I'm trying to create hidden iframes in my page dynamically to load 3 other pages so that i can grab all the HTML and combine them into 1 in a new window. However i'm stuck at this. tHe frames are created fine. But whenever the javascript runs to the part of openNewWindow(); { var printWindow = window.open("",""); printWindow.document.open(); printWindow.document.write(HTMLfromFrames); printWindow.document.close(); } i get this error: TypeError: Result of expression 'printWindow' [undefined] is not an object. but if i generate a button to call this function seperately, it works fine. however i need it to run all in one click event Anybody as any idea what's wrong? Mootools Accordion nonfunctional in Opera

Find Window At Location Using Carbon And Carbon Problems In 64-Bit Applications

As I said in some questions today I´m looking for the way to get window or windowPart references at a certain location. Although I know I could use Cocoa for this purpose (I don´t know how to do it yet) I prefer (and probably need) to do this using Carbon because the entire application that needs this functionality is written in C++ but I´ve found many problems trying it. Does anyone get a valid windowPtr or windowRef using one of the following functions? FindWindow, MacFindWindow, HIWindowFindAtLocation or FindWindowOfClass I always get 0 as the windowRef or windowPtr that I´m looking for. What I´m doing wrong? Any ideas? It´s true that now if you want to create a 64-bit application for Mac OS X, you need to use Cocoa to implement its user interface because some APIs commonly used by Carbon applications are not available in 64-bit applications? VS2010 - Add template to New Project window

I am trying to add a new project template for an often used pattern. Starting from the class library template I have done the following (it still does not show up in the new project window): opened the .vstemplate file changed name and description to 'hard coded' values (my template). The values in there pulled from the csharpui.dll resources. changed the TemplateID, DefaultName, and ProjectItems included. saved these to the ProjectemplatesCache folder and as a zip in the ProjectTemplates folder. restarted VS2010 and checked the new project location which should have shown my new template. specifically, the folders I saved to were.. C:\program files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplatesCache\CSharp\Windows\1033\HostComm.zip (the zip is the folder name, not a zip file) and C:\program files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplates\CSharp\Windows\1033 (this folder has a HostComm.zip file in it) Has anyone else done this? Can it be done? If it can then what did I miss?

Qt - activate window

It has this parameters: this->setWindowFlags(Qt::Tool); this->setFocusPolicy(Qt::StrongFocus); this->setAttribute(Qt::WA_QuitOnClose,true); After showEvent calles my window is shown but unactivated. I tried to overload show function: ... QMainWindow::showEvent(event); this->activateWindow(); ... But it doesn't help me. EDIT: When i commented line this->setWindowFlags(Qt::Tool); everything worked fine, but i need in tool-flag. Any ideas? EDIT: OS: Linux Programming language: c++ Qt version: 4.5.1

nyroModal Window on flash background

I've got a Flex App running at 100% width and 100% height. I've also got the app div's z-index to 0. In Firefox this looks fine, everything works. In Chrome however, nyroModal's fade-in/transparent overlay does not show up, and only the second swf is visible overtop the background flash. Am I missing anything here? Is this a known issue with Chrome?

Hello. I want to handle following scenarios in my new web application. If multiple users log into the application with same credentials, the application should deny access. Since I have out of process session store, I would be able to make out when this situation happens. So I can deny all requests after first successful attempt. This will however not work if the user instead of logging out of the application, closes the browser. The session will continue to reflect in the store for the period of timeout value. If a user attempts to open a new browser windows (Ctrl+N), the application should defeat this attempt. Every new page can potentially fiddle with cookies. I want to therefore deny the users the ability to open new window.

Vertex Buffer Object not drawing in SDL window

I'm just using the opengl SDL template with Xcode, and everything runs fine. I removed the Atlantis code, and changed the main extension to .mm, then added some testing code to drawGL. Drawing a simple triangle (using immediate mode) at this point inside drawGL gives me a white triangle, but when I add the code to draw using a vertex buffer object, i just get a black window. Keep Window Inactive In Appearance Even When Activated

Is there a way to keep a window inactive looking, even if it contains focus? I have two forms (A and B). After the user interacts with A, I transfer focus back to B. The result of the focus transfers (the user clicking on the A, then focus being transferred back to B) is that form A blinks from active to inactive. This looks ugly (especially on Vista where A momentarily gets a bigger shadow). How can I make A stay inactive looking so this blinking will not happen?

We call it profile and it can restore the saved state of all the controls/views on the window in my application. I have completed the storing/Restoring part, but the issue is when i am updating the class properties manually, it is not updating the control state Like checkboxs and others which is bind with the class property. Cut and paste out of/ into text fields in a separate window doesn't work

I have a Macintosh Mozilla plugin which puts up a separate window for login information. It seems to work fine, it gets keyboard events like typing and hitting return to hit the default button. HOWEVER, it doesn't seem to get cut and paste events. When I hit Cmd-v, the edit menu flashes, but nothing happnes. Is this a problem with my responder chain? Do I have to specially tell Mozilla that I want these events? or am I likely to have some other problem that I haven't even thought of? thanks.

differences between using wmode="transparent", "opaque", "window" for an embedded object on webpage

when embedding a Flash object with the <object and <embed tag, there is an attribute called "wmode". It seems that most of the time, wmode="transparent" is the same as wmode="opaque" as the Flash doesn't actually have any transparent color so that the bottom HTML element is to be shown. As a result, "opaque" should be faster than "transparent" since it require less processing for transparency, yet most of the time i see Flash object embedded with "transparent" instead of "opaque". "opaque" is needed so that other HTML element won't be covered up by the Flash object. (such as a menu item that pops up an extra sub-menu won't be covered up by the Flash object). By the way, is there formal documentation for wmode's "opaque", "transparent", and "window"? I was only able to find blogs that describe it but not the formal documentation. thanks.

Hi all, I have found that user can associate help with his application using Help Viewer. Users typically launch Help Viewer by choosing the application help item from the Help menu, or by typing a query in the Spotlight For Help text field in the Help menu. I have some different requirement: I want to associate component specific help to my application, means that there will be a small '?' marked icon at bottom left corner of a window and when user clicks it, appropriate help page will open. Sending message from working non-gui thread to the main window

I'm using WinApi. Is SendMessage/PostMessage a good, thread safe method of communicating with the main window? Suppose, the working thread is creating a bitmap, that must be displayed on the screen. The working thread allocates a bitmap, sends a message with a pointer to this bitmap and waits until GUI thread processes it (for example using SendMessage). The working thread shares no data with other threads. Am I running into troubles with such design? Are there any other possibilities that do not introduce thread synchronizing, locking etc. ?
