  • Asp.net mvc small amount data storage

    Hi there, I am writing some learning tests (i.e. what's the answer for...; choose correct options...). Now my question is, how should I store them. SQL db seems quite an overkill, but I really don't know what would be the best choice if I wanted to select random subset of questions etc. Perhaps some simple xml files? Thanks for advice.

  • Vim error E492: Not an editor command: dd

    I started learning vim today and installed it using sudo apt-get install vim Now, when I try to do something like :5dd it gives me the not an editor command error. I'm not sure why this is. Am I doing anything wrong? I looked at tutorials and everywhere I look I see that 5dd is a valid command.

    I have a set of points in 3d space and I want to be able to categorize the shape that best fits them - cube, sphere, cylinder, planar (flat) etc. I've looked at supervised/machine learning but since I need first generate a large training data set that's not really suitable. My dream solution would be a java library with a wonderful magical function something like : public enum ShapeType { CUBE, SPHERE, CYLINDER, PLANAR } public ShapeType CategorizeShapeFromPoints( 3DPoint[] points ) However, any and all help will be appreciated.   • Remove stateful EJB bean in client

    I'm currently learning EJB and as I understand when client gets a stateful session bean the server keeps it in memory(or passivates it) until the client removes the bean. Pretty simple, except nowhere I have seen any examples of how the client can actually remove the bean. How do you do that other than shutting down your client application? Or do I just have to implement a reset method in all my stateful beans if I want to start over?

I am looking at ways to make my website as dynamic as possible without uploading changed content all over again. Something like config files. Rule engines exist, but learning them seems like a pain.     After learning good amount of c++, i'm now into STL containers and algorithms template library, my major concerns are, 1) Is this library same across different platforms like MS, linux n other os? 2) will quality or efficiency of program c++ module decrease with more use of STL containers and algorithms, i think i can't customize it to all needs. 3) Is this template library good to use in linux system programming, kernel modules? 4) lastly can i use this in programming contests, because it relives a lot of coding and pressure off shoulders.

    I'm learning JavaScript, and I can't understand why you'd make methods that aren't 'privileged,' that is, that aren't defined in the constructor but rather the class' prototype. I understand the idea of encapsulation and all, but you never encapsulate parts of a class from the rest of it in most of the OO world.
