effective in WL than WAS Above all are my experiences but not actual facts. I want to know more in this respect. Please clear my doubts. If possible please provide each J2EE server's pros and cons. -Abhishek
