    The fogbugz plugin for visual studio opens up a tab right next to your regular code tabs with in it the fogbugz window. Tiny bit lame if you ask me, but I can accept that. Is there a way however to make that tab pinned? So I cannot accidently close it and it will stay the first tab at all times?

    Hi, I need to come up with a regular expression to validate hostname against RFC-1123 and RFC-952. Right now I'm using this: ^(?=.{1,255}$)[0-9A-Za-z](?:(?:[0-9A-Za-z]|\b-){0,61}[0-9A-Za-z])?(?:\.[0-9A-Za-z](?:(?:[0-9A-Za-z]|\b-){0,61}[0-9A-Za-z])?)*\.?$/ but this does not do the trick since it does not catch a. as invalid hostname. How do I enhance the reg expression to comply with those RFCs? Thanks

    Is there any free service to which I could send a UDP packet and it would respond telling me what is my "real" UDP port? (my application is behind a NAT) This kind of service could allow me to make a p2p coordination server with normal php hosting. The p2p clients would know their UDP ports from this service They will then contact my server over HTTP (which is what regular web hosting allows) and tell it their port (and ip, which is normally supplied to cgi scripts) My server will give the clients the IP addresses and ports of the other clients.

  • Can't sign into linkedin when using a QT4 (WebKit-based) browser?

    I started using the lightweight QT4 browser for some of the time on my Mac. Most simple websites, and even quite a few AJAX-heavy web apps, work for me flawlessly, including gmail (!) However, with LinkedIn, I can't even manage to sign in. Even when I change the useragent to one of a regular browser, it keeps kicking me out. Any ideas what could be wrong and for some workaround? Thanks!

  • Automatically copy files without overwriting, but creating numbered ones instead

    I need to copy files at a regular interval, eg once an hour so I tried setting up an xcopy batch saying it should copy the files it needs to copy to another folder. Now when it copies, it overwrites the files which is not what it is supposed to do. When a file is copied, it should create a new file instead, named something like File.txt, File-COPY1.txt, File-COPY2.txt or something like that. Any way to do that? Thanks in advance.

    Hi :) I'm developing a .NET app, which needs to run both on Azure and on regular Windows Servers(2003). It needs to store a few GB of data and SQL Azure is too expensive for me, so I'll use Azure tables in the cloud version. Can you recommend a storage solution, which will run on standalone servers and have an API and behavior similar to Azure tables? From what I've seen Server AppFabric does not include Tables. TIA

    Hi all, One of my functions in a class is called GetIpAddress() which returns the following string: System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables["REMOTE_ADDR"] This all works well in regular page loads and gets my ip address, but when i for example let a user place a comment, then the ip address is lost after postback and i get an empty string returned.     hi helpful people, i'm trying to get my old blogger blog feed URL (/blog/atom.xml) to redirect to my new blog feed URL (/blog/feed). A regular 301 redirect didn't work, and the advice given on the wordpress site, which is: RewriteRule ^oldfeed.php(.*)? /wordpress/?feed=newfeed [QSA] isn't quite cutting it either - probably because i'm not sure how to adjust the code for oldfeed to accomodate a directory. or for some other reason entirely!     Hello, I am using the following Rewrite URL: RewriteRule /([^/?.]+) /somedir/somefile.aspx\?Name=$1 [NC,L] which works great for my use, but I need to restrict it to only act on text that does not contain a filename... for example, if I use the url www.somedomain.com/SomeName it works fine, but it also fires if I use www.somedomain.com/TestPage.aspx So I am not sure if I need an additional Rewtire rule, or if the current one can be modified to disallow any text with an extension, for example. Any help with this regular expression would be greatly appreciated.
