  • Why does some images not display in different browsers?

    I've unreal problem. I have a site, where are displaying images over an classical <img> tag. All images are loading from the database, where is URL column of the image. My problem is that three of ten images are not display. But if I open the source code and click at the URL of the image, I can see image. In source code is some looks like (just for a simple example): <img src = "http://some.image/1.jpg" alt = "description" height = "140" width = "187" /> But the biggest snag is that Opera displays all images correct, but just in FF, IE, Chrome are mentioned problems. I can not provide a screenshots, because the pages are a bit perverse. How can I show the site where the problem is? Or some advice? Thank you.

  • Webkit browsers rendering CSS different than Mozilla Firefox...Why??

    I'm styling a form that was already marked up (made some markup changes), and I normally work in Firefox to style so I can use firebug and the web developer toolbar. On this project, I noticed that my styles are displaying quite differently for one particular area (several elements) in webkit based browsers Chrome and Safari, than in Firefox (we won't even get into Internet Explorer, although it is siding with the Firefox display). I can't figure out though why the styles are displaying so differently. Normally there is some rule that I'm neglecting that Firefox just takes for granted, and the others need it specified. But here I'm not getting why it's displaying this way. In particular I'm referring to the bottom area of the form where users can enter their contact info, then submit the form. I'll attach screen shots for reference as to the discrepancy. Here's the URL so feel free to check it out on your own.     Hello, i need to build the same source tree twice, 1 - with normal cflags to build the project binary 2 - with cflags plus -fPIC to build a static library that would be some sort of SDK to develop project dynamic modules. Using only one Makefile, what is the best approach to accomplish this? It would be nice to do some sort of : all: $(OBJECTS) lib_rule: $(OBJECTS) CFLAGS += -fPIC .cpp.o: $(CC) -c $< -o $@ $(CFLAGS) But obviously it can't be done. Thanks

  • Model state inferno - how can Model.A be two different things at the same time?

    I have this <%=Model.StartDate%> <%=Html.Hidden("StartDate", Model.StartDate)%> it outputs: 2010-05-11 11:00:00 +01:00 <input type="hidden" value="2010-03-17 11:00:00 +01:00" name="StartDate" id="StartDate"> What the... It's a paging mechanism so the hidden value was valid on the first page and I've been able to move forward to the next page. But since the values won't update properly it ends there. What do I need to do? Using firefox.

  • Creating a HTTP handler for IIS that transparently forwards request to different port?

    I have a public web server with the following software installed: IIS7 on port 80 Subversion over apache on port 81 TeamCity over apache on port 82 Unfortunately, both Subversion and TeamCity comes with their own web server installations, and they work flawlessly, so I don't really want to try to move them all to run under IIS, if that is even possible. However, I was looking at IIS and I noticed the HTTP redirect part, and I was wondering... Would it be possible for me to create a HTTP handler, and install it on a sub-domain under IIS7, so that all requests to, say, http://svn.vkarlsen.no/anything/here is passed to my HTTP handler, which then subsequently creates a request to http://localhost:81/anything/here, retrieves the data, and passes it on to the original requestee? In other words, I would like IIS to handle transparent forwards to port 81 and 82, without using the redirection features. For instance, Subversion doesn't like HTTP redirect and just says that the repository has been moved, and I need to relocate my working copy. That's not what I want. If anyone thinks this can be done, does anyone have any links to topics I need to read up on? I think I can manage the actual request parts, even with authentication, but I have no idea how to create a HTTP handler. Also bear in mind that I need to handle sub-paths and documents beneath the top-level domain, so http://svn.vkarlsen.no/whatever/here needs to be handled by a single handler, I cannot create copies of the handler for all sub-directories since paths are created from time to time.

  • How can I use different metadata for a Dynamic Data form view and the list view?

    We often need a summarised list view with more detailed form view. So far, the only two way I can think of doing this are using a 'custom' list or form view than uses a sumplimentary 'remove' or 'add' list of fields anb generalise this over all entity sets, or create a custom metadata provider that infers somehow which columns to supply. Are there any other ways of distinguishing these two views? PS, I wrote a fun little general details page, that handles insert, edit, and view, all on one page template. Maybe I could somehow use that? It's here.

    I have known that If you define a bunch of @"" NSString objects in the source code in Mac OS. These NSStrings will be stored in a segment in the Mach-O library. Section sectname __ustring segname __TEXT addr 0x000b3b54 size 0x000001b7 offset 731988 align 2^1 (2) reloff 0 nreloc 0 flags 0x00000000 reserved1 0 reserved2 0 If I hex dump the binary, they are aligned closely one by one with a 0x0000as separator. What I want to know is how does the loader in Mac OS X load these NSStrings when the program runs? Are they loaded simpily by recognize the 0x0000 separator or these is a string offset table elsewhere in the binary pointing to separate NSString objects? Thanks. (What I really want to do is the increase the length of one of the NSString, so I have to know how the loader recognize these separate objects)

I am generally more inclined to the first option, but I can't explain why. Is it totally the same or are any advantages in using one instead of the other? Maybe with the first method its easier to add more "states", altough in this case I am 100% sure I will only want two states: now awake, and now asleep (they signal the moments when one awakes and one falls asleep).

  • Same IL code, different output - how is it possible?

    When I compile this code with mono (gmcs) and run it, it outputs -1 (both with mono and .Net framework). When I compile it with VS (csc), it outputs -1 when I run it with mono, and 0 when I run it with the .Net framework.     I'm using SQL Server 2008 FTS and I'd like to be able to integrate weighted rankings into my search results. However, I'd like to weight the columns that a search term is found in differently. For example, if I have a Title column and a Description column, I want matches fond in Title to rank higher than matches in Description. Is this possible in SQL Server 2008? As far as can I see, I can only add weights to specific terms, not column locations.

  • casting BSTR as char* in a dll; different results depnding on VB/C# caller.

    I have a dll function that takes BSTR parameters. These are casted as char* before being used for other things. When the dll is called from VB code this works fine. However, when it is called from C# code, only the first character is pointed to. Both of these are excel addIns for Pre-2007 and 2007+ versions of Office, which call into a faster C++ AddIn. They actually call it directly, not through Excel. The VB function declaration looks like this: Private Declare Function Test Lib "ExcelAddIn.xll" (ByVal param As String) As String The C# function declaration looks like this: [DllImport("ExcelAddIn.xll", CharSet=CharSet.Ansi)] [return:MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.BStr)] private static extern string Test([MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.BStr)] string param); When debugging the dll and watching the input BSTR values, they appear to be correct from both; just the C# one only casts the first character. Charset=CharSet.Unicode makes no difference. Any ideas anyone?

  • How should I return different types in a method based on the value of a string in Java?

    I'm new to Java and I have come to having the following problem: I have created several classes which all implement the interface "Parser". I have a JavaParser, PythonParser, CParser and finally a TextParser. I'm trying to write a method so it will take either a File or a String (representing a filename) and return the appropriate parser given the extension of the file. Here is some psuedo-code of what I'm basically attempting to do: public Parser getParser(String filename) { String extension = filename.substring(filename.lastIndexOf(".")); switch(extension) { case "py": return new PythonParser(); case "java": return new JavaParser(); case "c": return new CParser(); default: return new TextParser(); } } In general, is this the right way to handle this situation? Also, how should I handle the fact that Java doesn't allow switching on strings? Should I use the .hashcode() value of the strings? I feel like there is some design pattern or something for handling this but it eludes me. Is this how you would do it?
