  • Unable to edit .less file dynamically using dotless

    I've installed dotless and i see the handler has been added to my web.config file. However, i am unable to make changes to the .less file dynamically and reload the page and see the effect of the changes...Is there some setting I need to turn on?   • Rewrite only external requests to a certain URL

  • Why does the rename() syscall prohibit moving a directory that I can't write to a different director

    I am trying to understand why this design decision was made with the rename() syscall in 4.2BSD. There's nothing I'm trying to solve here, just understand the rationale for the behavior itself. 4.2BSD saw the introduction of the rename() syscall for the purpose of allowing atomic renames/moves of files. From 4.3BSD-Reno/src/sys/ufs/ufs_vnops.c: /* * If ".." must be changed (ie the directory gets a new * parent) then the source directory must not be in the * directory heirarchy above the target, as this would * orphan everything below the source directory. Also * the user must have write permission in the source so * as to be able to change "..". My question is - why? Is this behavior supposed to be intuitive? The effect of this is that one cannot move a directory (located in a directory that one can write) that one cannot write to another directory that one can write to atomically. You can, however, create a new directory, move the links over (assuming one has read access to the directory), and then remove one's write bit on the directory. I can, however, achieve the same effect non-atomically by changing permissions, making the new directory, using ln to create the new links, and changing permissions. (Left as an exercise to the reader) . and .. are special cased already, so I don't particularly buy that it is intuitive that if I can't write a directory I can't "change .." which is what the source suggests. Is there any reason for this besides it being the perceived correct behavior by the author of the code? Is there anything bad that can happen if we let people atomically move directories (that they can't write) between directories that they can write?

    The following .htaccess file does not work: SSLrequireSSL RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^secure\.neuralfutures\.com [NC] RewriteRule (.*) - [F] I'm trying to prevent access to anything but "https://secure.neuralfutures.com/docs/", i.e. "https://www.neuralfutures.com/docs/" will fail. I also seem to be running into caching issues: if I upload the new .htaccess with CuteFTP, then do a file refresh in FireFox, it doesn't seem to have any effect on the output at all. I can tell this because if I comment out SSLrequireSSL, it still disallows a http:// request.

  • Automatic clicking on Link build with Javascript by using watin

    I am trying to be able to automate the process of clicking on links built in javascript using watin. In the source code of web page, the links look like href="#", so i think these links works with Javascript. Runscript doesn't work with a Javascript code like "link.click". When i use a "link.flash()" i can see the link flash so i'm sure the script click on the links but there is not effect ( and the script doens't crash ) . Have you any ideas for resolve this problem ?

  • Unlocking a mutex from a different thread (C++)

    I'm using the C++ boost::thread library, which in my case means I'm using pthreads. Officially, a mutex must be unlocked from the same thread which locks it, and I want the effect of being able to lock in one thread and then unlock in another. There are many ways to accomplish this. One possibility would be to write a new mutex class which allows this behavior. For example: class inter_thread_mutex{ bool locked; boost::mutex mx; boost::condition_variable cv; public: void lock(){ boost::unique_lock<boost::mutex> lck(mx); while(locked) cv.wait(lck); locked=true; } void unlock(){ { boost::lock_guard<boost::mutex> lck(mx); if(!locked) error(); locked=false; } cv.notify_one(); } // bool try_lock(); void error(); etc. } I should point out that the above code doesn't guarantee FIFO access, since if one thread calls lock() while another calls unlock(), this first thread may acquire the lock ahead of other threads which are waiting. (Come to think of it, the boost::thread documentation doesn't appear to make any explicit scheduling guarantees for either mutexes or condition variables). But let's just ignore that (and any other bugs) for now. My question is, if I decide to go this route, would I be able to use such a mutex as a model for the boost Lockable concept. For example, would anything go wrong if I use a boost::unique_lock< inter_thread_mutex for RAII-style access, and then pass this lock to boost::condition_variable_any.wait(), etc. On one hand I don't see why not. On the other hand, "I don't see why not" is usually a very bad way of determining whether something will work. The reason I ask is that if it turns out that I have to write wrapper classes for RAII locks and condition variables and whatever else, then I'd rather just find some other way to achieve the same effect.

Now the game is changed so deltaTime isn't always 1/30 but becomes variable. How can I incorporate deltaTime in the calculation of x to keep the "effect per second" the same?

  • How can I extract the original image stream from a System.Drawing.Bitmap object?

    I am embedding images into my assembly using .resx files. Upon runtime, I need to save the images into standalone files, restoring the original content. How can I extract the original file stream from an System.Drawing.Bitmap instance? I know I can create a stream using Bitmap.Save(), but this transcodes (and in effect - inflates) the images, even when saving a PNG back as PNG. Or perhaps my mistake is reading them from Resource as Bitmap in the first place?

  • JavaScript + Maths: Image zoom with CSS3 Transforms, How to set Origin? (with example)

    My Math skills really suck! I'm trying to implement an image zoom effect, a bit like how the Zoom works with Google Maps, but with a grid of fix position images. I've uploaded an example of what I have so far here: http://www.dominicpettifer.co.uk/Files/MosaicZoom.html (uses CSS3 transforms so only works with Firefox, Opera, Chrome or Safari) Use your mouse wheel to zoom in/out. The HTML source is basically an outer div with an inner-div, and that inner-div contains 16 images arranged using absolute position. It's going to be a Photo Mosaic basically. I've got the zoom bit working using CSS3 transforms: $(this).find('div').css('-moz-transform', 'scale(' + scale + ')'); ...however, I'm relying on the mouse X/Y position on the outer div to zoom in on where the mouse cursor is, similar to how Google Maps functions. The problem is that if you zoom right in on an image, move the cursor to the bottom/left corner and zoom again, instead of zooming to the bottom/left corner of the image, it zooms to the bottom/left of the entire mosaic. This has the effect of appearing to jump about the mosaic as you zoom in closer while moving the mouse around, even slightly. That's basically the problem, I want the zoom to work exactly like Google Maps where it zooms exactly to where your mouse cursor position is, but I can't get my head around the Maths to calculate the transform-origin: X/Y values correctly. Please help, been stuck on this for 3 days now.   • How to start/stop CrossSlide (jQuery)

    I found that CrossSlide causes video playback on the same page to stutter quite badly. My thought was to have the cross slide effect on the same page stop or pause during video play back, annd then start again when video stops. Id doesn't look like there is any start stop function included. Does any one know how I might be able to accomplish this? Thanks.
