  • Automating Visual Studio 2010 from a console app

    - by JoelFan
    I am trying to run the following code (which I got from here). The code just creates a new "Output" pane in Visual Studio and writes a few lines to it. Public Sub WriteToMyNewPane() Dim win As Window = _ DTE.Windows.Item(EnvDTE.Constants.vsWindowKindOutput) Dim ow As OutputWindow = win.Object Dim owPane As OutputWindowPane Dim cnt As Integer = ow.OutputWindowPanes.Count owPane = ow.OutputWindowPanes.Add("My New Output Pane") owPane.Activate() owPane.OutputString("My text1" & vbCrLf) owPane.OutputString("My text2" & vbCrLf) owPane.OutputString("My text3" & vbCrLf) End Sub Instead of running it as a Macro, I want to run it as an independent console application that connects to a currently running instance of Visual Studio 2010. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to set the value of DTE. I think I may need to call GetActiveObject, but I'm not sure how. Any pointers?

  • Pascal error with array

    - by Donator
    program s;       type info = record                    name, surname: string;                    min, sec: integer;       end;       arrays = array[2..50] of info;       var A: arrays; begin       A[1].name := 'name'; end. What is wrong with that? It gives me range check error and I have no idea what is that.

  • Howto extract text from a file where date -time is the index

    - by Soham
    I have got around 800 files of maximum 55KB-100KB each where the data is in this format Date/Time/Float1/Float2/Float3/Float4/Integer Date is in DD/MM/YYYY format and Time is in the format of HH:MM Here the date ranges from say 1st May to 1June and each day, the Time varies from 09:00 to 15:30. I want to run a program so that, for each file, it extracts the data pertaining to a particular given date and writes to a file. I will not face any problem in writing into directory operations. I am trying to get around, to form a to do a search and extract operation. I dont know, how to do it, would like to have some idea. Thanks Soham

  • Querying a Single Column with LINQ

    - by Hossein Margani
    Hi Every one! I want to fetch array of values of a single column in a table, for example, I have a table named Customer(ID,Name), and want to fetch ids of all customers. my query in LINQ is: var ids = db.Customers.Select(c=>c.ID).ToList(); The answer of this query is correct, but I ran SQL Server Profiler, and saw the query which was like this: SELECT [t0].[ID], [t0].[Name] FROM [dbo].[Customer] AS [t0] I understood that LINQ selects all columns and then creates the integer array of ID fields. How can I write a LINQ query which generates this query in SQL Server: SELECT [t0].[ID] FROM [dbo].[Customer] AS [t0] Thank you.

  • StackOverflowError being caused by a TableModelListener

    - by me_here
    I'm not sure why this is recursing. jTable1.getModel().addTableModelListener(new TableModelListener() { public void tableChanged(TableModelEvent evt) { int sum = 0; int i=0; for (i =0 ; i<2; i++){ sum = sum + Integer.parseInt(jTable1.getValueAt(0, i).toString()); } jTable1.setValueAt(sum, 0, 2); } }); The exception is: (it keeps repeating) Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.StackOverflowError at javax.swing.table.DefaultTableColumnModel.getColumn(DefaultTableColumnModel.java:277) at javax.swing.JTable.convertColumnIndexToModel(JTable.java:2553) at javax.swing.JTable.getValueAt(JTable.java:2695) at testprogram.guitest.TestTableModel$1.tableChanged(TestTableModel.java:63) at javax.swing.table.AbstractTableModel.fireTableChanged(AbstractTableModel.java:280) at javax.swing.table.AbstractTableModel.fireTableCellUpdated(AbstractTableModel.java:259) at javax.swing.table.DefaultTableModel.setValueAt(DefaultTableModel.java:650) at javax.swing.JTable.setValueAt(JTable.java:2719) Any help appreciated.

  • Unary NOT/Integersize of the architecture

  • HQL query for entity with max value

    - by Rob
    I have a Hibernate entity that looks like this (accessors ommitted for brevity): @Entity @Table(name="FeatureList_Version") @SecondaryTable(name="FeatureList", pkJoinColumns=@PrimaryKeyJoinColumn(name="FeatureList_Key")) public class FeatureList implements Serializable { @Id @Column(name="FeatureList_Version_Key") private String key; @Column(name="Name",table="FeatureList") private String name; @Column(name="VERSION") private Integer version; } I want to craft an HQL query that retrieves the most up to date version of a FeatureList. The following query sort of works: Select f.name, max(f.version) from FeatureList f group by f.name The trouble is that won't populate the key field, which I need to contain the key of the record with the highest version number for the given FeatureList. If I add f.key in the select it won't work because it's not in the group by or an aggregate and if I put it in the group by the whole thing stops working and it just gives me every version as a separate entity. So, can anybody help?

  • Concise SSE and MMX instruction reference with latencies and throughput

    - by Joe
    I am trying to optimize some arithmetic by using the MMX and SSE instruction sets with inline assembly. However, I have been unable to find good references for the timings and usages of these enhanced instruction sets. Could you please help me find references that contain information about the throughput, latency, operands, and perhaps short descriptions of the instructions? So far, I have found: Intel Instruction References http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/manual/253666.pdf http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/manual/253667.pdf Intel Optimization Guide http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/manual/248966.pdf Timings of Integer Operations http://gmplib.org/~tege/x86-timing.pdf

  • Modifying records in my migration throws an authlogic error

    - by nfm
    I'm adding some columns to one of my database tables, and then populating those columns: def self.up add_column :contacts, :business_id, :integer add_column :contacts, :business_type, :string Contact.reset_column_information Contact.all.each do |contact| contact.update_attributes(:business_id => contact.client_id, :business_type => 'Client') end remove_column :contacts, :client_id end The line contact.update_attributes is causing the following Authlogic error: You must activate the Authlogic::Session::Base.controller with a controller object before creating objects I have no idea what is going on here - I'm not using a controller method to modify each row in the table. Nor am I creating new objects. The error doesn't occur if the contacts table is empty. I've had a google and it seems like this error can occur when you run your controller tests, and is fixed by adding before_filter :activate_authlogic to them, but this doesn't seem relevant in my case. Any ideas? I'm stumped.

  • How to transform a vector<int> into a string?

    - by Legend
    I am trying to pass a value from C++ to TCL. As I cannot pass pointers without the use of some complicated modules, I was thinking of converting a vector to a char array and then passing this as a null terminated string (which is relatively easy). I have a vector as follows: 12, 32, 42, 84 which I want to convert into something like: "12 32 42 48" The approach I am thinking of is to use an iterator to iterate through the vector and then convert each integer into its string representation and then add it into a char array (which is dynamically created initially by passing the size of the vector). Is this the right way or is there a function that already does this?

  • How can this verbose, unpythonic routine be improved?

    - by fmark
    Is there a more pythonic way of doing this? I am trying to find the eight neighbours of an integer coordinate lying within an extent. I am interested in reducing its verbosity without sacrificing execution speed. def fringe8((px, py), (x1, y1, x2, xy)): f = [(px - 1, py - 1), (px - 1, py), (px - 1, py + 1), (px, py - 1), (px, py + 1), (px + 1, py - 1), (px + 1, py), (px + 1, py + 1)] f_inrange = [] for fx, fy in f: if fx < x1: continue if fx >= x2: continue if fy < y1: continue if fy >= y2: continue f_inrange.append((fx, fy)) return f_inrange

  • Is strftime (hour) showing wrong time?

    - by ander163
    I'm using this line to get the beginning time of the first day of the month. t = Time.now.to_date.beginning_of_month.beginning_of_day When i display this using t.strftime("%A %b %e @ %l:%m %p") it shows: Monday Feb 1 @ 12:02 AM The hour is always 12 (instead of 00), and more wierd the minute changes to match the month in integers. For the February date, it shows 12:02 AM I use .prior_month and .next_month on the variable to move forward or backwards in time. So when I move to June, this would display as Tuesday June 1 @ 12:06 AM But when I just show the value of "t" using a straight t.to_s, I get this time of 00:00:00, which is what I expect: Mon Feb 01 00:00:00 -0700 2010 A similar error occurs using end_of_day, but the hour is always 11 PM and the minute is the same integer value that matches the month in integers, i.e the time is 11:06 PM in June, 11:02 PM in February. Qurky? Admittedly a noob to Rails. Thanks for any comments or explanations.

  • Efficient way to create/unpack large bitfields in C?

    - by drhorrible
    I have one microcontroller sampling from a lot of ADC's, and sending the measurements over a radio at a very low bitrate, and bandwidth is becoming an issue. Right now, each ADC only give us 10 bits of data, and its being stored in a 16-bit integer. Is there an easy way to pack them in a deterministic way so that the first measurement is at bit 0, second at bit 10, third at bit 20, etc? To make matters worse, the microcontroller is little endian, and I have no control over the endianness of the computer on the other side.

  • Template metaprogram converting type to unique number

    - by daramarak
    I just started playing with metaprogramming and I am working on different tasks just to explore the domain. One of these was to generate a unique integer and map it to type, like below: int myInt = TypeInt<AClass>::value; I want to know if this is at all possible, and in that case how. Because although I have learned much about exploring this subject I still have failed to come up with an answer. (P.S. A yes/no answer is much more gratifying than a c++ solution that doesn't use metaprogramming, as this is the domain that I am exploring)

  • Algorithm: How to tell if an array is a permutation in O(n)?

    - by Iulian Serbanoiu
    Hello, Input: A read-only array of N elements containing integer values from 1 to N. And a memory zone of a fixed size (10, 100, 1000 etc - not depending on N). How to tell in O(n) if the array represents a permutation? --What I achieved so far:-- I use the limited memory area to store the sum and the product of the array. I compare the sum with N*(N+1)/2 and the product with N! I know that if condition (2) is true I might have a permutation. I'm wondering if there's a way to prove that condition (2) is sufficient to tell if I have a permutation. So far I haven't figured this out ... Thanks, Iulian

  • ASP.Net partially ignoring my Custom error section in web.config

    - by weevie
    Here's my web.config customErrors section (you'll notice I've switched the mode to 'On' so I can see the redirect on my localhost): <customErrors defaultRedirect="~/Application/ServerError.aspx" mode="On" redirectMode="ResponseRewrite"> <error statusCode="403" redirect="~/Secure/AccessDenied.aspx" /> </customErrors> and here's the code that throws: Catch adEx As AccessDeniedException Throw New HttpException(DirectCast(HttpStatusCode.Forbidden, Integer), adEx.Message) End Try and here's what I end up with: Which is not my pretty AccessDenied.aspx page but it is a forbidden error page so at least I know my throw is working. I've removed the entry for 403 in IIS (7.0) as a desperate last attempt and unsuprisingly that made no difference. I've run out of ideas now so any suggestions will be gratefully appreciated!

  • Reported error code considered SQL Injection?

    - by inquam
    SQL injection that actually runs a SQL command is one thing. But injecting data that doesn't actually run a harmful query but that might tell you something valuable about the database, is that considered SQL injection? Or is it just used as part to construct a valid SQL injection? An example could be set rs = conn.execute("select headline from pressReleases where categoryID = " & cdbl(request("id")) ) Passing this a string that could not be turned into a numeric value would cause Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d' Type mismatch: 'cdbl' which would tell you that the column in question only accepts numeric data and is thus probably of type integer or similar. I seem to find this in a lot of pages discussing SQL injection, but don't really get an answer if this in itself is considered SQL injection. The reason for my question is that I have a scanning tool that report a SQL injection vulnerability and reports a VBScript runtime error '800a000d' as the reason for the finding.

  • Delphi disable warnings fails

    - by Alan Clark
    I have the following code in a Delphi 2007 application: function TBaseCriteriaObject.RecursiveCount( ObjType: TBaseCriteriaObjectClass): integer; var CurObj: TBaseCriteriaObject; begin result := 0; {$WARNINGS OFF} for CurObj in RecursiveChildren(ObjType) do Inc(Result); {$WARNINGS ON} end; Which produces this warning: [DCC Warning] BaseCriteriaObject.pas(255): H2077 Value assigned to 'CurObj' never used I understand the warning but don't want to change the code, so how do I get rid of the warning because {$WARNINGS OFF} does not seem to work in this case?

  • Ok to use VirtualProtect to change resource in Delphi?

    - by user257188
    I'm working on a simple localization effort in D2010. I'm handling all strings on forms because ETM seems like overkill for my needs, as did other 3rd party tools... (although I'm not so sure at this point!) Is the code below for changing the Const.pas strings considered safe to change the button labels on standard message boxes? procedure HookResourceString(rs: PResStringRec; newStr: PChar); var oldprotect: DWORD; begin VirtualProtect(rs, SizeOf(rs^), PAGE_EXECUTE_READWRITE, @oldProtect); rs^.Identifier := Integer(newStr); VirtualProtect(rs, SizeOf(rs^), oldProtect, @oldProtect); end; const NewOK: PChar = 'New Ok'; NewCancel: PChar = 'New Cancel'; Procedure TForm.FormCreate; begin HookResourceString(@SMsgDlgOK, NewOK); HookResourceString(@SMsgDlgCancel, NewCancel); end;

  • Read only particular fields from CSV File in vb.net

    - by fireBand
    Hi, I have this code to read a CVS file. It reads each line, devides each line by delimiter ',' and stored the field values in array 'strline()' . How do I extract only required fields from the CSV file? For example if I have a CSV File like Type,Group,No,Sequence No,Row No,Date (newline) 0,Admin,3,345678,1,26052010 (newline) 1,Staff,5,78654,3,26052010 I Need only the value of columns Group,Sequence No and date. Thanks in advance for any ideas. Dim myStream As StreamReader = Nothing ' Hold the Parsed Data Dim strlines() As String Dim strline() As String Try myStream = File.OpenText(OpenFile.FileName) If (myStream IsNot Nothing) Then ' Hold the amount of lines already read in a 'counter-variable' Dim placeholder As Integer = 0 strlines = myStream.ReadToEnd().Split(Environment.NewLine) Do While strlines.Length <> -1 ' Is -1 when no data exists on the next line of the CSV file strline = strlines(placeholder).Split(",") placeholder += 1 Loop End If Catch ex As Exception LogErrorException(ex) Finally If (myStream IsNot Nothing) Then myStream.Close() End If End Try

  • Strategies for Error Handling in .NET Web Services

    - by Jarrod
    I have a fairly substantial library of web services built in .NET that I use as a data model for our company web sites. In most .NET applications I use the Global ASAX file for profiling, logging, and creating bug reports for all exceptions thrown by the application. Global ASAX isn't available for web services so I'm curious as to what other strategies people have come up with to work around this limitation. Currently I just do something along these lines: <WebMethod()> _ Public Function MyServiceMethod(ByVal code As Integer) As String Try Return processCode(code) Catch ex As Exception CustomExHandler(ex) 'call a custom function every time to log exceptions Return errorObject End Try End Function Anybody have a better way of doing things besides calling a function inside the Catch?

  • JavaScript distributed computing project

    - by Ben L.
    I made a website that does absolutely nothing, and I've proven to myself that people like to stay there - I've already logged 11+ hours worth of cumulative time on the page. My question is whether it would be possible (or practical) to use the website as a distributed computing site. My first impulse was to find out if there were any JavaScript distributed computing projects already active, so that I could put a piece of code on the page and be done. Unfortunately, all I could find was a big list of websites that thought it might be a cool idea. I'm thinking that I might want to start with something like integer factorization - in this case, RSA numbers. It would be easy for the server to check if an answer was correct (simply test for modulus equals zero), and also easy to implement. Is my idea feasible? Is there already a project out there that I can use?

  • Using Delphi or FFMpeg to create a movie from image sequence

    - by Hein du Plessis
    Hi all My Delphi app has created a squence called frame_001.png to frame_100.png. I need that to be compiled into a movie clip. I think perhaps the easiest is to call ffmpeg from the command line, according to their documentation: For creating a video from many images: ffmpeg -f image2 -i foo-%03d.jpeg -r 12 -s WxH foo.avi The syntax foo-%03d.jpeg specifies to use a decimal number composed of three digits padded with zeroes to express the sequence number. It is the same syntax supported by the C printf function, but only formats accepting a normal integer are suitable. From: http://ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg-doc.html#SEC5 However my files are (lossless) png format, so I have to convert using imagemagick first. My command line is now: ffmpeg.exe -f image2 -i c:\temp\wentelreader\frame_%05d.jpg -r 12 foo.avi But then I get the error: [image2 @ 0x133a7d0]Could not find codec parameters (Video: mjpeg) c:\temp\wentelreader\Frame_C:\VID2EVA\Tools\Mencoder\wentel.bat5d.jpg: could not find codec parameters What am I doing wrong? Alternatively can this be done easily with Delphi?

  • Implements an Undo/Redo in MVC

    - by bnabilos
    Hello, I have a Java application and I want to implement an Undo/Redo option. the value that I want to stock and that I want to be able to recover is an integer. My Class Model implements the interface StateEditable and I have to redefine the 2 functions restoreState(Hashtable<?, ?> state) and storeState(Hashtable<Object, Object> state) but I don't know what to put on them. It will be really great if somebody can help me to do that. These are the first lines of my Model class, the value that I want to do an undo/redo on it is value public class Model extends Observable implements StateEditable { private int value = 5; private UndoManager undoRedo = new UndoManager(); final UndoableEditListener editListener = new UndoableEditListener() { public void undoableEditHappened(UndoableEditEvent evt) { undoRedo.addEdit(evt.getEdit()); } }; @Override public void restoreState(Hashtable<?, ?> state) { } @Override public void storeState(Hashtable<Object, Object> state) { } }
