• BeautifulSoup: Get the contents of a specific table

  Hi, My local airport disgracefully blocks users without IE, and looks awful. I want to write a Python scripts that would get the contents of the Arrival and Departures pages every few minutes, and show them in a more readable manner. My tools of choice are mechanize for cheating the site to believe I use IE, and BeautifulSoup for parsing page to get the flights data table. Quite honestly, I got lost in the BeautifulSoup documentation, and can't understand how to get the table (whose title I know) from the entire document, and how to get a list of rows from that table. Any ideas? Adam

• Macro for one-to-many splitting of Word documents

  I have a Word document which is several hundred pages long. I would like to use a macro to automatically create about a dozen or so sub-documents based on certain rules (mainly, occurrence of certain strings in each Section). Is this possible? What VBA functions should I read-up on? Does anybody know of any code examples which are even remotely similar and which I may be able to customize for my purposes? Thanks

• Javascript does not work on IIS

  I have a .NET library executing as part of our website that renders HTML to image formats. It uses the IE rendering engine, and will happily run any javascript if present to do the rendering. The problem is we just moved the code to a new server, and javascript seems to be disabled. I tried changing (briefly the Application Pools Process Model Identity from NetworkService to LocalSystem, and that worked fine. Hence it must be a permissions problem. So my questions are this: 1) What is the specific permission I need to set to allow the IE rendering engine to execute javascript, inside the IIS application pool? 2) What is the best way to enable that in my application pool? Do I just somehow set it in NetworkService, or create a new identify (how is that done?) Thanks!

• Directly embedding JPEGs in an HTML file

  I can embed a mime encoded JPEG in an html page by saving the page from IE using the File-SaveAs menu and selecting (Web Archive, single file (*.mht)). Renaming this .mht file with .eml enables Outlook to open it and send an HTML email. My questions are: How can I embed JPEG images directly in HTML pages (no external files). Are the images just mime encoded inline in the HTML? It appears that this is IE specific. Do any other browsers support this functionality?

  Hi, I need to position a div to the bottom of my viewport. I start using position:fixed; bottom:0px; and that work just fine. But the thing that I'm working on gets injected via javascript in different pages. And some of the pages doesn't have a doctype defined, so in IE gets rendered like quircks mode, so the div doesn't get positioned correctly.. I've tried to position the div using javascript (document.documentElement.clientHeight) and that works fine. But when no doctype is defined, the "document.documentElement.clientHeight" is 0, so again the div doesn't get positioned correctly. Any idea on how to fix this problem? I'm only interested in IE 7 and 8. Thanks in advance Gonzalo

I would like to add another column on the listing page for ModelA, where each entry is a URL pointing to all objects of ModelB having a foreign key relationship on corresponding instance of Model A in that row. • Can only access asp.net app on localhost

  I'm trying to get an asp.net application up on IIS on a Windows Server 2008 machine. I can hit the app from localhost, no problem. But I can't access the app using the server's domain name either locally or from another machine on the network. But here's the odd part. I can access a normal file on IIS using the domain name, both from a browser running on the server and from a browser running on another machine on the network. Here's a synopsis ("http" converted to "htp" below because I don't have enough points to have all these links in my message): From IE on the server itself: works htp://localhost/foo.htm works htp://localhost/App works htp://test.foo.com/foo.htm dead htp://test.foo.com/App From IE on another machine: works htp://test.foo.com/foo.htm dead htp://test.foo.com/App And when I say "dead" I mean the request times out. Any ideas?

  Q: I use RadUpload Telerik control to upload more than image ..this control is flexible and amazing one.. it works perfectly but recently i find the following problem :: the problem appears only in firefox not IE when click on Select button in this control to select my file the button doesn't work at all ,,but when i click on the textbox(which the file path appear in)it opens the window which i can select a file from it .. i don't know what is the problem with firefox .. i wanna the default behavior to not confuse the user ,i wanna when clicking on Select button , showing a window to select my file from it like IE.. any suggestions to fix this problem please...

  I'm having troubles with fckeditor in Firefox. When the user goes to a page, the html (encoded) is stored in a hidden input element. I call the predefined fckeditor javascript event to populate my editor with the html from the hidden ContentBody element. function FCKeditor_OnComplete( editorInstance ) { editorInstance.InsertHtml(""); var sample = document.getElementById("ContentBody").value; editorInstance.InsertHtml(sample); } This automatically populates the editor with the desired text in IE, but in Firefox it doesn't. Firebug gives me the error : A is null [Break on this error] var FCKW3CRange=function(A){this._Docume...eateFromRange(this._Document,this);}};\r\n Using Firebug I can determine that the event method FCKeditor_OnComplete() just isn't fired when using Firefox.   Hi! Currently I'm searching for a free solution to simple edit some photos at the users browser. Resizing and Cropping would be mandatory. I'm not searching for an online service (for example SUMO or PIXLR which are great), because I want to include the software into a WYSIWYG Editor. JavaScript would be really nice, but it would have to work in IE 8. Pixastic is a great example, but works only in modern browsers (not IE 8 :-/) Any suggestions what I could use? Maybe setting up some kind of image processing service with ImageMagick and communicating with it through AJAX could also be an solution? Has anyone gained some experience with such a solution?

• Visual Studio detaches from application as soon as debugging starts

  I have a web application that I've always been able to run in Visual Studio and it debugs just fine (breakpoints work, I can pause execution, etc). Recently, the behavior changed suddenly, and a few things happen: I start debugging, it lauches IE and loads the application, but after a few seconds (sometimes the page hasn't even displayed yet), Visual Studio acts as if debugging has stopped - I'm able to edit code in VS again, and the "Play" button on the toolbar is enabled. The application continues to run in the IE window just spawned, but I'm not attached to it During this few seconds that VS is "debugging", because it detaches, my breakpoints show as hollow - as if I'm set to "Release" mode and they won't be hit. In fact, I have a breakpoint set in Page_Load, and it skips right by. I've checked, and I'm set to debug mode, though the compile mode dropdown is missing from my toolbar (I checked in the build properties to ensure I was in debug mode). Can anybody shed some light here?

  I've created a form in php that collects basic information. I have a list box that allows multiple items selected (ie housing, rent, food, water). If multiple items are selected they are stored in a field called Needs seperated by a comma. I have created a report ordered by the persons needs. The people who only have one need are sorted correctly, but the people who have multiple are sorted exactly as the string passed to the database (ie. housing, rent, food, water) -- which is not what i want. Is there a way to seperate the multiple values in this field using SQL to count each need instance/occurance as 1 so that there are no comma delimitations shown in the results? CLICK FOR EXAMPLE
