But, shortly after, the activity seems to have been removed. I don't know why. Does this mean that I can never let the cpu sleep, or is there something else I have to set? Thanks, again.

  • Laptop is super slow on network

    So on our network we have a bunch of wireless macs and window Operating laptops, we have a network setup with 802.11g,b,n. All the laptops seem fine except one which is only getting speeds of 54Mb. I have changed the encryption from AES to TKIP and reset the connection, i have updated the drivers, tried plugging it into the LAN and still same slow speed. Apparently the laptop with the slow speed is fine on other networks. I don't know what to do, can anyone help me?

  • Files being rolled back on server 2008 R2

    I've got a weird situation occurring on my dev server. Randomly, and for no reason that I can see, files are being rolled back to an earlier version! This has happened twice now - the first time I assumed I'd done something wrong somewhere, restored the file I was after from a backup and gave it no further thought. The second time, just now, it happened to a folder containing just a few files that I was working on - suddenly all the changes I'd made over the last day or two were gone! (I know, commit more often, ay?). Thankfully I have a daily backup and so have recovered my files, but I'm very concerned about this and need to understand how and why it's happened. The only change made between file states is that I enabled sharing on a completely unrelated folder. I'm developing an app on Railo, which is running on Tomcat. The code was all fine and in c:\websites\appname. I shared the 'Railo' folder, which is c:\railo in order to allow my IDE access to the logs generated by the app (contained in c:\railo\tomcat\logs) and when I reloaded the app, the code was reverted to a few days ago! I'm at a complete loss here. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

    I have a Lenovo T60 with Ubuntu 10.04 connected with a cross-over cable to a Dell Vostro 1400, also running Ubuntu 10.04. My internet is coming into the Lenovo through an external wireless antennae, and I want to share the internet with the Dell. On the Lenovo: eth0 connection has IPv4 Settings 'Shared to other computers' I can ping the Dell (10.42.43.10) successfully I can use mtr to trace to www.google.com successfully On the Dell: eth0 connection has IPv4 Settings 'Automatic DHCP' I can ping the Lenovo (10.42.43.1) successfully when I use mtr to trace to www.google.com, I can only reach 10.42.43.1 I must be missing some setting, but cannot see what it is; can anyone help me?

  • Mercurial changeset hook problem when auto updating. Server permissions maybe??

    I am using Mercurial SCM over a LAN using a normal shared folder instead of http and i'm having a problem getting the auto update hook to run. I have entered this hook as detailed here: http://mercurial.selenic.com/wiki/FAQ#FAQ.2BAC8-CommonProblems.Any_way_to_.27hg_push.27_and_have_an_automatic_.27hg_update.27_on_the_remote_server.3F This installs the hook, but when i push something to the remote repo i get an error: added 1 changesets with 1 changes to 1 files running hook changegroup: hg update >&2 warning: changegroup hook exited with status -1 There is a stackoverflow question similar to this here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2885246/mercurial-auto-update-problem but it offers no solutions other than it may be a permissions error somewhere. Has anyone else had this problem and can anyone else shed any more light on this or give me a heads up on where to start fixing this? Thanks.

  • Windows sometimes minimizes game and shows the desktop?

    For some reason, every once in a while when I'm playing a full-screen game in Windows 7, the game will minimize and focus will be given to the Desktop. I don't know what does this because no other problem appears to activate (nothing new in the taskbar or system tray appears). This occurs in a variety of games, from a variety of publishers, so it's definitely not the game that's having the problem. When this occurs, I can simply click on the game to go back to it, but it's obviously still quite annoying. Anyone know what's going on here? Is this a common occurrence with a simple fix?   • Problem with fitting graphics card

    I have recently purchased a new radeon hd5670 graphics card. The problem I have is that it is what I might call a double height card. So the end where you fix the card to the case is twice the size of the card it is replacing. But this means that it is blocked by the rear of the network card. The only way I can see it to cut that part of the fixture part out then I won't have a problem. But has anyone any suggestions what I could use? To be clear it is not the actual card it is the fixture part which is 90 degress to the card that is causing the problem. Unless someone knows of another solution - some kind of pci-e extender that I could use as I could easily

  • Importing Bookmarks from a Text File (to any browser/website)

    I have dozens of text files containing around 60 url's each, accumulated over years of browsing on multiple computers. I wish to import these into any browser, to allow me to then use cross-browser importing. My ultimate goal is to then import the bookmarks to somewhere like delicious, which will automatically tag the links, allowing me to sort each page by subject. The closest I've managed to find is: Import bookmarks to firefox from txt file However while this plugin imports from a text file, it has no correlation with Firefox's bookmarks, and only allows you to export back to csv/txt files. I understand that the problem of importing from text files is that bookmarks need a Title, and so I wish to use a given pages existing title. I've been unable to find any such tool on the net.

It installed successfully. and again ran the following command the following location /myapp/vendor/plugin/redbox/rake update_scripts . It shows me the following output (in /myapp/vendor/plugins/redbox) rake aborted! private method `copy' called for File:Class /home/myapp/vendor/plugins/redbox/Rakefile:28 (See full trace by running task with --trace) I don't know How to solve this ... Then i understand that "rake update_scripts" copying the Js and Css file only. so i manually copied the Redbox.js & redbox.css files into the respective places under /public folder I include the follwoing into my application.html.erb <%= stylesheet_link_tag 'redbox' % <%= javascript_include_tag :defaults % <%= javascript_include_tag 'redbox' % It included in the page successfully.     Hi all, sorry for the blast. I'm trying to connect to an SQLServer 2k5 using Ruby 1.8.7 over W2k3 with active record 2.3.5. But, when I ran 'rake migrate' it throws the following: rake migrate --trace Hoe.new {...} deprecated. Switch to Hoe.spec. Invoke migrate (first_time) Invoke environment (first_time) Execute environment Execute migrate rake aborted! no such file to load -- odbc (...) C:/Program Files/test/Rakefile:146 (...) So, my Rakefile in the line 146 says: ActiveRecord::Migrator.migrate('db/migrate', ENV["VERSION"] ? ENV["VERSION"].to_i : nil ) The database.yml has been configured in so many ways without success. I've tried setup to mode in odbc, to configure a system dsn, to completely use the activerecord support for sqlserver but no success at all. The same Rakefile works fine over Postgres and Oracle with the proper gems installed off course. But I cann't get this work. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • Cucumber-rails on jruby installs gem into my apps root directory with bundler

    Just installed cucumber 0.7.2 and cucumber-rails 0.3.1 with jruby-1.4.0 on OSX. When I run a bundle install, it places a cucumber-rails directory in my main app with all of the gem code/dependencies. First off, this is definitely not what I want and I'm not sure why this happens for cucumber-rails only.     I have Sphinx installed on windows xp system. A I use Thinking Sphinx plug-in within my rails application. I can't rebuild index with Thinking Sphinx rake task after application server starting up even if I stop it: Stopped search daemon (pid 4492). ... bla bla bla ... total 3 reads, 0.000 sec, 1.3 kb/call avg, 0.0 msec/call avg total 9 writes, 0.000 sec, 1.2 kb/call avg, 0.0 msec/call avg WARNING: could not open pipe (GetLastError()=2) rake aborted! searchd is already running.   • ruby on rails gitorious setup on ubuntu

    Ive been trying to install gitorious for a while now which required ruby and rails etc. Ive finally got rails pages serving but cant finish the installation of gitorious because the gem version is too new. the error logs say please run 'rake ultrasphinx:configure' and that gives rake ultrasphinx:configure (in /var/www/apps/gitorious) rake aborted! uninitialized constant ActiveSupport::Dependencies::Mutex /var/www/apps/gitorious/Rakefile:10:in `require' (See full trace by running task with --trace) From searching google this is beacuse of the wrong gem verison. Cant find a way to down grade it. apparently sudo gem update --system 1.4.2 should do the trick but ubuntu 10.10 does not like this. ERROR: While executing gem ... (RuntimeError) gem update --system is disabled on Debian, because it will overwrite the content of the rubygems Debian package, and might break your Debian system in subtle ways. The Debian-supported way to update rubygems is through apt-get, using Debian official repositories. If you really know what you are doing, you can still update rubygems by setting the REALLY_GEM_UPDATE_SYSTEM environment variable, but please remember that this is completely unsupported by Debian. So i added export REALLY_GEM_UPDATE_SYSTEM=1 to .bashrc and reloaded it with . ~/.bashrc and still the same. ive tried various forms of setting this environmental variable with no luck. Ive also been told on #gitorious irc channel to add the file config/initializers/rubygems.rb with the line require "thread" to it. This has done nothing.     I have an application using the SentientUser gem to provide the current user to my models. On top of that I'm using default scoping to ensure that a user can only ever access data that they own. So a typical model for me looks something like this: class Location < ActiveRecord::Base validates_presence_of :name, :time_zone, :address belongs_to :account belongs_to :address accepts_nested_attributes_for :address default_scope :conditions => { :account_id => User.current.account } end When I run rake cucumber I get an error on the default_scope line about account being nil. My guess is that when the cucumber rake task is run it doesn't have access to the correct application controller to inject the current_user method and thus SentientUser can't get the current user?   • JQuery Tools Overlay for modal dialog broken under IE8

    I've been developing a website that has several modal dialog boxes. I've been using jQuery Tools Overlay for the dialog boxes. However, I've just discovered that it doesn't seem to work properly on IE8. In Chrome (and I presume other browsers), the dialog is highlighted by darkening the rest of the page "below" it, but on IE8 the page "below" is obliterated - all you get is the dialog on a black background. This appears to be nothing to do with the way I've configured it - the same problem is evident on the jQuery Tools website itself. If you click the link above and then click one of the two buttons headed "For User Interactions", then you'll see what I mean. What's the deal? Does it simply not support IE8? If so, (a) grrrr... and (b) what else should I use?

  • How can I install asp.net mvc 2 on IIS7?

    I have developed an ASP.NET MVC 2 website, and now need to deploy it to my web server. I've overcome some hurdles already, since ASP.NET was not installed etc. but I've now got to the point where I can serve up plain content files, and if I try to hit one of my MVC URLs I get this: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Mvc, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Not surprising, that, as I've not installed MVC2. Problem is, I can't find any good information about how to install it! The Microsoft Download Center lists 3 files, none of which look promising: ASP.NET-MVC-2-RTM-Release-Notes.doc AspNetMVC2_VS2008.exe mvc2-ms-pl.zip The site doesn't bother to explain what the files actually are, but I assume that the last file is the source code. That's what it looks like, anyway. The release notes are no help whatsoever, since they're all about installing on your development machine, and indeed the name of the EXE makes it clear that that's all about Visual Studio integration too. So how do I actually deploy the darn thing? The other option linked to from Scott Gu's blog is the Microsoft Web Platform Installer. Now, I don't want to install more than just MVC2, and I already have IIS etc. set up, so this seems a bit heavy. But it's all academic, as it refuses to run on my server, saying "your system is not supported" or words to that effect. (The server is Windows Server 2008 Standard SP2, so I really don't know what it's problem is). Help! [It's ridiculous that this should be so hard - or perhaps not hard at all, but certainly a well-kept secret!]

  • EDM -> POCO -> WCF (.NET4) But transferring Collections causes IsReadOnly set to TRUE

    Ok, this may sound a little 'unorthodox', but...using VS2010 and the new POCO t4 template for Entity Framework (http://tinyurl.com/y8wnkt2), I can generate nice POCO's. I can then use these POCO's (as DTO's) in a WCF service essentially going from EDM all the way through to the client. Kinda what this guys is doing (http://tinyurl.com/yb4bslv), except everything is generated automatically. I understand that an entity and a DTO 'should' be different, but in this case, I'm handling client and server, and there's some real advantages to having the DTO in the model and automatically generated. My problem is, that when I transfer an entity that has a relationship, the client generated collection (ICollection) has the read-only value set, so I can't manipulate that relationship. For example, retrieving an existing Order, I can't add a product to the Products collection client-side...the Products collection is read-only. I would prefer to do a bunch of client side 'order-editing' and then send the updated order back rather than making dozens of server round trips (eg AddProductToOrder(product)). I'd also prefer not to have a bunch of thunking between Entity and DTO. So all-in-all this looks good to me...except for the read-only part. Is there a solution, or is this too much against the SOA grain?
