  • Flash Builder 4: Call main function from a component function

    i try to make a login sistem in flex, and my app looks like this: i have a main.mxml. when the app loads, a function named "start" is called. it verifies if the user is logged in or not. if "true" the user is redirected to a dashboard, if "false", a component named login is loaded. my login.mxml component has 2 input boxes (user & pass) and a "Submit" button. when the button is pressed a function named "send_login" sends the user and the pass values to the server. My problem sounds like this: when i press the Submit button in my login component, after user and pass are sended... i want to call again the "start" function from my main.mxml to check again if the user is logged in or not... i need some kind of as2 "_root" this is how my code looks: main.mxml public function start():void { currentState="Start"; loginstatus(); } login.mxml private function send_login(event:Event):void { ... bla bla send user and pass.... scriptLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, handleLoadSuccessful); } private function handleLoadSuccessful(evt:Event):void { trace("Data sent."); start(); <-- HERE i want to call the function from main.mxml } any help is welcomed!

  • Interface Builder Does Not Recognize Toolbar Buttons

    I created 4 UIButton's that are Custom and Plain in IB. I added a background image to them and then placed them onto my UIToolbar. I created IBActions and hooked up all of the buttons I did not create @property for the buttons, but 3/4 of them appear on my toolbar and they work. Why isnt my 4th button appearing? If I need to declare an @property for them, will it be a UIToolbarButtonItem or a UIButton?

  • How to get iPhone, not iPad view in Interface Builder

    At first, I was not able to build a new blank project to iPhone using the new XCode 3.2 beta. I edited the project settings and was able to build the blank app to iPhone simulator. However, when I open the nib for the project in IB and click the view, it opens an iPad size view. How do I get the right sized view to work on in IB?

    The following query returns one row as expected when run from phpmyadmin. SELECT units . * , locations . * FROM units, locations WHERE units.id = '1' AND units.location_id = locations.id LIMIT 0 , 30 But when I try to do it in Kohana 3: $unit = DB::select('units.*', 'locations.*') ->from('units', 'locations') ->where('units.id', '=', $id)->and_where('units.location_id', '=', 'locations.id') ->execute()->as_array(); var_dump($unit); It prints array(0) { } What am I doing wrong?

  • Using Interface Builder efficiently

    I am new to iPhone and objective c. I have spent hours and hours and hours reading documents and trying to understand how things work. I have RTFM or at least am in the process. My main problem is that I want to understand how to specify where an event gets passed to and the only way I have been able to do it is by specifying delegates but I am certain there is an easier/quicker way in IB. So, an example. Lets say I have 20 different views and view controllers and one MyAppDelegate. I want to be able to build all of these different Xib files in IB and add however many buttons and text fields and whatever and then specify that they all produce some event in the MyAppDelegate object. To do this I added a MyAppDelegate object in each view controller in IB's list view. Then I created an IBAction method in MyAppDelegate in XCode and went back to IB and linked all of the events to the MyAppDelegate object in each Xib file. However when I tried running it it just crashed with a bad read exception. My guess is that each Xib file is putting a MyAppDelegate object pointer that has nothing to do with the eventual MyAppDelegate adress that will actually be created at runtime. So my question is...how can I do this?!!!

    Hi there, I have been designing with jquery and using the jquery UI widgets .. but always been designing for 1024 x 768 ... Is there any tricks or plugins (preferably that work with jquery UI) to automatically resize elements of my interface ... that way when somebody views it at a higher resolution it doesn't look so small..     Looking for examples of some "final touches" to enhance an existing (raw) user interface. I.e nothing related to the core functionalities of the application, but rather examples of all these little details which give an application a "polished" look (new fonts, change in layout, more descriptive labels...others ?) The target platform will be a mobile platform (android/iphone). Note that I'm severly graphically impaired regarding colour and shape combinations, so anything too sophisticated will probably pass me by completely ;)

  • Interface Builder only allows one button to be "touchable"

    I'm making a clone of the classic game simon, the memory matching game. My (iPad) app will load fine, i tap start, the game screen loads, and only one of my four buttons will respond to touch commands. To troubleshoot, I tried creating a second unrelated nib and just populating it with four buttons not linked to anything. However, only one of those four buttons would respond to touch! There are no IBActions being called, nothing. Both the view itself, and all four buttons are touch enabled in the inspector...I'm stumped. I'm moreso asking if anyone has encountered anything simillar, as I'd rather not burden potential help with app-specific questions if it's avoidable. Thank you!

  • C++ Builder 2010 Exception Dead Lock ???

    Hello Is this some kind of exception dead lock i am facing? How to avoid it ? Have a look at below line where i have TIdContext objects of connected clients stored in an objlist and at times i need to process it. But if one user is disconnected while another thread is processing the list, then for that freed TIdContext-Data object I am getting Access voilation, Ok its fine i am using try/catch but problem is that at below line there is some kind of dead lock and process hangs , if i attach a debuger it show Access voilation Again and Again and Again, and cpu coonsumption goes up because of that exception dead lock. AnsiString UserID = ((Tmyobject*) ((TIdContext*) ObjList->Objects[i])->Data)->UserID; i know i can check before accessing the object, if object is not Null, It works.. But my question is what if once in a blue moon the Data object is freed at the point when NULL check is performed and on next line when again i am accessing the object i get same dead lock ??? So how to avoid/handle this dead lock exception ?   • Application Design in Interface Builder Challenge

    I want to design an app that launches other sub-apps. Main View will contain 4 buttons. Clicking on each button respectively will launch the other sub-apps. Each sub-app will have a UITabBarController which has its own different views. At any point I want the user to be able to go back to the Main View from any of the sub-apps. I am not sure how to design this in IB.

  • C Builder TForm not allocated or created properly all its controls

    Hi, I would know how i can check that all the controls on the form is created and initialized. I have form i am showing when user presses the 'update' button. It have only TProgressBar control. The handle is not NULL for this control and at random stages it can or can't set the Position/Max values. When i set TProgressBar-Max value to some integer it remains 0 after. So the question is: 1) How to really create the form and all controls on it (i am currently using just Form-Show() method, which as i can check calls the constructor) 2) How to check that all controls on the form is created and PAINTED (showed) Thanks

  • Interface Builder layout ViewController with its own nib

    I would like to be able to decide where a sub view is placed, when that view is controlled by its own view controller. This happens frequently on the iPad when you have a semi-complicated view that doesn't fill the entire screen. So, imagine that I want the sub view controller's nib to decide its own width, components, connections, etc, while the parent nib would decide where that view/nib would be placed. I'd really like to lay it out visually instead of programatically. How can I?

  • Changing Window Title in Interface Builder

    Hi all, I'm new to Objective C and Cocoa - and I'm having a really hard time changing the title on one of my windows. Usually I would press the outside of the window, and then in Window Attributes Inspector there's the title area - however for this particular project it has a name in that box and when I run the application, the title bar still says untitled. Am I missing something? I haven't binded the title to a data source or anything.
