I'm looking for a very comprehensive guide on how to setup a DHCP IP scope, for a phone and PC network on Microsoft Small Business Server 2008.
Any suggestions?
Gradients, including drop shadows, all show up as solid blocks when I view my document on an Android phone. I tried different PDF compression and compatibility settings in an attempt to flatten and rasterize all the graphics, but it's clearly not working, as the Android viewer still identifies the outlines of transparent shapes instead of the blended pixels.
Is there any way to truly flatten these PDF graphics, so that it doesn't matter whether a PDF viewer supports transparency, while keeping the text as text?
ok i am a complete n00b when it comes to telephony ...
i was wondering we are beginning to play with exchange 2010 in the office ...
How can i connect a telephone line into the server? so we can ring in and get our emails via phone (we have a spare direct line)
I'm going to guess it's not as easy as sticking a 56k modem into the server?
Cheers
When I first got my HTC Hero phone it was very fast. But after a couple of weeks it's become slow. Typically (on any device), I've noticed that this is caused by having too much running at once... Is there a way I can limit the number of applications that are open? I think there's a task manager application in the market, so I'll try this. Does anyone have any further suggestions?
I have an HP Officejet 8600 Pro that has faxing capabilities. However I do not send faxes often and I do not need to pay for a dedicated fax number/line. Is there a way to send and receive faxes using the built in wifi without a fax number from the HP? I have seen online services that allow this from the PC, is that the only way to do this? I am using Windows 7 for my OS.
EDIT I do not use a regular phone line.
We use Group / community systems like http://GoogleGroups.com and http://YahooGroups.com
Is there a similar facility for Text messaging group / cell phone groups?
I've read to jailbreak your iPhone, you download custom firmware to your iPhone. Is this "firmware" a full operating system? Are you replacing the OS that Apple included on the phone with a custom version that doesn't have some of Apple's restrictions?
I have a video phone application running on OMAP 3530 board. The problem is when i connect the camera(pro 9000) through a powered USB hub (Inp:100to240v, OUT:5v,1A) everything works fine when I make a video call. But If i connect the camera directly to the OMAP3530 board and try to make a video call,OMAP board is not sending any video packets captured locally. And also the PIP(Picture In Picture) is disabled.
What's the best terminal editor to suggest to a unix newbie? i.e. not vim or emacs.
There are a few editors, joe, nano, etc. Some have easy to remember commands / keyboard shortcuts, others don't.
I'm looking for an editor that one could talk someone through over the phone with, for remote sysadminning.
I have an app that reads the contacts on my phone but I can't export them. I'd like to use another app to read the contents of the controls on the other app. Can someone recommend a good app for this or recommend another method?
I know I saw something for this last year on lifehacker.com in a collection of diagnostic tools, but I can't find it now.
I need to access some Linux server behind NAT (no ports forwarded), so I need to have something like "phone home" like Teamviewer has. There is no GUI, but somebody can log in through SSH and dictate a password if it is changing (like Teamviewer). SSH (port 22) is enough (I can tunnel ports through SSH if I need). Any suggestions? How safe is it?
Hi, all.
Does anyone know of a device that can be plugged into a telephone handset that will display the value of any telephone keys pressed by someone on the other end?
So, if I'm on the phone and the other party dials "1234", I'd look down at the device plugged into my handset, and see "1234."
Thanks!

Hi,does anybody know a podcast application for the XpressMusic 5800 other than the one that comes with the phone ? The main feature I'm looking for is that it remembers where I stop listening so when I go back to that episode it doesn't start playing it all over again - just like the iPod does.
Is there an emulator that would enable me to test the appearance of an email as it is being read on a smartphone (without specifying the phone type)? What I would like to be able to do, is to send an email to this emulator, and then scroll down through the email using the emulator.
Ive searched online, and any emulators I found are for testing software rather than exploring the visual appearance of email.
I'm using Mac OSX - thanks in advance.
I use Ubuntu 9.10, and the MiniSD card shows as having the space used as if there were files.
Baobab (the disk usage analyzer) shows that the card only has 118 MB used (of the 401 Ubuntu claims there are).
Of course, I already tried the obvious (rebooting the phone, adding and removing files, etc.), but I don't want to format my card, because I still have some files on it, the transfer to my computer is slow, and because I use an old wire it fails often.
How to get the driver and setup info for a phone from a winxp machine which has the config so it can be installed on another xp machine which doesn't ?
update - it's htc fuze/tilt and their support site doesn't work

Hi,
I have an iPhone version 3.1. I want to change the name of the user on the iPhone. I went in to the settings-about-general on the phone, I can see the username at the top left of the screen but there is no option to change username.
How to change the name of the user on the iPhone?
Hello,
I have a phone supporting 2 accounts, but I need 4 accounts. Is it possible to install some sort of SIP server/gateway/proxy (on a linux server), that would register those 4 accounts and I would be able to connect to it as if it was 1 account? (With dialing rules, etc.) 3 of the accounts have incoming numbers.
Thanks.
Tomas.
In Win7 when you connect to a new network you're prompted to set it as a Home, Work, or Public connection. Presumably this influences default security settings.
That's all well and good, except for the part that everytime I USB tether my smartphone Win7 comes up with a new dialogue. I think I'm up to generic connection 25 or something? It's getting ridiculous.
Is there anyway to get Win7 to remember the phone tether as ONE connection only?
What is the correct general term for the network connection on mobile devices that can connect to networks via telecoms links?
Question asked "my device is not connecting to my local web server here".
My response "Are you using Wifi or XXXX to to connect?"
Where XXXX is the network connection through the phone system - e.g. 3g, gprs, etc...
What is the general term encompassing term for XXXX please?
I want something that will:
play mp3s
fit in my pocket
have a 3.5mm audio jack
let me write software for it
cost $50 max
I guess a cheap mobile phone could satisfy that too. Don't care much for brand names.
Any ideas?
I am attempting to use some third party software to send an MMS Message through an attached Sprint mobile phone. The problem is, I cannot find Sprint's specific configuration anywhere. Example configuration for many providers can be found here.
Specifically, I need:
APN (Access Point Name)
WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) Gateway
Provider MMSC (MMS Store and Forward Server)
Potentially a Login/Password if Used
Note: I already have a request into ActiveXperts, no response yet.
This is really annoying. google changed googlemail to gmail today and my android phone does not synch anymore. how can i change my email address (???) in my android so that it works with the switched gmail rather than googlemail?
