    Came across an SDK3.0 deprecation that I am having a bit of trouble tryinig to figure out. If my declaration of @property (nonatomic, retain) UIImage *rowImage; does not work, nor @property (nonatomic, readonly, retain) UIImage *rowImage; and I @synthesize rowImage; Do I need to write my own setter because @synthesize will not properly handle this? cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero reuseIdentifier:RootViewControllerCell] autorelease]; // Dpericated in SDK 3.0 // //cell.text = controller.title; //cell.image = controller.rowImage; // Using what the documentation says to use Error=== cell.textLabel = controller.title; Error=== cell.imageView = controller.rowImage; Error: Object cannot be set - Either readonly property or no setter found. I created 3 tables posts, tags and posts_tags. I wrote following code to debug Posts. $this->Post->bindModel(array( 'hasOne' => array( 'PostsTag', 'FilterTag' => array( 'className' => 'Tag', 'foreignKey' => false, 'conditions' => array('FilterTag.id = PostsTag.tag_id') )))); $output=$this->Post->find('all', array( 'fields' => array('Post.*') )); debug($output); I was expecting output something like below. Array ( 0 => Array { [Post] => Array ( [id] => 1 [title] => test post 1 ) [Tag] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [id] => 1 [name] => php ) [1] => Array ( [id] => 2 [name] => javascript ) [2] => Array ( [id] => 3 [name] => xml ) ) } But my output do not have Tags at all. Here is what I got. Array ( [0] => Array ( [Post] => Array ( [id] => 1 [title] => test post1 ) ) [1] => Array ( [Post] => Array ( [id] => 2 [title] => test post2 ) ) ) How do I get associated tags along with the post. I know I am missing something, but unable to figure out. Any help would be highly appreciated.

  • ASP.Net / MySQL : Translating content into several languages

    I have an ASP.Net website which uses a MySQL database for the back end. The website is an English e-commerce system, and we are looking at the possibility of translating it into about five other languages (French, Spanish etc). We will be getting human translators to perform the translation - we've looked at automated services but these aren't good enough. The static text on the site (e.g. headings, buttons etc) can easily be served up in multiple languages via .Net's built in localization features (resx files etc). The thing that I'm not so sure about it how best to store and retrieve the multi-language content in the database. For example, there is a products table that includes these fields... productId (int) categoryId (int) title (varchar) summary (varchar) description (text) features (text) The title, summary, description and features text would need to be available in all the different languages. Here are the two options that I've come up with... Create additional field for each language For example we could have titleEn, titleFr, titleEs etc for all the languages, and repeat this for all text columns. We would then adapt our code to use the appropriate field depending on the language selected. This feels a bit hacky, and also would lead to some very large tables. Also, if we wanted to add additional languages in the future it would be time consuming to add even more columns. Use a lookup table We could create a new table with the following format... textId | languageId | content ------------------------------- 10 | EN | Car 10 | FR | Voiture 10 | ES | Coche 11 | EN | Bike 11 | FR | Vélo We'd then adapt our products table to reference the appropriate textId for the title, summary, description and features instead of having the text stored in the product table. This seems much more elegant, but I can't think of a simple way of getting this data out of the database and onto the page without using complex SQL statements. Of course adding new languages in the future would be very simple compared to the previous option. I'd be very grateful for any suggestions about the best way to achieve this! Is there any "best practice" guidance out there? Has anyone done this before?

  • Fully custom validation error message with Rails

    Using Rails I'm trying to get an error message like "The song field can't be empty" on save. Doing the following: validates_presence_of :song_rep_xyz, :message => "can't be empty" ... only displays "Song Rep XYW can't be empty", which is not good because the title of the field is not user friendly. How can I change the title of the field itself ? I could change the actual name of the field in the database, but I have multiple "song" fields and I do need to have specific field names. I don't want to hack around rails' validation process and I feel there should be a way of fixing that.

  • Understanding the passing of data/life of a script in web development/CodeIgniter

    I hope I worded the title accurately enough but I typically use Java and don't have much experience in Web Development/PHP/CodeIgniter. I have a difficult time understanding the life cycle of a script as I found out trying to implement a certain feature to a website I am developing (as a means of learning how to). I'll first describe the feature I tried implementing and then the problem I ran into that made me question my fundamental understanding of how scripts work since I'm used to typical OOP. Ok so here goes... I have a webpage that has 2 basic tasks a user can do, create and delete an entry. What I attempted to implement was a way to time a user how long it takes them to complete a certain task. The way I did this was have a homepage where there would be a list of tasks a user to choose from (in this case 2, create and delete). A user would click a task which would link to the 'true' homepage where the user then would be expected to complete the task. Now there's no error in the code but it doesn't do what I expect of it and the reason I assume why is because that each time a function of the script is called via a new page it is NOT the same instance of the script called previously so any previously created objects are no longer there. This confuses me and leaves me quite unsure of how to implement this gracefully. Some ways I would guess of how to do this is by passing the necessary data through the URL or have data saved in a database and retrieve it later to compare the times. What would be a recommended way to do, not just this, but anything that needs previously created data? Also, am I correct to think that a script is only 'alive' for one webpage at a time? Thanks!

  • Why is url not registered?(Drupal 6.x)

    I'm using hook_menu to register new url so that accessing this url would return some data to ajax function. As title suggested, this url is not registered. How do I know that? I've tried typing this in address bar but, drupal, return main template only rather than the tests string that I created. I'm positive that my module is working for php issues error if I intentionally write wrong syntax. And, yes, I clear cache whenever I make changes.     Hi guys I always got this error from my site and it keeps bugging me.I've been trying to figure out the cause of this error but I can't really figure it out.     I have a Repository Class with the following method... public T Single<T>(Predicate<T> expression) { using (var list = (Models.Collectable<T>)System.Xml.Serializer.Deserialize(typeof(Models.Collectable<T>), FileName)) { return list.Find(expression); } } Where Collectable is defined.. [Serializable] public class Collectable<T> : List<T>, IDisposable { public Collectable() { } public void Dispose() { } } And an Item that uses it is defined.. [Serializable] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlRoot("Titles")] public partial class Titles : Collectable<Title> { } The problem is when I call the method, it expects "Collectable" to be the XmlRoot, but the XmlRoot is "Titles" (all of object Title). I have several classes that are collected in .xml files like this, but it seems pointless to rewrite the basic methods for loading each up when the generic accessors do it - but how can I enforce the proper root name for each file without hard coding methods for each one? The [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlRoot] seems to be ignored.

    I'm designing a product database where products can have very different attributes depending on their type, but attributes are fixed for each type and types are not manageable at all. E.g.: magazine: title, issue_number, pages, copies, close_date, release_date web_site: name, bandwidth, hits, date_from, date_to I want to use InnoDB and enforce database integrity as much as the engine allows. What's the recommended way to handle this? In input XML I have a node with following value - which is actually a XML string if we replace &lt; with < (less than) for e.g. &lt;Paragraph&gt;&lt;Title&gt;&lt;!CDATA[Pour les nuits du 2012-10-01 - 2012-10-30]]&gt;&lt;/Title&gt;&lt;Text&gt;&lt;![CDATA[TAXES INCLUSES.]]&gt;&lt;/Text&gt;&lt;/Paragraph&gt; I want to have the content of otherInfo as a XML node in output XML. if I do , I do not get it as a XML node - it is output just as text. How can I make XSL output the content of otherInfo as XML node ?

  • Nothing displaying for Drupal main menu

    I'm trying to output the main_menu in to a custom theme on the page.tpl.php template however nothing is displaying when I add <?php print theme("links", $main_menu) ?> However when I do a var_dump on the $main_menu I get array(2) { ["menu-218"]=> array(2) { ["href"]=> string(7) "" ["title"]=> string(4) "Home" } ["menu-335"]=> array(2) { ["href"]=> string(6) "node/1" ["title"]=> string(4) "Home" } } What might I be doing wrong? I'm new to Drupal so be kind please :D
