  • Delphi 2009 RAD Studio - Desktop Selector not Working

    In the Delphi 2009 RAD Studio, there is a drop-down combo box where you can select the desktop configuration, i.e. "Default Layout", "Debug Layout, "Classic Undocked", etc. This has stopped working for me, i.e. when I select a desktop, nothing happens. I think I once "customized" the toolbar, by removing the drop-down combo box, and then I added it again, and ever since it has been dead. Is this a known bug? Is there a cure?

  • WEP key not working on laptop running Ubuntu

    I can't connect to my router via wifi from my laptop (running Ubuntu) even if I'm 100% sure the WEP key I punch in is correct. It works via LAN though. I'm also not able to ping localhost 127.0.0.1. I had some problems setting up the radio on my network card but I think that that works since it finds some wireless networks. (Although it's much much faster than Windows it's useless since I can't download any libraries for development.) What could be wrong with my setup?

    I just set up a DNS Server on my windows 7, called SimpleDNS I added a zone for example sag.com and defined www.sag.com and sag.com to 192.168.1.2 (my Network IP Address) . the problem is when I try to ping sag.com the SimpleDNS logs says that it answered the request with 192.168.1.2 , but the ping doesn't resolve anything .   • Internet not working on a VirtualBox Linux machine

    I installed VirtualBox on a Windows 7 PC and installed Xubuntu (Ubuntu with XFCE) on it. Now on the Windows, I am connected to the internet through a LAN which automatically authenticates to connect to the network(because its my work computer). I have also installed the guest additions on this virtual machine (Xubuntu). I tried both NAT and bridging to set up internet connection but I still cannot connect to the internet. For NAT: The browser doesn't say website not found but it keeps trying to load it forever and the network status monitor (the one provided by VirtualBox) doesn't show any green light (no incoming packets). For Bridging: Same as for NAT but the network status monitor shows incoming packets and outgoing packets. But internet still doesn't work. I tried a lot of different things but none worked.

  • Handbrake --stop-at parameter not working as intended

    Hey all, I run the following from command line: handbrakeCLI.exe -i SourceFile.mkv -o OutputFile.mkv --stop-at 120 According to the CLIGuide you can supply the --stop-at value as seconds (which is what I want, stop encoding 120 seconds into the file). My purpose for this is to quickly create a very high quality video clip from a full movie for testing other encoding processes. However, when I view my output file it is the entire movie. Any ideas?

    Did anybody try to install Hyper-V on Intel Atom platform? Hyper-V requires: x64 compatible processor with Intel VT or AMD-V technology enabled Hardware Data Execution Prevention (DEP) It seems that both requirements are satisfied with Atom as processor. However, I wonder whether there is some blocking issue (e.g. BIOS that does not support it) since all Atom motherboards I checked had quite old north/south-bridge. My intentions are to run two low-requirements virtual machines (embedded Linux), so performance should not be an issue.

  • Exchange 2003 IMAP not working for some users

    We normally don't have a need for IMAP connections from outside the company network but in order to allow a one user to use IMAP on a portable device I've turned it on and opened port 993 on the firewall. When the user in question was unable to get connected I tested this using Outlook remotely. Start by creating a new IMAP account in Outlook using a test account. No problems, it worked perfectly. Now try the same thing using the account of the user who actually needs to connect and it's a no-go. Outlook simply keeps prompting for logon credentials. Next I tried using my own account and that too failed. Testing with a couple of other accounts worked perfectly. Interestingly enough, with my own account I've used IMAP on a MAC before (internally) without a problem and I'm not aware of anything that has changed which could affect IMAP on my account. Checking the user settings in ADUC showed that all accounts have the same Exchange protocol settings. Specifically, IMAP is enabled. A check of the event logs on the server reveals no entries for the connection attempts, making this kind of difficult to debug. Has anyone here encountered such a situation and, even more importantly, what caused it?

Machine A: used keygen -t rsa to create id_rsa.pub in ~/.ssh/ copied Machine A's id_rsa.pub to Machine B user's home directory Made the file permissions of id_rsa.pub 600 Machine B added Machine A's pub key to authorised_keys and authorised_keys2: cat ~/id_rsa.pub ~/.ssh/authorised_keys2 made the file permissions of id_rsa.pub 600 I've also ensured both the .ssh directories have the permission 700 on both machine A and B. If I try to login to machine B from machine A, I get asked for the password, not the ssh pass phrase. I've got the root users on both machines to talk to each other using password-less ssh, but I can't get a normal user to do it. Do the user names have to be the same on both sides? Or is there some setting else where I've missed.   • RHEL server Yum dependencies not working

    I have a redhat server that isnt resolving dependencies correctly. I want to install httpd via yum "yum install httpd" and it installs correctly, but when i go to start httpd I get the following error: /sbin/service httpd restart Stopping httpd: [FAILED] Starting httpd: /usr/sbin/httpd: error while loading shared libraries: libaprutil-1.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [FAILED] It is missing the dependency for apr-util package.     I'm having errors with java left and right, normal java works just fine. It's things that use the internet for certificates and java .jnpl. I've tried Minecraft classic, it gives me a error, canirunit, error, Carnegie learning, error. I've switched browsers and still have these errors. everything is broken I've turned on ask me for unsigned certificates instead of blocking it and it doesn't pop-up.   • SharePoint 2010 search crawl not working

    I have the following set up: 1 x Windows server 2008 R2 running SQL 1 x Windows server 2008 R2 running SharePoint 2010. I have an issue with the search service application, the crawl appears to run for a never ending amount of time with 0 successes and 0 failures. Checking the Search Application Topology, I find that "Query Component 0" is "Not Responding". I have tried the following: I have ensured that the index directory has the right permissions applied to it and the search service account is in the right groups to consume those permissions. I have re-created the search service application. I have restarted the search service manually. I have trawled the net as much as possible to find a solution but as of yet have not come across something that has resolved this issue. Any input will be very much appreciated

  • CentOS 6.5 proxy bypass/no_proxy not working

    I am running CentOS 6.5 on my desktop. I've set the Network Proxy using the network proxy application provided under Preferences. I've also set the following exceptions: localhost,127.0.0.0/8,172.16.0.0/12,192.168.0.0./16 But whenever I am using wget (I'm testing the proxy settings using using wget) then wget tries to connect to the proxy for private addresses, but wget localhost works fine and doesn't use the proxy. I also removed all the proxy settings and set the proxy in the shell: export http_proxy="<proxy_url>:<port>" export https_proxy="<proxy_url>:<port>" export no_proxy="localhost,127.0.0.0/8,172.16.0.0/12,192.168.0.0./16" It work when I use the command wget <external_url> or wget localhost but fails when I use the command wget <private address from the $no_proxy variable>. I also tried setting the variables in Ubuntu 14.04 also and facing the same issue. Regards,

    I have a Marvell Yukon integrated NIC and i have installed the WOL package on my freeBSD-based NAS. I'm trying to wake my PC using the command "wol M:A:C:A:D:D:R". Command line spits back that it is "waking" however nothing happens. I found no reference to WOL whatsoever in BIOS and i enabled Magic Packet WOL in windows on that interface. Also double-checked MAC addr and that i entered it in the correct format in "wol". I'm on Windows 7. What next? =/

I downloaded the .jars from jogamp.org and put the gluegen-rt.jar , jogl.all.jar , gluegen-java-src.zip , jogl-java-src.zip , gluegen-rt-natives-macosx-universal.jar , jogl-all-natives-macosx-universal.jar in a directory "jar" in my HelloWorld folder - as described in http://jogamp.org/wiki/index.php/Downloading_and_installing_JOGL . Now I try to compile with javac -classpath "jar/gluegen-rt.jar:jar/jogl.all.jar" HelloWorld.java as described on https://jogamp.org/wiki/index.php/Setting_up_a_JogAmp_project_in_your_favorite_IDE .   • Hyper-V 2008 R2 synthetic networking stops working with linux 2.6.32.15

    Hi there, so I thought I'd give Hyper-V on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise a try on my Homeserver (yes, it's legit... got it from msdnaa). First thing to throw at it was my firewall which runs IPFire. This distribution currently uses the kernel version 2.6.32.15 and comes with the Hyper-V drivers. So I enabled them and at first they work just fine but after a few minutes they just fail. There are no packages going in or out anymore until I reboot the VM but sometimes even that won't work so the VM just keeps "Stopping" like forever. Emulated networking works fine but it slow and uses more CPU. That way my firewall routes slower than when running under virtualbox on an atom N270. My server has an E6750; VM is limited to 25%, but that should still outperform this atom CPU especially since it's never going anywhere near 100% CPU load, so give me a break! A quick google search led me to people having the same problem (even with other distributions and kernel versions that include those drivers) but no solution yet... I already found this but I can't quite follow the author on the part where he solved the issue - especially since I need two virtual nics for my firewall distro to work (obviously one internal and one external) What am I missing here?

I have an app at http://hpfweb.mydomain.com that requires Java v1.6.20 and will error out if any other version is attempted. When only this version is installed on the computer the application works. However, if a newer version is installed, it does not. As you can see, I've attempted to force the version to 1.6.0_20 in the ruleset. I've confirmed the deployment rule set is being applied successfully by going into the Java Control Panel -- Security and "view the active deployment rule set". It is exactly as you see here. I've also looked at the web source for the application and all references point to http://hpfweb* links. When the applet is launched I've brought up task manager and have confirmed the java.exe launched is coming from the jre6 directory. When the newer version is installed, I'm getting the error "accesscontrolexception - access denied (java.awt.AWTPermission.accessEventQueue".

    I'm trying to customize my sendto shortcut following instructions posted on a How-To Geek article. The problem is that any shortcut I drop into the sendto folder doesn't appear as a shortcut when I right-click-sendto. If I copy the actual application (say, Notepad) into the Sendto folder, it will appear as an option but it will not run. If I create a shortcut by copying the actual application and pasting a shortcut, it doesn't appear. Anyone run into this problem before?
