  • Linux scp command issue

    Hello everyone, I am using scp command to copy file from a MacBook Pro OS X 10.5 to another Linux box (Red Hat Linux Enterprise 5). I am using the following command on Mac, sudo scp ~/.ssh/mykey.rsa [email protected], there is no output from Mac command line. I am not sure whether the scp is success or not. Where is the location the file mykey.rsa on remote computer 10.10.100.101? thanks in advance, George

Our current project is built in PHP, and we have a MySQL database. I am short on funding and need the best option for our money. I have regenearted the default_dsa.key on server and imported the same for client but still not working. Any solutions?

    httpd = make_server('', 80, server) webbrowser.open(url) httpd.serve_forever() This works cross platform except when I launch it on a putty ssh terminal. How can i trick the console in opening the w3m browser in a separate process so it can continue to launch the server? Or if it is not possible to skip webbrowser.open when running on a shell without x?

  • How to boot linux direct to application on console with no login

    I have a need to start an application on bootup on the linux console and I do not have a need for any type of login or security. I do not need any ALT-F1,F2,etc virtual consoles but I would like to allow SSH access via the network port for debugging, loading, etc. The application is a SDL graphics program running with fbcon as the SDL_VIDEODRIVER if that matters. I'm currently using Fedora 10 and 12 but any distro that supports SDL using the fbcon framebuffer would be acceptable.

  • Perl regex matching output from `w -hs` command

    I'm trying to write a Perl script that will work better with KDE's kwrited, which, as far as I can tell, is connected to a pts and puts every line it receives through the KDE system tray notifications, with the title "KDE write daemon". Unfortunately, it makes a separate notification for each and every line, so it spams up the system tray with multiline messages on regular old write, and for some reason it cuts off the entire last line of the message when using wall (One-line messages are also goners.). I was also hoping to make it so that it could broadcast across a LAN with thick clients. Before starting on that (which would require ssh, of course), I tried to make an ssh-less version to make sure it works.     In the installation instructions for Yii it is nescessary to use console and command line utility - yiic. Well, on my shared hosting I don't have ssh access. This is why I have following questions: How often and for what reasons will I have to use console? Is there a way to avoid using yiic?     I'm building a Qt application that needs to use libssh, a SSH client library. libssh (understandably) performs its own network connections, however Qt has its own infrastructure for network connections (QTcpSocket etc). Should I worry about these differences? Should I be trying to make libssh make network connections via QTcpSocket... Or if it works fine on the platforms I'm targeting, is that good enough?
