I'm using grep to generate a list of files I need to move:
grep -L -r 'Subject: \[SPAM\]' .
How can I pass this list to the mv command and move the files somewhere else?
Hi.
I have a process where one of the things to do is to capture the output from a print into a file for further processing. For this I have configured a "FILE:" printer port which works very nicely but asks everytime for the file name to use.
Unfortunately "FILE" is not a very descriptive word when trying to use a search engine :(
Is there a small driver somewhere which does exactly the same as the FILE: driver, but can automatically generate a filename (perhaps based on a pattern) and just print to that?
I am using Doxygen to generate some API docs for a C# project I am working on. I have quite a bit of "internal" functionality in this project and don't want Doxygen producing these signatures in the generated html it produces.
I have tried enabling HIDE_FRIEND_COMPOUNDS but this still results in my internal classes being exposed in the generated documentation.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Hi,
I jus created a rails application. I created a model using ruby script/generate model Article
next i edited the my articles.rb file by adding these lines in self.up method
def self.up
create_table :articles do |t|
t.string :title
t.text :body
t.string :published_at
t.timestamps
end
end
Now i ran rake db:migrate . But migrate does not work, it simply does no print anything. Anyone knows where i am going wrong?
What are some tips I can use to avoid memory leaks in my applications? In my current project I use a tool "INSURE++" which finds the memory leak and generate the report.
Apart from the tool is there any method to identify memory leaks and overcome it.
I'm creating a reporting application, and our customers are going to need to generate some pretty big reports which require quite a bit of memory. Ive been in a re-factoring mood lately, so I was wondering what the best way to access the properties of another open form would be(The reporting viewer opens in a new form.) So far I have:
Dim form As MainSelections
form = My.Application.OpenForms(2)
yay or nay.
Thanks
I want to make Waf generate a beep when it finishes the execution of any command that took more than 10 seconds.
I don't know how do add this and assure that the code executes when Waf exits.
This should run for any Waf command not only build.
I checked the Waf book but I wasn't able to find any indication about how should I do this.
Reading online about this topic is confusing. Is there a way to cut around the history, politics and technicalities to answer the question: Which standard should I refer to when I write code to generate feeds?
I want to use UTF-8 encoding, which may affect the choice. Otherwise I'm most interested in compatibility with a decent range of readers.
Hello,
how can I generate a xsd schema for a c# type (in code). There must be certainly a way, because xsd schema is generated for datacontracts in wcf.
I have a large data set of tuples containing (time of event, latitude, longitude) that I need to visualize. I was hoping to generate a 'movie'-like xy-plot, but was wondering if anyone has a better idea or if there is an easy way to do this in Python?
Thanks in advance for the help,

I have global static variables in a C library, which generate exceptions in a multithread run. I need to make them safe in some way (i.e. - each thread should relate to a different instance of these variables). Any recommended methods?

Are there any eclipse plugin available to auto generate sequence diagram for C++ code running in the linux environment? Please let me know the details. Thanks.
I have some statistics I need to report on a monthly basis. I need my query to return 0's for statistics which aren't there. The only way I know to do this is to use SQL to generate a list of days within the specified time period and LEFT JOIN the statistic data that I need to report on.
Problem is.... I've never not selected from a table like that... how do I do that?
When I read source from open source projects I often find a comment line with "$Id" at the header of the file, f. ex.:
// $Id: addappwindowa.c 30792 2009-03-07 22:40:04Z neil $
Is there an "offical" syntax for this lines? (What does "30792" means? )
Are there editors that auto-generate these "$Id"s?
Are there any tools that use this information?
I'm trying to generate top-level abstract class with JCodeModel library, but I can't find any way to change class modifiers.
It's possible for nested classes (JDefinedClass API provides methods that get modifiers as parameters). But for creation of top level classes I found only JCodeModel API methods that get fully qualified name with or without ClassType (class/interface/annotation/enum) as parameters.
Does anybody can suggest me how to change modifiers of JDefinedClass to make it abstract?

I have a list which contains a number of things:
lista = ['a', 'b', 'foo', 'c', 'd', 'e', 'bar']
I'd like to get the first item in the list that fulfils a predicate, say len(item) > 2. Is there a neater way to do it than itertools' dropwhile and next?
first = next(itertools.dropwhile(lambda x: len(x) <= 2, lista))
I did use [item for item in lista if len(item)>2][0] at first, but that requires python to generate the entire list first.
Given a group of about 20 enums that I cannot modify.
Im looking for an elegant solution to generate a random enum from a specific sample (ie, 2, 7, 18)
I could put these into an arraylist, but thought I would ask if there is something else I could try.
Using an array like this:
$data = array
(
'host' => 1,
'country' => 'fr',
)
I would like to create a MySQL query that uses the values of the array to form its WHERE clause like:
SELECT *
FROM table
WHERE host = 1 and country = 'fr'
How can I generate this query string to use with MySQL?
I have a table with 42 million records. 32 million have a null value and I would like to generate a new guid for each one. Should I do this in batches?
Also, going forward, I would like a new guid added to the field on the insert of a new record. What is the best way to do this?
The field is not the primary key, which is an auto-incrementing integer.
Is there a possiblity to get or generate a version ID on every GWT compile is performed, from ant Build File or using 'Compile' button Google Eclipse Plugin?
How could i import the certificat into the client machine?
Does any parameter in exist to do this ?
How could i grant the permission to my applet on the client machine since the server Apache?

I'm trying to extend a Java Swing component in Clojure, i.e. I want to extend a javax.swing.JComponent and add some custom methods implemented in pure Clojure in addition to all the standard inherited methods.
I've tried using "proxy" which works great if I just want a single instance (in the same way as an anonymous inner class). However I'd really like a named class so that I can generate an arbitrary number of instances.
What's the recommended way of doing this?
