• VB.net httpwebrequest For loop hangs every 10 or so iterations

  Hello, I am trying to loop through an array and perform an httpwebrequest in each iteration. The code seems to work, however it pauses for a while (eg alot longer than the set timeout. Tried setting that to 100 to check and it still pauses) after every 10 or so iterations, then carries on working.   I have a certain text in Java, and I want to use pattern and matcher to extract something from it. This is my program: public String getItemsByType(String text, String start, String end) { String patternHolder; StringBuffer itemLines = new StringBuffer(); patternHolder = start + ".*" + end; Pattern pattern = Pattern.compile(patternHolder); Matcher matcher = pattern.matcher(text); while (matcher.find()) { itemLines.append(text.substring(matcher.start(), matcher.end()) + "\n"); } return itemLines.toString(); } This code works fully WHEN the searched text is on the same line, for instance: String text = "My name is John and I am 18 years Old"; getItemsByType(text, "My", "John"); immediately grabs the text "My name is John" out of the text. However, when my text looks like this: String text = "My name\nis John\nand I'm\n18 years\nold"; getItemsByType(text, "My", "John"); It doesn't grab anything, since "My" and "John" are on different lines. How do I solve this?

  I'm working on a web page (ASP.NET 4.0) and am just starting simple to try and get this ajax call working (I'm an ajax/jQuery neophyte) and I'm getting an error on the call. • If Then Else Statement Condition Being Ignored?

  I think im going mad but can some show me what im missing, it must be some stupidly simple i just cant see the wood for the trees. BOTH side of this if then else statement are being executed? Ive tried commenting out the true side and moving the condition to a seperate variable with the same result. However if i explicitly set the condition to 1=0 or 1=1 then the if then statement is operating as i would expect. i.e. only executing one side of the equation... The only time ive seen this sort of thing is when the compiler has crashed and is no longer compiling (without visible indication that its not) but ive restarted studio with the same results, ive cleaned the solution, built and rebuilt with no change? please show me the stupid mistake im making using vs2005 if it matters. • KeyUp processed for wrong control

  I have made a simple test application for the issue, two winforms each containing a button. The button on the first form opens the other form when clicked. It also subscribes to keyup events. The second form has its button set as "AcceptButton" and in the Clicked event we sleep for 1s and then set DialogResult to true (the sleep is to simulate some processing done) When enter is used to close this second form the KeyUp event of the button on the first form is triggered, even though the key was released well before the second had passed so the second form was still shown and focused. If any key other then enter is pressed in the second form the event is not triggered for the button on the first form. I want to be able to "flatten" array types when I return them but can't see any way to do this.   Hello All, Currently I have an application that receives an uploaded file from my web application. I now need to transfer that file to a file server which happens to be located on the same network (however this might not always be the case). I was attempting to use the webclient class in C# .NET. string filePath = "C:\\test\\564.flv"; try { WebClient client = new WebClient(); NetworkCredential nc = new NetworkCredential(uName, password); Uri addy = new Uri("\\\\192.168.1.28\\Files\\test.flv"); client.Credentials = nc; byte[] arrReturn = client.UploadFile(addy, filePath); Console.WriteLine(arrReturn.ToString()); } catch (Exception ex) { Console.WriteLine(ex.Message); } The machine located at 192.168.1.28 is a file server and has a share c:\Files. As of right now I am receiving an error of Login failed bad user name or password, but I can open explorer and type in that path login successfully. I can also login using remote desktop, so I know the user account works. Any ideas on this error? Is it possible to transfer a file directly like that? With the webclient class or maybe some other class? Thanks

  Hello, I am trying to replace some text in a string with different text while retaining some of the text and I am having trouble doing it. My code is: StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(fDialog.FileName.ToString()); string content = reader.ReadToEnd(); reader.Close(); /Replace M2 with M3 (this works fine) content = Regex.Replace(content, "M2", "M3"); I want to replace a string that contains this: Z0.1G0H1E1 and turn it into: G54G43Z.1H1M08 (Note the Z value and the H value contain the same numeric value before the text change) The trouble I am having is that when I replace the values, I need to retain the H value and the Z value from the first set of text. For example, Z0.5G0H5E1 I need to add the new text, but also add the H5 and Z0.5 back into the text such as: G54G43Z0.5H5M08 But the Z values and H values will be different every time, so I need to capture those values and reinsert them back into the string when add the new G54G43 values. Can someone please show me how to do this using Regex.Replace? Thanks so much, Shawn

  In my application I want the user to be able to select some content of an Image contained inside an ImageView. To select the content I subclassed the ImageView class making it implement the OnTouchListener so to draw over it a rectangle with borders decided by the user. Here is an example of the result of the drawing (to have an idea you can think of it as when you click with the mouse on your desktop and drag the mouse): Now I need to determine which pixels of the Bitmap image correspond to the selected part. It's kind of easy to determine which are the points of the ImageView belonging to the rectangle, but I don't know how to get the correspondent pixels, since the ImageView has a different aspect ratio than the original image. I followed the approach described especially here, but also here, but am not fully satisfied because in my opinion the correspondence made is 1 on 1 between pixels and points on the ImageView and does not give me all the correspondent pixels on the original image to the selected area. • Authentication Error when accessing Sharepoint list via web service

  I wrote a windows service a few months ago that would ping a Sharepoint list using _vti_bin/lists.asmx function GetListItemChanges. It was working fine until a few weeks ago when my company upgraded our Sharepoint instance to SP1. Now whenever my service attempts to access Sharepoint I receive an 401.1 authentication error: Error: You are not authorized to view this page You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. Please try the following: Contact the Web site administrator if you believe you should be able to view this directory or page. HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. Internet Information Services (IIS) I have checked and my privileges on the site have not changed. here is the code In which I call the list: Lists listsService = new Lists(); listsService.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("UserName", "Password", "domain"); Result = listsService.GetListItemChanges("List name", null, dTime.ToString(), null); It has also been brought to my attention that basic authentication may have been disabled on our farm. I don't believe I'm using that but I may be mistaken.

• C# TcpClient, getting back the entire response from a telnet device

  I'm writing a configuration tool for a device that can communicate via telnet. The tool sends a command via TcpClient.GetStream().Write(...), and then checks for the device response via TcpClient.GetStream().ReadByte(). This works fine in unit tests or when I'm stepping through code slowly. If I run the config tool such that it performs multiple commands consecutively, then the behavior of the read is inconsistent. By inconsistent I mean sometimes the data is missing, incomplete or partially garbled. So even though the device performed the operation and responded, my code to check for the response was unreliable. I "fixed" this problem by adding a Thread.Sleep to make sure the read method waits long enough for the device to complete its job and send back the whole response (in this case 1.5 seconds was a safe amount). The c is being compiled to a windows executable using mingw. I've always been under the assumption that C/C++ were faster or at least comparable to C#.net. What exactly is causing the C to run over 30 times slower? EDIT: It does appear that the C# optimizer was removing the root as it wasn't being used. I changed the root assignment to root += and printed out the total at the end. I've also compiled the C using cl.exe with the /O2 flag set for max speed. The results are now: 3.75 seconds for the C 2.61 seconds for the C# The C is still taking longer, but this is acceptable

  yeah so I have an sql statement that is supposed to return 2 rows. the first with psychological_id = 1, and the second, psychological_id = 2. here is the sql statement select * from psychological where patient_id = 12 and symptom = 'delire'; But with this code, with which I populate an array list with what is supposed to be 2 different rows, two rows exist, but with the same values: the second row. • WriteableBitmap failing badly, pixel array very inaccurate

  I have tried, literally for hours, and I have not been able to budge this problem. I have a UserControl, that is 800x369, and it contains, simply, a path that forms a worldmap. I put this on a landscape page, then I render it into a WriteableBitmap. I then run a conversion to turn the 1d Pixels array into a 2d array of integers. Then, to check the conversion, I wire up the custom control's click command to use the Point.X and Point.Y relative to the custom control in the newly created array. My logic is thus: wb = new WriteableBitmap(worldMap, new TranslateTransform()); wb.Invalidate(); intTest = wb.Pixels.To2DArray(wb.PixelWidth); My conversion logic is as such: public static int[,] To2DArray(this int[] arr,int rowLength) { int[,] output = new int[rowLength, arr.Length / rowLength]; if (arr.Length % rowLength != 0) throw new IndexOutOfRangeException(); for (int i = 0; i < arr.Length; i++) { output[i % rowLength, i / rowLength] = arr[i]; } return output; } Now, when I do the checking, I get completely and utterly strange results: apparently all pixels are either at values of -1 or 0, and these values are completely independent of the original colours.   I have a tree of categories and courses in my SEAM application. Courses may be active and inactive. I want to be able to show only active or all courses in my tree. I've decided to always build complete tree in my PAGE scope component since building this tree is quite expensive operation. I have boolean flag courseActive in the data wrapped by TreeNode<T>. Now I can't find the way to show courses node only if this flag is true.
