The list includes classics like the in-depth and atmospheric Arkham Horror to more recent and kid-friendly GeistesBlitz. Although we think their list is rock solid and includes some great titles, we’re disappointed to see that Witch of Salem, a great lighter-weight alternative to Arkham Horror for those nights you want some cooperative H.P. • LightScythe Creates Huge Light Paintings

  Earlier this year we showed you how an LED POV staff could be used to visualize network data. This build takes it to another level and allows you to imprint entire words and images into photos. Gavin, a hardware hacker from Sydney, built an open-source POV (persistence of vision) staff after the Wi-Fi visualizer inspired him to begin playing with large POV builds. He built his POV staff using LED strips, wireless controllers, and a laptop to send the signals at the proper intervals to the staff. • Easily Add Program Shortcuts to the Desktop Context Menu in Windows 7

  If you use the Desktop context menu often, wouldn’t it be useful if you could add program shortcuts to it so you can quickly access your favorite apps? We’ve shown you how to do this using a quick registry tweak, but there’s an easier way. DeskIntegrator is a free, portable program that allows you to quickly and easily add applications to the Desktop context menu. It does not need to be installed. Extract the program files from the .zip file you downloaded (see the link at the end of the article) to a location on your hard drive. NOTE: This article shows you how to use DeskIntegrator in Windows 7, but we tested it in Windows 8 Release Preview and it worked there as well. To use DeskIntegrator, you must run it as administrator. Right-click on the DeskIntegrator.exe file and select Run as administrator from the popup menu. • Gmail Now Searches Inside PDF, Word, and PowerPoint Attachments

  Gmail has long had a robust system for searching within the subjects and bodies of your emails, now you can search inside select attachments–PDF, Word, and PowerPoint attachments are all searchable. Prior to this update, Gmail could search inside of HTML attachments but lacked more advanced attachment querying abilities. Now when you search your Gmail account you’ll see search results for not only the subject and body contents but also the contents of popular formats like PDF and Word documents. Don’t forget to take advantage of advanced search terms to speed up your query. If you know the information you need is in an attachment but can’t remember which email, include “has:attachment” in your search to only peek inside emails with attachments.
