• VMWare Guest Info - Wrong IP Returned

  We're running a VDI environment with vSphere 4.0 and Oracle VDI 3.2.2 and are having a bit of a problem with users that connect to an IPSec VPN from within their VM. For some reason, once connected to the VPN, the VMWare API returns GuestInfo.ipAddress as the VPN IP rather than the primary IP of the only NIC on the system. The IP address shown in net[0].ipAddress is the correct address and is what vSphere client is reporting. Is there any way to get VMWare tools to report the net[0].ipAddress as GuestInfo.ipAddress? Below is sample output from the guestinfo.pl script. 172.16.1.2 is the example "bad" VPN address that our VDI software is seeing.   Hi All, This is a strange driver error which doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I am running an application developed in C# .NET which our company develops. I was monitoring the application using process monitor and noticed that it accesses the registry a lot. From what I can see the app does not explicitly read this stuff, so I think this relates to a driver on the machine (which is a netbook)

  I am having some problems doing a proper search of "SET/S" or "SET /S" on google and other search providers. The difficulty arises with the SLASH "/", it is commonly used in search engines to add a "nearness" to the search parameter. I have found no way to escape the SLASH when searching for a SLASH. For those on this community, try searching this domain with the two search terms listed above. It just doesn't work, it ends up looking for SET S instead. But I digress. So Im asking the uber-guru's on this board to help me find out about the documentation of /S and how to implement SET /S in a batch file. SET is an internal DOS/cmd commandand allows many things incuding prompting the user, integer math and writing environment strings. in looking at this link: http://www.robvanderwoude.com/os2set.php it appears that the /S is only for OS2 but im thinking that this might not be the case, due to this: http://www.dostips.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2704, apparently used with substings and macros. any help is much appreciated

  I'm using vpsinfo on all my linux servers, both virtual and non virtual and I'm wondering does anybody know of a similar script for windows servers? I sure could use one, so much that I'm even tempted to write one, but lack the time to do so. EDIT: I am not looking for monitoring application. I'm looking for a asp.net page that will show me all the relevant information about my server (like vpsinfo) without the hassle.

  I asked a related question about uname before, now want to ask from another angle because the following simple yet obvious conflicting outputs may mean there is something many people did not think of (me included). And I have rebooted multiple times after freebsd-update. And the system is not in jail etc, just the only system on that computer.

• NetBackup's bplist doesn't get user/group info for Windows files

  I'm trying to get information about storage consumption from NetBackup's bplist output. I'm running NBU 6.0MP5 on a RHEL 3 server. The server is backing up several Solaris, Linux, and Windows machines. When I use bplist to get information about files backed up on any UNIX machine I get something like this: # bplist -C unixclient -R 99 -l -s 01/28/2006 -e 01/29/2006 / drwxr-xr-x test ccase 0 Nov 16 09:28 /l/home2/test/ -rw------- test ccase 4737 Jan 06 17:54 /l/home2/test/.bash_history -rw-rw-r-- test ccase 104 Nov 11 2004 /l/home2/test/.bashrc However, when I use it to list files backed up on any Windows client I can't get the user and group information. They both always appear as 'root'.   I am using the below information to auto-forward my work emails to my BB via a gmail account. The script works fine. But my work email ask's for every email to send either classifield or unclassified. What and where would I add into the below script to autoforward unclassified? I have written some VBA script to do this bypass the server's disabling of auto-forward. Basically it mimics the user forwarding the email rather than the server doing an auto-forward.   I have a JDBC realm setup and a web-app using basic authentication, but I can't get it to work. It is putting up the password dialog but it never succeeds. If I could get the authentication process to spit out some logs, I would be fine. I have debug="99" in my realm specification but I see nothing getting logged in the usual places. Am I missing something?

As shown in the image above, the PHP information page shows sessions as working and installed, yet I get this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function session_create() in /var/www/lighttpd/index.php on line 1 I've tried multiple reinstalls, different PHP RPM's, and yet nothing will get sessions going.   Browsers like Chrome and Firefox can use my wifi device to get information about the surrounded APs and pin point my physical location using Google Location Services, I know these browser always ask for permissions to do this, and that these features can also be "turned off". But I was wondering if there's a better way to prevent ANY application to access this information from my wifi device. • Oracle VM RAC template - what it took

  In my previous posting I introduced the latest Oracle Real Application Cluster / Oracle VM template. I mentioned how easy it is to deploy a complete Oracle RAC cluster with Oracle VM. In fact, you don't need any prior knowledge at all to get a complete production-ready setup going. Here is an example... I built a 4 node RAC cluster, completely configured in just over 40 minutes - starting from import template into Oracle VM, create VMs to fully up and running Oracle RAC. And what was needed? 1 textfile with some hostnames and ip addresses and deploycluster.py. The setup is a 4 node cluster where each VM has 8GB of RAM and 4 vCPUs. The shared ASM storage in this case is 100GB, 5 x 20GB volumes. The VM names are racovm.0-racovm.3. The deploycluster script starts the VMs, verifies the configuration and sends the database cluster configuration info through Oracle VM Manager to the 4 node VMs. Once the VMs are up and running, the first VM starts the actual Oracle RAC setup inside and talks to the 3 other VMs. I did not log into any VM until after everything was completed.   Hi, Here is a complex question, maybe it's not hard but there are many doubts i have. First let me give you what i have. This is the only place where i've gotten good answers. I have a table view controller with custom cells. In those cells i added a button (info dark one from IB) for each one of the cells. What i would like it's that when I press that button it displays a new view with more information about that cell, different of the view that i get from didSelectRowAtIndexPath. I've read a little bit about Modal View Controller and I think this is a case where I should use it. So here are my questions: How do i make a view controller a modal view controller?. I read that i have to have a delegate. Is there an example of how to create a normal modal view controller. I haven't been able to do so. How can this button know which cell is it from?. What i have right is a subclass tableviewcell with an IBOUTLET to this info button. This is not an important question because i guess i just could add a NSIndexPath attribute. I added an action in my tableviewsubclass that is triggered when the touchDown Event is called. I did this connection through IB. How can I call the modal view controller through here?, and is it even the right place to do this? Thanks

• Storing info in a PostgreSQl database issue

  Ok I am making a registry for my website. • configure batch to sent minute info instead of entire stdout

  Hi all, I am working on a RedHat server along with several other users. We use the batch utility to set a job queue. Some of the programs that I use write stuff to stdout during the run, with info on who much data has been processed to far and estimated time until completion etc. batch -q z at> myScript -i somefile -o someotherfile By default, the batch util send an email to me (since I configured it using .forward) with the entire output from stdout. Since the scripts writes something to stdout a few times each second, the amount of log-stuff I get from a two-day script can be ˜20 Mbs. Clearly not what I want. I can of course pipe stdout to a file like so batch -q z at> myScript -i somefile -o someotherfile > myscript.stdout.log but then I get a blank e-mail from the util. So to my question: Is it possible to configure batch so that it sends time the job started and ended, or run time or some oth valuable information to me, instead of a 20 Mb mail or a blank mail? Note that the scripts that I use are binaries and I cannot customize the code to output less info in the first place (which would be the optimal solution I guess). Thanks /Daniel

• Add Hexidecimal Header Info to JPEG File Using Java

  I need to add header info to a JPEG file in order to get it to work properly when shared on some websites, I've tracked down the correct info through a lot of Hex digging, but now I'm kind of stuck trying to get it into the file. I know where in the file it needs to go, and I know how long it is, my problem is that RandomAccessFile just overwrites existing data in the file and FileOutputStream appends the data to the end. I don't want either, I want to INSERT data starting at the third byte. My example code: File fileToChange = new File("someimage.jpg"); byte[] i = new byte[2]; i[0] = (byte)Integer.decode("0xcc"); i[1] = (byte)Integer.decode("0xcc"); RandomAccessFile f = new RandomAccessFile(new File("videothing.jpg"), "rw"); long aPositionWhereIWantToGo = 2; f.seek(aPositionWhereIWantToGo); // this basically reads n bytes in the file f.write((byte[])i); f.close(); So this doesn't work because it overwrites, and does not insert, I can't find any way to just insert data into a file

• Creating a Facebook session for getting page info

  I am trying to get info on a page that my user is admin for. This user has granted my fb_connect app offline access. I have saved the session_key that allows offline access (it has the user's id in it). I am able to publish to this fan page with this session key. But when I try to access the page's info I get an SessionExpired error. This doesn't make sense. Look at the code and output below: p is is a 'profile' object that holds the three pieces of relevant fb data (user_id, session_key and page id) fb_session = Facebooker::Session.create = # fb_session.secure_with!(p.fb_session_key, p.fb_user_id, 0) = nil fb_session.user.has_permission?("offline_access") = true fb_session.user.has_permission?("publish_stream") = true fb_session.user.has_permission?("read_stream") = true pages = fb_session.fql_query("select fan_count from page where page_id = #{p.fb_page_id}") Facebooker::Session::SessionExpired: Session key invalid or no longer valid ... pages = fb_session.pages(:fields = {:page_ids = p.fb_page_id}) Facebooker::Session::SessionExpired: Session key invalid or no longer valid ... pages = Facebooker::Session.create.fql_query("select fan_count from page where page_id = #{p.fb_page_id}") = [#] Perhaps I'm not creating the session right or maybe offline access doesn't give me access to the user's page even though I have permissions to push to it. As you can see when I just use an anon session I'm able to get the fan count, which I'm guessing is publicly available. Does anyone have an idea on this?
