  • Silverlight DataGrid's sort by column doesn't update programmatically changed cells

    - by David Seiler
    For my first Silverlight app, I've written a program that sends user-supplied search strings to the Flickr REST API and displays the results in a DataGrid. Said grid is defined like so: <data:DataGrid x:Name="PhotoGrid" AutoGenerateColumns="False"> <data:DataGrid.Columns> <data:DataGridTextColumn Header="Photo Title" Binding="{Binding Title}" CanUserSort="True" CanUserReorder="True" CanUserResize="True" IsReadOnly="True" /> <data:DataGridTemplateColumn Header="Photo" SortMemberPath="ImageUrl"> <data:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" VerticalAlignment="Center"> <TextBlock Text="Click here to show image" MouseLeftButtonUp="ShowPhoto"/> <Image Visibility="Collapsed" MouseLeftButtonUp="HidePhoto"/> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </data:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> </data:DataGridTemplateColumn> </data:DataGrid.Columns> </data:DataGrid> It's a simple two-column table. The first column contains the title of the photo, while the second contains the text 'Click here to show image'. Clicks there call ShowPhoto(), which updates the Image element's Source property with a BitmapImage derived from the URI of the Flickr photo, and sets the image's visibility to Visible. Clicking on the image thus revealed hides it again. All of this was easy to implement and works perfectly. But whenever I click on one of the column headers to sort by that column, the cells that I've updated in this way do not change. The rest of the DataGrid is resorted and updated appropriately, but those cells remain behind, detached from the rest of their row. This is very strange, and not at all what I want. What am I doing wrong? Should I be freshening the DataGrid somehow in response to the sort event, and if so how? Or if I'm not supposed to be messing with the contents of the grid directly, what's the right way to get the behavior I want?

  • foreach loop corrupting my array?

    - by WmasterJ
    Explanation I have a multidimensional array that is iterated over to created a categorized view of people with different research interests. The main array look something like this: Array ( ... ['Cell Biology'] => Array(4 elements) ['Molecular'] => Array(6 elements) ['Biology Education'] => Array(14 elements) ['Plant Biology'] => Array(19 elements) <--- Last element in array ) I know that the entire array is intact and correctly structured. The only information that is inside these array is an user id, like so: Array ('Plant Biology') 19 elements ( [0] => 737 [1] => 742 [2] => 748 ... ) My problem is that after i run the main array through a foreach loop the last 'sub-array' gets messed up. By messed up I mean that what you see about instead look like: String (13 characters) 'Plant Biology' This is without doing at all anything inside the loop with to the array that gets corrupted. Any tips to what it might be? PHP Code // ---> Array is OK here echo "<h2>Research divided</h2>"; // Loop areas and list them in 2 columns foreach($research['areas'] as $area => $areaArray) { // ---> Here it is already corrupted $count = count($areaArray); if($count > 0) { echo "<h3>$area</h3><hr/>"; echo "<table class='area_list'><tr>"; // Loop users within areas, divided up in 2 columns for($i=0 ; $i<$count ; $i++) { $uid = $areaArray[$i]; echo "<li>$uid</li>"; } echo "</tr></table>"; } }

  • Is there a Pair-Wise PostHoc Comparisons for the Chi-Square Test in R?

    - by Tal Galili
    Hi all, I am wondering if there exists in R a package/function to perform the: "Post Hoc Pair-Wise Comparisons for the Chi-Square Test of Homogeneity of Proportions" (or an equivalent of it) Which is described here: http://epm.sagepub.com/cgi/content/abstract/53/4/951 My situation is of just making a chi test, on a 2 by X matrix. I found a difference, but I want to know which of the columns is "responsible" for the difference. Thanks, Tal

  • JSF, datatable and onRowClick

    - by asrijaal
    Hi there, I want a commandlink to be executed when the row is clicked in my datatable. I've created a <h:commandLink> in one of my columns, where a parameter is passed through <f:setActionPropertyListener/> Is there a clean solution to fire this link by a rowClick? Sure I could workaround my missing knowledge with some jQuery but there should be a cleaner way?

  • Binding DynamicObject to a DataGrid with automatic column generation?

    - by SeveQ
    I'm still experimenting with DynamicObjects. Now I need some information: I'm trying to bind an object inheriting from DynamicObject to a WPF DataGrid (not Silverlight). How do I get the DataGrid to automatically create its columns from the available public properties of the object that are typically generated at runtime? Is that possible actually?

  • WPF 4 Datagrid with ComboBox

    - by Doug
    I have a WPF 4 app with a ComboBox embedded in a DataGrid. The ComboBox is in a template column that displays the combobox when in edit mode but just a TextBlock otherwise. If I edit the cell and pick a new value from the combobox, when leaving the cell, the TextBlock in view mode does not reflect the new value. Ultimately, the new value gets saved and is displayed when the window is refreshed but it does not happen while still editing in the grid. Here are the parts that are making this more complicated. The grid and the combobox are bound to different ItemsSource from the EnityFramework which is tied to my database. For this problem, the grid is displaying project members. The project member name can be picked from the combobox which gives a list of all company employees. Any ideas on how to tie the view mode of the DataGridColumnTemplate to the edit value when they are pointing to different DataSources? Relevant XAML <Window.Resources> <ObjectDataProvider x:Key="EmployeeODP" /> </Window.Resources> <StackPanel> <DataGrid Name="teamProjectGrid" AutoGenerateColumns="false" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=ProjectMembers}" <DataGrid.Columns> <DataGridTemplateColumn Header="Name" x:Name="colProjectMember"> <DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=ProjectMemberFullName}" /> </DataTemplate> </DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataGridTemplateColumn.CellEditingTemplate> <DataTemplate> <ComboBox x:Name="ProjectMemberCombo" IsReadOnly="True" DisplayMemberPath="FullName" SelectedValue="{Binding Path=Employee}" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource EmployeeODP}}" /> </DataTemplate> </DataGridTemplateColumn.CellEditingTemplate> </DataGridTemplateColumn> <DataGridTextColumn x:Name="colProjectRole" Binding="{Binding Path=ProjectRole}" Header="Role" /> </DataGrid.Columns> </DataGrid> </StackPanel> Relevant Code Behind this.DataContext = new MyEntityLibrary.MyProjectEntities(); ObjectDataProvider EmployeeODP= (ObjectDataProvider)FindResource("EmployeeODP"); if (EmployeeODP != null) { EmployeeODP.ObjectInstance = this.DataContext.Employees; }

  • Speed boost to adjacency matrix

    I currently have an algorithm that operates on an adjacency matrix of size n by m. In my algorithm, I need to zero out entire rows or columns at a time. My implementation is currently O(m) or O(n) depending on if it's a column or row. Is there any way to zero out a column or row in O(1) time?

  • ASP.NET 2.0 - scaffolding a database table for webforms

    - by Francis Huang
    Can you recommend a tool that can analyze a SQL database table, read the table columns, and populate an .aspx page with appropriate controls (i.e. textboxes with matching labels)? See this demo of ComponentOne InputPanel for WinForms for the functionality desired. Are there any built-in tools for ASP.NET 2.0 WebForms that can help build a scaffold page for any given database table or entity? Are there any free components out there to help achieve this goal?

  • DataGridView Column drag and drop with Auto-horizontal scroll

    - by yona
    Can anyone please suggest how should I implement column drag and drop (with auto scroll) feature in DataGridView. I know I can use the controll's AllowUserToDragDrop option. However, since my datagridview control has relatively large number of columns, I need an auto scroll feature which follows the current drag-drop position so that users can see the destination column(s) before dropping. I have implemented the custom drag and drop feature but still I am having problem to enable auto scroll option.

  • How do bind a List<object> to a DataGrid in Silverlight?

    - by Ben McCormack
    I'm trying to create a simple Silverlight application that involves parsing a CSV file and displaying the results in a DataGrid. I've configured my application to parse the CSV file to return a List<CSVTransaction> that contains properties with names: Date, Payee, Category, Memo, Inflow, Outflow. The user clicks a button to select a file to parse, at which point I want the DataGrid object to be populated. I'm thinking I want to use data binding, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the data to show up in the grid. My XAML for the DataGrid looks like this: <data:DataGrid IsEnabled="False" x:Name="TransactionsPreview"> <data:DataGrid.Columns> <data:DataGridTextColumn Header="Date" Binding="{Binding Date}" /> <data:DataGridTextColumn Header="Payee" Binding="{Binding Payee}"/> <data:DataGridTextColumn Header="Category" Binding="{Binding Category}"/> <data:DataGridTextColumn Header="Memo" Binding="{Binding Memo}"/> <data:DataGridTextColumn Header="Inflow" Binding="{Binding Inflow}"/> <data:DataGridTextColumn Header="Outflow" Binding="{Binding Outflow}"/> </data:DataGrid.Columns> </data:DataGrid> The code-behind for the xaml.cs file looks like this: private void OpenCsvFile_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { try { CsvTransObject csvTO = new CsvTransObject.ParseCSV(); //This returns a List<CsvTransaction> and passes it //to a method which is supposed to set the DataContext //for the DataGrid to be equal to the list. BindCsvTransactions(csvTO.CsvTransactions); TransactionsPreview.IsEnabled = true; MessageBox.Show("The CSV file has a valid header and has been loaded successfully."); } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show(ex.Message); } } private void BindCsvTransactions(List<CsvTransaction> listYct) { TransactionsPreview.DataContext = listYct; } My thinking is to bind the CsvTransaction properties to each DataGridTextColumn in the XAML and then set the DataContext for the DataGrid to the List<CsvTransaction at run-time, but this isn't working. Any ideas about how I might approach this (or do it better)?

  • Execution time of ALTER COLUMN

    - by Tommy Jakobsen
    Having a table with 60 columns, and 200 rows. Altering a BIT column from NULL to NOT NULL, now has a running execution time of over 3 hours. Why is this taking so long? This is the query that I'm execution: ALTER TABLE tbl ALTER COLUMN col BIT NOT NULL Is there a faster way to do it, besides creating a new column, updating it with values from the old column, then dropping the old column and renaming the new one? This is on MS SQL Server 2005.
