  • IE 7 CSS problem with detecting mouse over on div

    I have a div inside an li as part of a top navigation for a website. I'm having trouble with IE 7 having "holes" in the box such that the drop down disappears when the user is still on the drop down. I started with a pure CSS solution (li:hover) and that works awesome in all browsers except IE 7. So I've now added a jQuery/javascript solution to detect when the mouse enters and exits the nav li and then add a class to show the drop down. It works better, but if the mouse is not over an image, p, h3, or a tag then it doesn't think I'm over the div that is the drop down. Very frustrating. I can post some test code, but the issue can be viewed here: http://davincidays.org/ Anyone have any ideas? I've been working on this for waaaay too long already and need some fresh things to try.

    I want to be able to open my shadowbox gallery in wordpress by directly clicking the portfolio link in the navbar. Right now it either opens the portfolio page I made with the gallery in it or opens images separately (without shadowbox), this was because I tried adding html to the Nav Label in the wordpress dashboard.     I am currently using jQuery cycle to display featured projects. I currently have the next and prev buttons setup, I also have four rounded buttons in between. I would like them to function as both a link to the corresponding slide as well as add a class to the button who's slide is currently active. I have the nav setup and the active class setup I just need the jQuery. You can see the code at http://jjnold.com/dev in the main slider at the top. I was thinking it's probably something like this to assign the class but I'm not sure how to link to the corresponding slide and have them work together.   • Should I use ObservableCollections in my Model in M-V-VM

    I'm completely new to M-V-VM and very new to Silverlight, just reading about it for the first time today. As a sample, I am creating a model containing a list of items. My (Silverlight 4) View contains a listbox and my ViewModel will look to the model to retrieve the collection that the listbox will bind to. My question is this. I think it would be good to use an ObservableCollection to hold the items that the listbox binds to. This would be an ObseravleCollection in the ViewModel. Should I also use this type of collection in the model, or should I use another collection type and do smoe conversion between model and viewmodel?

  • How to Print reports in Silvelright 4

    I am wondering if there is anything built in to Silverlight, or possibly c# to allow for printing reports? I'd be happy with any number of methods: exporting files to a pdf format and printing from there, exporting as a text document of some sort and printing from there, or just simply showing the print dialog from the web application itself. I know there are ways to do this in C#, but the c# code-behind is different for many things in Silverlight applications and I can't seem to find anything that will work. So if anyone has any ideas on things I could try it would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

Then I've decided to add more code, which is commented in the snippet above, making it to be inserting of 2 x Company entity and 1 x Employee entity, and then I got exception: Unable to determine the principal end of the 'CodeLab.EFTest.Employee_Company' relationship. Multiple added entities may have the same primary key. Does this mean that in cases where foreign key is 0, and there is a single matching entity being inserted in same SaveChanges transaction, Entity Framework will assume that foreign key should be for that matching entity? In second test, when there are two entities matching the relation type, Entity Framework throws an exception as it is not able to figure out to which of the Companies Employee should be related to.

  • Xcode method navigation

    In Xcode 4, I can press Ctrl-6 to get a list of all the methods in the current file. The problem is, if I have private methods declared at the top of my implementation file, say: @interface Foo () -(void)tap:(id)sender; @end @implementation Foo ... -(void)tap:(id)sender { ... } then starting to type "tap" while the method list is visible will just take me to the declaration, since it comes first in the file, when what I really want is the implementation. Is there any way to exclude these declarations from the method list or do I need to resort to separate Foo.h and Foo+Private.h headers? Thanks!

    Hi I'm new in iphone developing. The question is : I have a RootViewController with 2 uibutton. When i execute "memory monitor instrument on my iphone device OS3" RealMemory goes from 3.75M to 4.58M (I launch a uiview1controller by click on one UIbutton, then i close it and return to the RootViewController). When i close then uiview1 then memory goes to 4.22M. Why not to 3.75M? (uiview1controller is a simple test. nothing inside.) if i launch again uiview1controller memory increase from 4.22M and then retunrs to 4.22M. Correct. Then i launch uiview2controller from second uibutton. RealMemory goes from 4.22 to 6.01M. When i close the uiview1controller memory goes to 4.73M. Why not to 4.22? uiview1controller is a simple uiview with 3 uilabel and 3 uiimage designed with InterfaceBuilder and . the ONLY code write from me in uiview2controller is declare 3 iboutlet uitextfield and set uitextfileld text in loading. every time i launch the uiview2controller and close it memory increase of 0.51M ? What's worong? i tried to release iboutlet but it's the same. Thank you very much.

CSS transitions are not widely supported by browsers and my animations are not working in Opera, IE etc. Since i'm already using YUI 2.8 on that page, can somebody tell me how do i animate those tabs? When i click on any tab, it should expand in vertical dimension smoothly (animated).     I'm trying to replace the navigation on our sharepoint site with a treeview. It's a large site with up to 4 subsite leves in places. All I need it to do is show a consistent structure from page to page show only sites and pages The default sharepoint treeview seems to do neither of these things (doesn't display items from the parent site, includes document libraries but not pages). Does anyone have any idea how to achieve this? We're using the publishing site template throughout if that makes a difference. I've tried binding the tree to the datasource the quick launch uses but I guess from the error message they expect differently named properties.

    I've been trying all day and reading a few things, but for some reason my code isn't working right What i'm trying to achieve is this: When i create an un ordered list in my index page - I want my jquery to automatically add around the text in the anchor. So i want it to look like this <li><a href="index.htm"><span>Home</span></a></li> while I am only adding: <li><a href="index.htm">Home</a></li> I want to do this because i have a LOT of list items and instead of writing when i'm adding pages it makes the most sense to save some time in the long run and create a loop that will handle that anytime i add one.     In my JSF/Facelets application, I want to dynamically generate a breadcrumb trail from a list of page IDs using a custom tag: <foo:breadcrumbs trail="foo,bar,baz"/> This should generate something like: <h:commandLink action="foo" ... /> <h:commandLink action="bar" ... /> <!-- (etc.) --> My code looks something like this: <ui:repeat value="#{fn:split(trail, ',')}" var="key"> <h:commandLink action="#{key}" ... /> </ui:repeat> The problem with this code is that #{key} is interpreted as a method binding. However, I just want the string value of #{key} to be returned as the navigation outcome. How can I achieve this? The only thing I could think of was creating a dummy managed-bean that has an outcome field and an action handler, and invoke it like so: <h:commandLink action="#{dummy.click}" ...> <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{dummy.outcome}" value="#{key}" /> </h:commandLink> with the dummy class defined like so: public class Dummy { private String outcome; public String click() { return outcome; } public void setOutcome(String outcome) { this.outcome = outcome; } public void getOutcome() { return outcome; } } That seems ugly though, and I don't know if it would work.

I can get a normal Silverlight control to work in both Silverlight 3 and Silverlight 4, but not the phone version. Now I want a static IoC container that can be shared across these layers. I want to make my View testable and to do that I’ll have to inject the various dependencies in various layers and mock out those dependencies as well. Now issue I am facing is where to declare and load ninject modules. i also realised in Silverlight version of Ninject there is no version of Load which take string arugment, which can be used to load the modules dynamically Load("*.dll").   • Visual Studio 2010 and Silverlight - Adding Data Sources

    Hello, I am interested in building a Silverlight application that uses RIA Services. I am using this video (http://live.visitmix.com/MIX10/Sessions/CL08) as an example. In that video, the presenter uses the "data sources" tab to populate the view. However, I cannot figure out how to add a data source from within Visual Studio 2010. I have a database on my local machine. This database is the sample AdventureWorks database. When I select my Silverlight application, there is a UserRegistrationContext in the data sources window. However, I cannot figure out how to add a new one that connects to my AdventureWorks database. Can somebody tell me how to do this? Thank you!

  • How to Communicate between minifb and a GAE-Hosted Silverlight Client

    I have a minifb app (technically gminifb) running on Google App Engine with a bunch of handlers for processing all kinds of requests from a Silverlight client. What's the recommended approach for adding the FB GET variables, such as fb_sig, to the HTTP requests? I believe I can technically pass the session key and uid directly and get things to work but it seems there's probably a much better way to do this. I was reading about FBJS AJAX and I'm trying to figure out how I can use it to proxy the HTTP requests from the Silverlight client through it. Is this a good way to do it? And if so, how would I go about doing so? Any other recommendations would be appreciated too. Thanks,
