  • I have to do two seemingly mutually exclusive things on leaving an asp:textbox. Please help me get

    This project has gone from being a simple '99 Ford F-150 to the Homer. I've got controls with a gridview with textboxes for data entry. All the user controls on the pages are in AJAX updatepanels. User types in a database column or budget entity or some other financial thing they want to include in the report. The textboxes in the gridview have autopostback = true set. overly long background info When the user leaves the textbox, during the postback (triggered by onTextChanged) I do some validation back on the server on their entry - regexs, do they have rights to that column, is that column locked, etc. If it fails, I put a error message next to the textbox. If it passes, I wipe out any title or error that used to be next to the code. Focus is getting lost from the postback if they're tabbing out of the box, rather than going to the next textbox in the gridview. So to fix that I need, if their leaving the tb via the tab key, to also figure out what textbox or gridviewrow they're on, if they're not on the last row, and after the validation and labeling, put the focus on the textbox in the next row. I can't figure out how, in ontextchanged, to find what caused me to leave the textbox, so I'm thinking use javascript onkeyup to test the key pressed and then find the next box etc, but the ontextchanged fires first and then the js never does, and also, since the control is all AJAXed, the javascript can't find the textboxes because when you enter the page everything is collapsed (the requirements people loooove to collapse and expand things), and so when it's expanded, all the 'new' textboxes are up in the viewstate stuff in the page source, and not down where javascript can see them. The questions So I'm wondering if I can have an onblur in the javascript that can trigger a postback where I can do my validation and such, and either 1) include the keypressed or pick it out of sender in the event or 2) followup the onblur with onkeyup and somehow figure out what textbox is next on the grid and throw focus there. Or, is there another .NET based approach that could work for this? In terms of tearing the whole thing down and starting from scratch, I couldn't sell that to the bosses, I'm past the point of no return as far as that goes.

But now, when I'm trying to write Entry.objects.filter(pub_date__hour = x) - the result is following error: Field has invalid lookup: hour What should I do else, to make it work?   • Safari cannot recognise GWT History token

    I my application we sent registration email to customer and sends link in that email which contains url#historytoken. On click of this link customer should go to the page specified by that url for historytoken.We are using GWT so entry point handle the request for historytoken. This works on all browsers except Safari. Safari go to the url but cannot recognise the history token after that and remains on the url page. Please help me solve this problem.

  • Default Sorting in DynamicData

    I am using DynamicData in the version that shipped with VS2008. In the default List view, the data is sorted by order of entry into the database. I'd like to get it sorted by a field of a specific name (descending). As a last resort I tried to use the OrderByParameter of the LinqDataSource with a QueryStringParameter, but I could not get it to sort anything. =) Is there an easy way to accomplish this?

  • GQL Request BadArgument Error. How to get around with my case?

    My query is essentially the following: entries=Entry.all().order("-votes").order("-date").filter("votes >", VOTE_FILTER).fetch(PAGE_SIZE+1, page* PAGE_SIZE) I want to grab N of the latest entries that have a voting score above some benchmark (VOTE_FILTER). Google currently says that I cannot filter on 'votes' because I order by 'date.' I don't see a way that I can do this the way I want to, so I'd appreciate any advice.

  • hashing password giving different results

    I am taking over a system that a previous developer wrote. The system has an administrator approve a user account and when they do that the system uses the following method to hash a password and save it to the database. It sends the unhashed password to the user. When the user logs in the system uses the exact same method to hash what the user enters and compares it to the database value. We've run into a couple of times when the database entry doesn't match the user's entry whey they should. So it appears that the method isn't always hashing the value the same. Does anyone know if this method of hashing isn't reliable and how to make it reliable?   • How can a button click method find out which item is selected in a ListView?

    I have a single screen with a bank of buttons below a ListView. Entries on the ListView light up in orange when I scroll so I assume that are selected. When I then press the "Delete" button I want the onClickListener to remove the currently selected entry. But getSelectedItemPosition() always gives me -1. If I can't hope to use the GUI controls in this way, please give me another way of getting the same result. I have even tried setting the onClickListener of the List View to store the index before the button is pressed (in case pressing the button unselects the entry) but even that is always -1 it seems.   • Tree Menu? In JS?

But instead of a listview where you expand/collapse i need a dropdown box with the list and when you click on a element i need the box to update (with the first entry being 'Back') so the menu stays in a neat little dialog. Does this menu have a name? Does anyone know where i can get code to do this?

  • Make SubSonic use existing <connectionstring> instead of new data provider

However, is there a more elegant solution?

There is no messaging middleware available atm. The PHP process inserts an row in a SQL Server table. The Windows process should read this entry and process it. This is because application design does not want to store 8/more password entry into DB and validate new password against that.     i wonder if exceptions that are thrown in php will terminate the script in php? cause when i save an entry that is already created in doctrine it throws an exception. i catch the exception and ignore it (so that the user won't see it) but the script seems to be terminated. is there a way to catch the exception and keep the script alive? thanks

I want to take the primary key (EntryID) from TableA and create a cartesian product (if I am using the term correctly) in TableB (empty table already created) for all entries which share the same value for FieldB in TableA, except where TableA.EntryID equals TableA.EntryID So, for example, if the values in TableA were: TableA.EntryID TableA.FieldB 1 23 2 23 3 23 4 25 5 25 6 25 The result in TableB would be: Primary key EntryID1 EntryID2 FieldD (Default or manually entered) 1 1 2 Default value 2 1 3 Default value 3 2 1 Default value 4 2 3 Default value 5 3 1 Default value 6 3 2 Default value 7 4 5 Default value 8 4 6 Default value 9 5 4 Default value 10 5 6 Default value 11 6 4 Default value 12 6 5 Default value I am used to working in Access and this is the first query I have attempted in SQL. I started trying to work out the query and got this far. I know it's not right yet, as I’m still trying to get used to the syntax and pieced this together from various articles I found online. In particular, I wasn’t sure where the INSERT INTO text went (to create what would be an Append Query in Access). I have been using the Designer Tab. Does there have to be a relationship link between TableA and TableB. If so, would it be two links from the EntryID Primary Key in TableA, one to each EntryID in TableB? I assume this would not work because they are numbered EntryID1 and EntryID2 and the name needs to be the same to set up a relationship? If you can offer any suggestions, I would be very grateful.
