  • why sendmail resolves to ISP domain?

    I wish to setup a local mail server for debugging purposes using fedora 15 I set up sendmail, but there is a problem. When I'm not connected to the internet, the local mail server delivers correctly (to localhost). [85.18.95.21], dsn=5.1.1, stat=User unknown As you can see, it tries to deliver a mail to [email protected], and fails The setup is working under other ISPs. How can I avoid the fastweb ISP DNS relay? Thank you

  • Cannot dual Windows XP and Ubuntu

    I am new to Ubuntu and at the moment I am trying to get Ubuntu 12.10 to one of my machines. The machine is a Pentium 4 @ 3.06, 2Gb RAM, 200GB Hard Drive and a NVidia GeForce 8800 GT. A few days ago, I tried Ubuntu without installing and it worked perfectly. Yesterday, I decided to formatted the hard drive and divide my hard drive into four partitions: 1 for the XP, 1 for Ubuntu, 1 for swamp and 1 where I will have my documents. Everything went great, I installed XP and then Ubuntu but I did something wrong on the partition window (Ubunto partion window) that I ended up without boot loader. This morning, I formatted everything again, installed XP and when I went to install Ubuntu (with the same DVD as before) the problems started. First, I had a black screen with a msg written with white text saying something like: unable to find a medium containing a live file system. After I burned another CD and tried again, I got stuck at the red dots (loading screen). I then went online and I read somewhere that it could be the CD, so I checked the integrity of the CD and everything was fine. I also unplugged all USBs connected to the computer and nothing changed. I goggled further options to try to solve my problem and some users suggested that people having these types of problems should try the alternate installation, which if I am not wrong is for networks. I then tried to install and yes the installation process was different from the normal CD, but it did get stuck on a page where it was doing something, like: ...finding ethd0 and it was stuck on the 100%. I tried USB installation as well and it also got stuck at the red dots (I do not have USB 3.0 on the computer in question). I have burned 5 different CD's and all at low speed. I checked the integrity and all are fine. I downloaded other distribution as well as other versions of Ubuntu and I still cannot install or even run the Live CD of Ubuntu or any other distribution. What is really annoying me is that everything was working perfectly before, when I first tried to install Ubuntu. Anyway, any help is welcome. Edit: My boot load is normal, no errors and all the hardware is working fine. I forgot to mention that after the loading screen (red dots) gets stuck, the DVD drive and the hard drive goes into idle state. I also restored the default values of the BIOS and no luck.

  • Update Manager won't open (error related to pythonverbose)

    I'm having an issue with update-manager. Last night, my computer restart suddenly during the update process. Now it won't open and it keep appearing on the notifier with a message warning that an error occurred. The error is the same that is displayed when I try to open it on the terminal: Error in sitecustomize; set PYTHONVERBOSE for traceback: EOFError: EOF read where not expected Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/update-manager", line 26, in <module> from __future__ import print_function EOFError: EOF read where not expected I've already seen some questions here, but most of them are related to problems with ppas and the source.list file. This seems to be a bug on update-manager itself. I've already tried to remove it and install again, but the problem persists. I also noted another bug: my source-center doesn't open too. The message for it is similar to the other one: Error in sitecustomize; set PYTHONVERBOSE for traceback: EOFError: EOF read where not expected Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/command-not-found", line 5, in <module> from __future__ import absolute_import, print_function EOFError: EOF read where not expected For now I'm using apt-get update && upgrade for updating and the Synaptic for the source management. But I really would like to fix this stuff. Anyone can help? I'm with Ubuntu 12.10, Gnome-remix, 64-bits.

  • Creating svn repo programmatically from a webpage and sudo

    We want to automate the creation of the svn repos and trac environments for new projects. Basically, this would mean creating a web script that got some info (like env and repo name, etc) from the user and then executed sudo -u svn svnadmin create /var/svn/<projectname> trac-admin /var/trac/sites/<projectname> initenv [... All extra params...] For the second command, this is simple, as it already runs as the www-data user, so I wouldn't have to use sudo. But for the first command, I'd have to use sudo and add www-data to the sudoers file. I was wondering if this is a good idea, and how to do it in that case. Reading the manpage has left me with more doubts than certainties about this. This webserver would only be accessible from our internal network, by the way. The OS is Ubuntu Server 10.04.

  • Autotesting a network interface

    Hi All, I'm developing a software component responsible for testing if a network interface has conectivity with the internet. Think of it as the same test the XBOX360 does to inform the user if it's connected with the Live network (just as an example). So far I figured the autotest would run as this: 1) Test the physical network interface (if the cable is conected, has up/downlink, etc...) 2) Test the logical network (has IP address, has DNS, etc...) 3) Connects to the internet (can access google, for example) 4) ??? 5) Profit! (just kidding...) My question relates to step 3: How can I detect, correctly, if my software has connection with the internet ? Is there any fixed IP address to ping ? The problem is that I don't want to rely solely on google.com (or any other well-known address), as those can change in time, and my component will be embbeded on a mobile device, not easy to update. Any suggestions ?

In my database i have store = "Via Rápida" i'm doing : local = Local.objects.filter(name__icontains=request.GET['descricao']) with that i can get everthing fine like "Via Rapida" but the result that have "Via rápida" never get match in the query (ASCI caracter may be ?) what must i do given a string "Via rapida" match "via rápida" and "via rapida" ? Regular Expressions ? how ? Thanks

  • Outlook 2007 receives html mail as source with headers, others MUAs work fine. Why?

    I have a couple of simple forms that send an html-only email. Most clients (Gmail, Lotus Notes 8, hotmail/live, windows live mail, outlook express) receive the emails just fine, but Outlook 2007 does not.     I'm trying to migrate my flat php project to Symfony2, but its coming to be very hard. For instance, I have a table of Products specification that have several specifications and are distinguishables by its "cat" attribute in that Extraspecs DB table. Therefore I've created a Entity for that table and want to make an array of just the specifications with "cat" = 0... I supose the code is this one.. right? $typeavailable = $this->getDoctrine() ->getRepository('LabsCatalogBundle:ProductExtraspecsSpecs') ->findBy(array('cat' => '0')); Now how can i put this in an array to work with a form like this?: form = $this ->createFormBuilder($product) ->add('specs', 'choice', array('choices' => $typeavailableArray), 'multiple' => true) Thank you in advance :) # Thank you all..   • Is it possible / recommendable sending HTML emails containing Javascript?

    This is mostly a rhetorical question, as far as I've checked the answer is 'don't even bother', but I wanted to be really sure. We have an email app, where you can send email to lists of subscribers. This is not spam: it's used, for example, by an university to send communications to its students, by a museum to send emails to subscribers, etc. Recently, I was asked by a prospective client if it was possible to send html messages containing javascript without being marked as spam. Not knowing, I did a short trip of the webs and what I've got is (percentages out of my posterior) 'half the clients won't display properly', 'half the clients will flag you as spam' and 'half the clients will have blocked javascript altogether' (There's clearly some superposition). So the best solution seems to be adding a link to a proper page if really necessary. Have you got a different experience? Do you know of any email-merge solution that provides this feature? Do you know if specific clients accept it or refuse to display html with javascript?

  • Service Testing made easy with SO-Aware Test Workbench

    I happy to announce today a new addition to our SO-Aware service repository toolset, SO-Aware Test Workbench, a WPF desktop application for doing functional and load testing against existing WCF Services. This tool is completely integrated to the SO-Aware service repository, which makes configuring new load and functional tests for WCF Soap and REST services a breeze. From now on, the service repository can play a very important role in an organization by facilitating collaboration between developers and testers. Developers can create and register new services in the repository with all the related artifacts like configuration. On the other hand, Testers can just pick one of the existing services in the repository and create functional or load tests from there, with no need to deal with specific details of the service implementation, location or configuration settings. Developers and Testers can later use the result of those tests to modify the services or adjust different settings on the tests or service configuration.   • Nullable types and ?? operator C# [en-US]

    Nullable types vs Non-nullable types   While developing our C# projects its frequent the null comparison operation to avoid null exceptions. This simple operation is mainly coded using the "var x = null" code example inside an if clause. However not all types of variables are nullable, which means that setting a variable to null is not allowed in every cases, it depends on what kind of type are you defining. But what if there was an extension to your non-nullable type that would convert your variable types to nullable? This extension really exists. As I said before in C# you have nullable types which represent all the values of an underlying type, and an additional null value and can be declared easily using "T?", where T is the type of the variable and for example the normal int type cannot be null, so its a non-nullable type, however if you define a "int?" your variable can be null, what you do is convert a non-nullable type to a nullable type. Example: int x=null;     Not allowed     int? x=null;   Allowed     While using nullable types you can check if a variable is null the same way you do it with nullable types:     But what about setting a default value when a certain variable is null?   In this cases the c# .net framework let you set a default value when you try to assign a nullable type to a non-nullable type, using the ?? operator. If you don't use this operator you can still catch the InvalidOperationException which is throw in this cases. I thought I could remove the duplicates using a multi-dimensional remove duplicate function but that didn't work. I'm guessing my problem is in the array_split function. Any suggestions? :)
