How to align Buttons in a TableLayout to different directions?

Hello, probably I don't understand the layout properties of TableLayout yet. It doesn't seem to be possible to achieve such a flexible table like in HTML, because there are no cells. My target is it to achieve such a layout: Link to draft How can I do that? I thought about using a GridView but this doesn't seem to be useful in XML. jQuery Autocomplete using extraParams to pass additional GET variables

I am referring specifically to the jQuery Autocomplete v1.1 plugin by Jörn Zaefferer [source: http://bassistance.de/jquery-plugins/jquery-plugin-autocomplete/] as there seems to be quite a few variations of this plugin. I'm trying to pass additional parameters to the server when the user starts typing because I have multiple fields that I want autocomplete to provide suggestions for. In addition to the query, I want to send the input name attribute to the server but I can't seem to use $(this).attr('name') within the extraParams. What is the equivalent of memset in C#?

I need to fill a byte[] with a single non-zero value. How can I do this in C# without looping through each byte in the array? Update: The comments seem to have split this into two questions - Is there a Framework method to fill a byte[] that might be akin to memset What is the most efficient way to do it when we are dealing with a very large array? I totally agree that using a simple loop works just fine, as Eric and others have pointed out. The point of the question was to see if I could learn something new about C# :) I think Juliet's method for a Parallel operation should be even faster than a simple loop. ExtJs - Set a fixed width in a center layout in a Panel

Hi all, Using ExtJs. I'm trying to design a main which is divided into three sub panels (a tree list, a grid and a panel). The way it works is that you have a tree list (west) with elements, you click on an element which populates the grid (center), then you click on an element in the grid and that generates the panel (west). My main panel containing the three other ones has been defined with a layout 'border'. Now the problem I face is that the center layout (the grid) has been defined in the code with a fixed width and the west panel as an auto width. But when the interface gets generated, the grid width is suddenly taking all the space in the interface instead of the west panel. CKEditor inside jQuery Dialog, how do I build it?

So, I'm working with CKEditor and jQuery, trying to build a pop-out editor. Below is what I have coded so far, and I can't seem to get it working the way I want it to. Basically, click the 'Edit' link, dialog box pops up, with the content to edit loaded into the CKEditor. Also, not required, but helpful if you can suggest how to do it. I can't seem to find out how to make the save button work in CKEditor (though I think the form will do it). Inserting Google Maps into a WYSIWYG editor, then saving and retrieving properly

Hi, I'm trying to extend jWysiwyg with an function to add a map from Google Maps. I can get the map all right, but I'm having problems with how to handle the generated map so it can be saved with the page and then retrieved. To open the process up a bit: User enters editor which is created using jWysiwyg. User clicks on a button which asks for an address, then returns the corresponding latitude and longitude. I use this location information to create a map using Google Maps API (V3), which I then insert into the editable WYSIWYG area. When I save the page, the whole Google generated HTML gets saved into the database, which will not work properly when opened next time (I get a grey box when I open up the page again). Now, the problem is that I need to insert the map in such a format that it will work afterwards (perhaps using <script> tags). I also need the map to be visible in the WYSIWYG editor itself, so I cannot just put in a placeholder tag which would later be populated with the correct map data. So, in short; how would you insert a Google Map into a WYSIWYG editor in a way that it is both visible/previewable from the editor itself and could also be saved in a format that would work properly when opened the next time?

Spring MVC jQuery remote validation

Hi, I am using Spring MVC on the server side, but in one of the pages I decided to create an AJAX validation with jQuery rather than the default Spring validation. Everything works great, except when I have to do a remote validation to check if a "title" already exists. I think the reason for this is that I am returning an answer in the manner: {result:"TRUE"} when in fact, the answer should be: {"TRUE"} I don't know how to return a single response like this one using a ModelAndView answer. Another thing that is not working is the customized message for the "remote" validation: messages: { title: { required: "A title is required.", remote: "This title already exists." } }, The required message works, but not the remote message. I looked around, but I didn't see many people using Spring and jQuery at the same time. I would appreciate some help here.

Geting SelectList to MVC view using AJAX/jQuery

Hi all. I have a C# MVC application which is populating a dropdown based on a date selected. Once the date is selected I am sending it to an action via AJAX/jQuery. The action gets a list of items to return for that date. Here is where my problem is. I have done it previously where I render a partial view from the action and pass it the SelectList as the model. However, I really just want to do it inline in the original view, so I'm hoping there is some way I can return the SelectList and from there do some magic Javascript/JQuery to put it into a dropdown. Has anybody ever done this before? If so, what do I on the client end after calling the load() to return the SelectList? I've done something like this previously, when I was just returning a string or other value to be rendered as straight text: $("#returnTripRow").load("/Trip.aspx/GetTripsForGivenDate?date=" + escape(selection)); But I'm not sure how to intercept the data and morph it into am Html.DropDown() call, or equivalent. How to decrypt a string in C# that was encrypted in Delphi

Hi all, we have a project written in Delphi that we want to convert to C#. Problem is that we have some passwords and settings that are encrypted and written into the registry. When we need a specified password we get it from the registry and decrypt it so we can use it. For the conversion into C# we have to do it the same way so that the application can also be used by users that have the old version and want to upgrade it. I know that I can disable the obfuscation for the entire style name. But I'd like to keep the obfuscation while making use of the decorators.

I faced problem in Icefaces portlet using portletfaces bridge inside liferay. the problem is when I open the browser for the first time I got null pointer exception. for example i opened the portal How can I dynamically change auto complete entries in a C# combobox or textbox?

I have a combobox in C# and I want to use auto complete suggestions with it, however I want to be able to change the auto complete entries as the user types, because the possible valid entries are far too numerous to populate the AutoCompleteStringCollection at startup. As an example, suppose I'm letting the user type in a name. I have a list of possible first names ("Joe", "John") and a list of surnames ("Bloggs", "Smith"), but if I have a thousand of each, then that would be a million possible strings - too many to put in the auto complete entries. So initially I want to have just the first names as suggestions ("Joe", "John") , and then once the user has typed the first name, ("Joe"), I want to remove the existing auto complete entries and replace them with a new set consisting of the chosen first name followed by the possible surnames ("Joe Bloggs", "Joe Smith"). In order to do this, I tried the following code: void InitializeComboBox() { ComboName.AutoCompleteMode = AutoCompleteMode.SuggestAppend; ComboName.AutoCompleteSource = AutoCompleteSource.CustomSource; ComboName.AutoCompleteCustomSource = new AutoCompleteStringCollection(); ComboName.TextChanged += new EventHandler( ComboName_TextChanged ); } void ComboName_TextChanged( object sender, EventArgs e ) { string text = this.ComboName.Text; string[] suggestions = GetNameSuggestions( text ); this.ComboQuery.AutoCompleteCustomSource.Clear(); this.ComboQuery.AutoCompleteCustomSource.AddRange( suggestions ); } However, this does not work properly. It seems that the call to Clear() causes the auto complete mechanism to "turn off" until the next character appears in the combo box, but of course when the next character appears the above code calls Clear() again, so the user never actually sees the auto complete functionality. It also causes the entire contents of the combo box to become selected, so between every keypress you have to deselect the existing text, which makes it unusable. If I remove the call to Clear() then the auto complete works, but it seems that then the AddRange() call has no effect, because the new suggestions that I add do not appear in the auto complete dropdown. I have been searching for a solution to this, and seen various things suggested, but I cannot get any of them to work - either the auto complete functionality appears disabled, or new strings do not appear. Here is a list of things I have tried: Calling BeginUpdate() before changing the strings and EndUpdate() afterwards. Calling Remove() on all the existing strings instead of Clear(). Clearing the text from the combobox while I update the strings, and adding it back afterwards. Setting the AutoCompleteMode to "None" while I change the strings, and setting it back to "SuggestAppend" afterwards. Hooking the TextUpdate or KeyPress event instead of TextChanged. Replacing the existing AutoCompleteCustomSource with a new AutoCompleteStringCollection each time. None of these helped, even in various combinations. Spence suggested that I try overriding the ComboBox function that gets the list of strings to use in auto complete. Using a reflector I found a couple of methods in the ComboBox class that look promising - GetStringsForAutoComplete() and SetAutoComplete(), but they are both private so I can't access them from a derived class. I couldn't take that any further. I tried replacing the ComboBox with a TextBox, because the auto complete interface is the same, and I found that the behaviour is slightly different. With the TextBox it appears to work better, in that the Append part of the auto complete works properly, but the Suggest part doesn't - the suggestion box briefly flashes to life but then immediately disappears. jquery load and tinymce gives me a "g.win.document is null" on subsequent loads

So... very excited as first post on stackoverflow I have this page, clicking a button will call editIEPProgram(). editIEPProgram counts how many specific divs exists, adds another div, loads it with html from '/content/mentoring/iep_program.php' and then calls $("textarea.tinymce").tinymce to add a rich text editor to the newly added text boxes. It finally adds a tab which handles the new stuff and bob is your uncle. It ALMOST works. Clicking the button the first adds everything and everything woks, on the second and subsequent click, everything is added but the tinymce fails to initiate (I guess) and gives me "g.win.document is null". Execute a SQlite command with Entity Framework

Hi everybody, I use a SQLite database and Entity Framework (with .net framework 3.5). I'm trying to execute a simple SQL non query command to create a new table in this datase. My Entity Framework already contains the object model for this table : I just want to generate the corresponding table using a command. (By the way, there is maybe a better way to do this. Integrating Google Analytics into GWT application

This should be totally simple but I can't get it working no matter what I try. I'm trying to use Google Analytics with GWT application. From what I understood, there are two way to do it: First is synchronous, by inserting tracking code at the end of <head> section HTML page and then calling this method: public static native void recordAnalyticsHit(String pageName) /*-{ pageTracker._trackPageview(pageName); }-*/; Second is asynchronous, by inserting tracking code just after <body> tag and then calling this method: public static native void recordAnalyticsHit(String pageName) /*-{ _gaq.push(['_trackPageview(' + pageName + ')']); }-*/; When running each of those methods, however, I get this exceptions in hosted mode: [ERROR] [myproject] Uncaught exception escaped com.google.gwt.core.client.JavaScriptException: (ReferenceError): pageTracker is not defined [ERROR] [myproject] Uncaught exception escaped com.google.gwt.core.client.JavaScriptException: (ReferenceError): _gaq is not defined When observing site in Firebug, I see that ga.js gets loaded, but that's about it. Did anyone get Analytics working with GWT? Also, does _gaq accept page name as trackPageview parameter, since all the examples I've seen use this call: _gaq.push(['_trackPageview()']); (Of course, that also doesn't work for me.)

CSS: Freeze table header and first column, *but only on certain axes*

Hello all, I have a variation on a common question, and I'll try to explain it as best I can. It may take some visualization on your part. I have an HTML table (in reality there are tables within tables within divs within tables -- I'm using the JSGantt plugin). I'd like for the table header to be frozen only when I scroll down on the y-axis, but if I need to scroll right to see more data, I would like it to scroll right. Meanwhile, as I scroll down (with the header row staying put), I'd like the first column of the table to scroll down with me. But when I scroll right, I want the first column to stay put (but as I mentioned above, the header row to scroll with me). So essentially I've frozen the first column only on the x-axis and the header row only on the y-axis. I'll stop there for now. If anyone needs more clarification I can try to explain. I've tried this multiple ways, but I'm convinced that it may not be possible without some serious javascript. The table, by the way, is contained within an outer div with set dimensions, hence the need for me to scroll the data. Any help you can provide would be greatly appeciated. Thanks very much.

GWT carousel widget

Hello, I'm currently working on a GWT project, in which I need to use a "carousel" widget. The carousel widget is supposed to display pieces of information and 2 arrows - when the user clicks on one of the arrow, the content is moved with an animation and replaced with new content. I've been looking through the available widget libs, but the "carousel" widget does not seem to be that available. The only real candidate I found is the gwt-yui-carousel widget (see link below), but this seems to be an overload of ressources - though it does almost exactly what I need, but instead of displaying simple images, I'll have to display, in MVP terms, a view/presenter. Is there a better carousel widget available that I would not know of ? Or should I extend an existing one to create the desired effect ? Would you recommend to use the gwt-yui-carousel (I don't think so) ? If there is no better option, do you think that it would be a good idea to create the widget myself ? Note that I think that the key thing is, here, that I'll have to display presenter/views, which will fetch data in DataBase on arrow clicks and so on - so a customisation of an existing widget would be required, or the chosen widget should be able to display a list of GWT Widgets. Again I don't think that I can use one of the existing usual carousel widgets, since those are not "gwt-oriented" and could not support view/presenters and all this gwt stuff ;) Any answer would be greatly appreciated :) Best regards, Nils

Silverlight 2 Error Code: 4004

Hey guys/gals. I have a silverlight 2 app that has an ObservableCollection of a class from a separate assem/lib. When I set my ListBox.ItemsSource on that collection, and run it, I get the error code: 4004 "System.ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range." Is there some security things going on behind the scenes? Also, I'm using the generate a html page option and not the aspx option, when I created this Silverlight 2 app.

Transform OpenGL coordinates to lower UIView coordinates

Hi, I am new to OpenGL over iPhone. I am developing an iPhone app similar to a barcode reader but with an extra OpenGL layer. The bottommost layer is UIImagePickerController, then I use UIView on top and draw a rectangle at certain co-ordinates on the iphone screen. So far everything is OK. Then I am trying to draw an OpenGL 3-D model in that rectangle. I am able to load a 3-D model in the iPhone based on this code here - http://iphonedevelopment.blogspot.com/2008/12/start-of-wavefront-obj-file-loader.html I am not able to transform the co-ordinates of the rectangle into OpenGL co-ordinates. Appreciate any help. Do I need to use a matrix to translate the currentPosition of the 3-D model so it is drawn within myRect? The code is given below.. Appreciate any help/pointers in this regards.
