  • How to copy and paste code with retaining the format

    This question may have been asked before but I was unable to find any solution. So here goes: When I browse and see some code that I would like to copy I simply use ctrl+c and ctrl+v. Most of the time this works fine. But in some cases (websites like stackoverflow and others ) when I copy the code and paste it , it only comes on one line in eclipse. I have tried pasting this code into eclipse and select all and hitting auto format but this doesnt help either. I have also pasted the code into komodo and word. But to no avail. The code simply refuses to align itself. Does anyone know any solution to this?

  • QueryString problem in .aspx - prints out nothing

    I need to print out the querystring value "?type=xxx" inside my .aspx-page, why doesn't this work: <%= Request.QueryString("type") %> While this does: <%= Request.QueryString(0) %> The first prints out nothing, the second one prints out the value as expected, but it isn't always the first value I want... Any ideas?

  • Creating a "Universities Attended" Profile field/block (Drupal)

    Interesting question for everyone. So I have am thinking of adding a "university attended" field to the profile page of members in Drupal. I guess I am trying to figure out the best way to go about it. I was originally thinking of a text field, but than I thought you could get multiple instances of of university names, making it hard to sort people by school (ie. UF, University of Florida, Florida, U of F, etc). I then began to think about creating a drop down, but I wasn't quite sure where I could get a listing of all the schools. Perhaps I could find a database population that a site like LinkedIn or Facebook uses. Then I thought of what happens when someone has attended multiple schools, how would I account for that? So, I guess I wanted to pose the question of how would you go about adding a University(ies) attended field to profile pages if you had to design a site to do so?

    I have a question about views, specifically about grouping a relationship. I have a "partner" node that has many "docs", I want to list the name of the "partner" along with its corresponding "docs" below. I have the relationship set up correctly(I think) but can't figure out how or where to group it correctly. I get this: partner name 1 - doc name 1 partner name 1 - doc name 2 partner name 1 - doc name 3 partner name 2 - doc name 4 partner name 2 - doc name 5 partner name 3 - doc name 6 but would like this: partner name 1 - doc name 1 - doc name 2 - doc name 3 partner name 2 - doc name 4 - doc name 5 - doc name 6

  • Elegantly Handle Repetitive Property Code in C#

    The language shortcut public string Code { get; set; } saves a bit of typing when defining trivial properties in C#. However, I find myself writing highly repetitive, not-quite-as-trivial property code that still follows a clear pattern e.g. public string Code { get { return code; } set { if (code != value) { code = value; NotifyPropertyChanged("Code"); } } } I can certainly define a Visual Studio snippet to reduce typing. However, if I need to add something to my pattern, I have to go back and change quite a bit of existing code. Is there a more elegant approach? Is a snippet the best way to go?

  • How to parse multiple dates from a block of text in Python (or another language)

    I have a string that has several date values in it, and I want to parse them all out. The string is natural language, so the best thing I've found so far is dateutil. Unfortunately, if a string has multiple date values in it, dateutil throws an error: >>> s = "I like peas on 2011-04-23, and I also like them on easter and my birthday, the 29th of July, 1928" >>> parse(s, fuzzy=True) Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/dateutil/parser.py", line 697, in parse return DEFAULTPARSER.parse(timestr, **kwargs) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/dateutil/parser.py", line 303, in parse raise ValueError, "unknown string format" ValueError: unknown string format Any thoughts on how to parse all dates from a long string? Ideally, a list would be created, but I can handle that myself if I need to. I'm using Python, but at this point, other languages are probably OK, if they get the job done. PS - I guess I could recursively split the input file in the middle and try, try again until it works, but it's a hell of a hack.

    I always assumed that changing the value of k from "x" to 20 would eliminate "x". So why then in this example are we able to go back and reference "x"? a = {} k = "x" a[k] = 10 print(a[k]) ---> Returns 10 print(a["x"]) ---> Returns 10 a[20] = "great" k = 20 print(a[k]) ---> "great" a["x"] = a["x"] + 1 print(a["x"]) --> 11 Why does that last print command work, and return 11? I thought we set k = 20. Why is "x" even in the picture?

I want to use file 1 as "base tasks" and use the tasks in the install.ps1 and override the properties. Or do I have to do that an other way?     CodeBlocks is not linking extension SDL Libraries like SDL_mixer and SDL_image? I followed Lazy Foo's tutorial for SDL 1.2 but I am compiling my program in SDL 2.0. The compiler is showing an error with the linking of the libraries though without the mixer library it is working. My linker setting look like this. //This is working -lmingw32 -lSDL2main -lSDL2 //But with the additional mixer library it is not working -lmingw32 -lSDL2main -lSDL2 -lSDL_mixer Please help!

  • Block upload of executable images (PHP)

    It has come to my attention that a user has been trying to create an exploit through avatar image uploads. This was discovered when a user reported to me that they were getting a notice from their Norton Anti-virus saying "HTTP Suspicious Executable Image Download." This warning was referencing the user's avatar image. I don't think they had actually achieved anything in the way of stealing information or anything like that, but I assume it could be possible if the hole is left open long enough. I use PHP to upload the image files, and I check if the file being uploaded is a png, jpg, or gif.
