  • How can I resolve naming conflict in given precompiled libraries?

    - by asm
I'm linking two different libraries that have functions with exactly same name (it's opengl32.lib and libgles_cm.lib - OpenGL ES emulation under Win32 platform), and I want to be able to specify, which version I'm calling. I'm porting a game to OpenGL ES, and what I want to achieve, is a split-screen rendering, where left side is an OpenGL version, and right side is a ES version. To produce the same result, they will recieve slightly different calls, and I'll be able to visually compare them, effectively finding visual artifacts. It worked perfectly with OpenGL/DirectX at the same window, but now the problem is that both versions imports the functions with the same name, like glDrawArrays, and only one version is imported. Unfortunately, I don't have sources of any of that libraries. Is there a way to... I dont' know, wrap one library into additional namespace before linking (with calls like ES::glDrawArrays), somehow rename some of functions or do anything else? I'm using microsoft compiler now, but if there will be solution with another one (GCC/ICC), I'll switch to it.

  • jquery-ui icons

    - by cf_PhillipSenn
I understand that if I use this: <script src="http://www.google.com/jsapi"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> google.load("jquery", "1"); google.load("jqueryui", "1"); </script> <span class="ui-icon ui-icon-arrowthick-1-n"></span> Then an arrow appears. I don't understand how to wrap the arrow with this: ui-state-default ui-corner-all because themeroller is using list items, and I'm using table head cells. I don't want to use: <th class="ui-state-default ui-corner-all"> because that highlights the entire cell.

  • C# : Redirect console application output : How to flush the output?

    - by user93422
I am spawning external console application and use async output redirect. as shown in this SO post My problem is it seems that the spawned process needs to produce certain amount of output before I get the OutputDataReceived event notification. I want to receive the OutputDataReceived event as soon as possible. I have a bare-bones redirecting application, and here are some observations: 1. When I call a simple 'while(true) print("X");' console application (C#) I receive output event immediately. 2. When I call a 3d party app I am trying to wrap from the command line I see the line-by-line output. 3. When I call that 3d party app from my bare-bone wrapper (see 1) - the output comes in chunks (about one page size). What happens inside that app? FYI: The app in question is a "USBee DX Data Exctarctor (Async bus) v1.0".

  • Is this possible with Sql 2005 CTE?

    - by aenima1982
I have been working on a query that will return a suggested start date for a manufacturing line based on due date and the number of minutes needed to complete the task. There is a calendar table(LINE_ID, CALENDAR_DATE, SCHEDULED_MINUTES) that displays per manufacturing line, the number of minutes scheduled for that day. Example: (Usually 3 shifts worth of time scheduled per day, no weekends but can vary) 1, 06/8/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 1, 06/7/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 1, 06/6/2010 00:00:00.000, 0 1, 06/5/2010 00:00:00.000, 0 1, 06/4/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 In order to get the suggested start date, I need to start with the due date and iterate downward through the days until i have accumulated enough time to complete the task. My Question can something like this be done with CTE, or is this something that should be handled by a cursor. Or... am i just going about this the wrong way completely??

  • How do would you use jQuery's .each() to apply the same script to each element with the same class?

    - by derekmx271
I have a with multiple cart items listed. I have a "x-men logo" looking remove button that I want to fade-in next to the item when the customer hovers over a cart item. I had no issue getting this to work when there is only one item in the list. However, when there are multiple items in the cart, the jQuery operates funky. It still does the fade in, but only when I hover over the last item in the cart, and of course all of the "remove X" images become visible. Argh... So i searched around and think the .each() is my savior. I have been trying to get it to work, with no luck. My script just breaks when I attempt to implement it. Anyone have any pointers on this *.each() thing and how to implement it into my script?* I have tried putting a cartItem.each(function(){ around the mouseEnter/mouseLeave events (and used some $(this) selectors to make it "make sense") and that didn't do anything. Tried some other things as well with no luck... Here is the HTML (Sorry, there's a lot): <ul id="head-cart-items"> <!-- Item #1 --> <li> <!-- Item #1 Wrap --> <div class="head-cart-item"> <div class="head-cart-img" style='background-image:url("/viewimageresize.asp?mh=50&amp;mw=50&amp;p=AFE&amp;f=Air_Intakes_Magnum_FORCE_Stage-1_PRO_5R")'> </div> <div class="head-cart-desc"> <h3> <a href="/partdetails/AFE/Intakes/Air_Intakes/Magnum_FORCE_Stage-1_PRO_5R/19029">AFE Magnum FORCE Stage-1 PRO 5R Air Intakes</a> </h3> <span class="head-cart-qty">Qty: 1</span> <span class="head-cart-price">$195.00</span> <!-- Here is my Remove-X... --> <a class="remove-x" href='/cart//7806887'> <img src="/images/misc/remove-x.png"> </a> </div> </div> </li> <!-- Item #2 --> <li> <!-- Item #2 Wrap --> <div class="head-cart-item"> <div class="head-cart-img" style='background-image:url("/viewimageresize.asp?mh=50&amp;mw=50&amp;p=Exedy&amp;f=Clutch_Kits_Carbon-R")'> </div> <div class="head-cart-desc"> <h3> <a href="/partdetails/Exedy/Clutch/Clutch_Kits/Carbon-R/19684">Exedy Carbon-R Clutch Kits</a> </h3> <span class="head-cart-qty">Qty: 1</span> <span class="head-cart-price">$2,880.00</span> <!-- Here is my other Remove-X... --> <a class="remove-x" href='/cart//7806888'> <img src="/images/misc/remove-x.png"> </a> </div> </div> </li> </ul> And here is the jQuery... $(document).ready(function(){ var removeX = $(".remove-x"); var cartItem = $(".head-cart-item"); // Start with an invisible X removeX.fadeTo(0,0); // When hovering over Cart Item cartItem.mouseenter(function(){ // Fade the X to 100% removeX.fadeTo("normal",1); // On mouseout, fade it back to 0% $(this).mouseleave(function(){ removeX.fadeTo("fast",0); }); }); }); If you didn't see it, here is the "X" I am trying to fade... <!-- Here is my Remove-X... --> <a class="remove-x" href='/cart//7806887'> <img src="/images/misc/remove-x.png"> </a> Thanks for the help in advance. • improve my jquery validation plugin code

    - by Jared
Hi All Just hoping soemone can help me to write better code than I can come up with on my own. I am using the jquery validation plugin. I have some fields that are mandatory ONLY if certain options are chosen. The below code works fine. But the thing is, is that that my list of 'OR's is much longer than I've put here. and it needs to be applied not just to 'directorsName' but a whole long list of inputs, selects etc. My question is.. how can I wrap up the code contained inside the RETURN? (so I dont have to keep repeating my 'OR's. I'm guessign I need a function but I'm unsure of the syntax) $("#myForm").validate({ rules: { directorsName : { required: function(element) { return ( $('#account_for').val() == "Joint" || $('#directors_number').val() == "2" || $('#directors_number').val() == "3" ); } } } }); Thanks in advance

  • Server-side access to Client Browser's Latitude/Longitude using Django.

    - by ZenGyro
Hello, So i am writing a little app that compares a user's position against a database on web-based server written using Django and performs some functions with it. Accessing the browser's geolocation data (in supported browsers ) is fairly trivial using JavaScript. But what is the best way to allow the Django server to access the longitude and latitude variables? Is it best to wrap them up as a JSON object and send to the server via POST? Or is there some easier (Geo)Django-based way to access the Navigator.geolocation browser object. Please forgive a newbie a question like this, but my Google-Fuing only seems to find ways to insert variables into JavaScript via template tag, whereas I need it to work the other way! Any advice or code snippets greatly appreciated. Feel free to talk to me like I am an idiot.

  • Is INT the correct datatype for ABS(CHECKSUM(NEWID()))?

    - by Chad Sellers
I'm in the process of creating unique customers ID's that is an alternative Id for external use. In the process of adding a new column "cust_uid" with datatype INT for my unique ID's, When I do an INSERT into this new column: Insert Into Customers(cust_uid) Select ABS(CHECKSUM(NEWID())) I get a error: Could not create an acceptable cursor. OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "SHQ2IIS1" returned message "Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done. I've check all data types on both tables and the only things that has changed is the new column in both tables. The update is being done on one Big @$$ table...and for reasons above my pay grade, we would like to have new uid's that are different form the one's that we currently have "so users don't know how many accounts we actually have." Is INT the correct datatype for ABS(CHECKSUM(NEWID())) ?

  • Is there a way to cut and paste or clone CSS from one element to another using JQuery?

    - by Jared Christensen
I have a situation where I'm wrapping an image with a span and I want to remove all the CSS from the image and apply it to the span. Is there a way to do this with JQuery? JQuery: $(img).wrap('<span />'); Style Sheet: img { border: 5px solid red; padding: 10px; … } I would like do to do this with out editing the HTML or CSS. For example adding a class to the image would not work very well in my situation. I need a way to truly remove the CSS from one element and place it on another.

  • Is there an easy way in Python to wait until certain condition is true?

    - by Checkers
I need to wait in a script until a certain number of conditions become true? I know I can roll my own eventing using condition variables and friends, but I don't want to go through all the trouble of implementing it, since some object property changes come from external thread in a wrapped C++ library (Boost.Python), so I can't just hijack __setattr__ in a class and put a condition variable there, which leaves me with either trying to create and signal a Python condition variable from C++, or wrap a native one and wait on it in Python, both of which sound fiddly, needlessly complicated and boring. Is there an easier way to do it, barring continuous polling of the condition? Ideally it would be along the lines of res = wait_until(lambda: some_predicate, timeout) if (not res): print 'timed out'

  • Removing groups of similar records in MySQL query

    - by user1182155
I'm trying to wrap my head around this... (it may be simple, been a long day!) I have a database with sometimes multiple similar records... ie. Apples 2008-09-03 Apples 2012-01-01 Apples 2013-10-24 Oranges 2012-01-04 What I need to do is do a query that will show only records that haven't been updated today... So in this case, since Apples has an entry that was updated today, none of the records for the Apples should appear in the results. Oranges should be the only record it returns. I have a query similar to this... SELECT fruit FROM fruitnames where date < CURDATE() Which works to remove the record that was updated today... But it keeps the other records for Apples (obviously)... How would I remove those results as well?

  • Send JSON object via GET and POST without having to wrapping it in another object literal, and manag

    - by Kucebe
My site does some short ajax call in JSON format, using jQuery. At client-side i'd like to send object just passing it in ajax function, without being forced to wrap it in an object literal like this: {'person' : person}. For the same reasons, at server-side i'd like to manage objects without the binding of $_GET['person'] or $_POST['person']. For example: var person = { 'name' : 'John', 'lastName' : 'Doe', 'age' : 32, 'married' : true } sendAjaxRequest(person); in php, using: $person = json_decode(file_get_contents("php://input")); i can get easily the object, but only with POST format, not in GET. Any suggestions?

  • Figuring out what makes a C++ class abstract in VS2008

    - by suszterpatt
I'm using VS2008 to build a plain old C++ program (not C++/CLI). I have an abstract base class and a non-abstract derived class, and building this: Base* obj; obj = new Derived(); fails with the error "'Derived': cannot instantiate abstract class". (It may be worth noting, however, that if I hover over Base with the cursor, VS will pop up a tooltip saying "class Base abstract", but hovering over Derived will only say "class Derived" (no "abstract")). The definitions of these classes are fairly large and I'd like to avoid manually checking if each method has been overridden. Can VS do this for me somehow? Any general tips on pinpointing the exact parts of the class' definition that make it abstract?

  • Oracle PL/SQL: Dump query result into file

    - by CC
Hi. I'm working on a pl sql stored procedure. What I need is to do a select, use a cursor and for every record build a string using values. At the end I need to write this into a file. I try to use dbms_output.put_line("toto") but the buffer size is to small because I have about 14 millions lines. I call my procedure from a unix ksh. I'm thinking at something like using "spool on" (on the ksh side) to dump the result of my procedure, but I don' know how to do it (if this is possible) Anyone has any idea? Thank alot. C.C.

Thanks so much!

  • Online Game programming in Google App Engine: AI

    - by Hortinstein
I am currently in the planning stages of a game for google app engine, but cannot wrap my head around how I am going to handle AI. I intend to have persistant NPCs that will move about the map, but short of writing a program that generates the same XML requests I use to control player actions, than run it on another server I am stuck on how to do it. I have looked at the Task Queue feature, but due to long running processes not being an option on the App engine, I am a little stuck. I intend to run multiple server instances with 200+ persistant NPC entities that I will need to update. Most action is slowly roaming around based on player movements/concentrations, and attacking close range players(you can probably guess the type of game im developing)

  • What is a practical use for a closure in JavaScript?

    - by alex
I'm trying my hardest to wrap my head around JavaScript's closures. I get that by returning an inner function, it will have access to any variable defined in it's immediate parent. Where would this be useful to me? Perhaps I haven't quite got my head around it yet. Most of the examples I have seen online don't provide any real world code, just vague examples. Can someone show me a real world use of a closure? Is this one, for example? var warnUser = function (msg) { var calledCount = 0; return function() { calledCount++; alert(msg + '\nYou have been warned ' + calledCount + ' times.'); }; }; var warnForTamper = warnUser('You can not tamper with our HTML.'); warnForTamper(); warnForTamper(); Thanks

  • Using Linq, how to separate a list in to grouped objects by name?

    - by Dr. Zim
I have a table where a record looks like this varchar(255) Name varchar(255) Text varchar(255) Value Name is the DDL name, Text is what is displayed, and Value is returned upon selection. There are between one and twenty options for each Name. Without iterating though each option like a cursor, is there any way to pull out a list of objects, one for each unique DDL Name, using Linq and C#? A sample of the data: Beds '4 (10)' 4 Beds '5 (1)' 5 Beds '7 (1)' 7 Baths 'NA (13)' NULL Baths '0 (1)' 0 Baths '1 (13)' 1 I was thinking about doing an outer select to get the unique Names, then an inner select to get the list of options for it, then return the set as a List of a set of Lists.

However I would really like to have a form inside an Iframe that when the user clicks submit saves the file to local application storage directory. Right now I am able to do this and save the file with no problems when I just access the HTML page not inside an Iframe. However if I wrap the page in an iframe and hit submit the file does not save. Any code examples would be very much appreciated.
