    I have a project where a user needs to define a set of instructions for a ui that is completely written in javascript. I need to have the ability to parse a string of instructions and then translate them into instructions. Is there any libraries out there for parsing that are 100% javascript? Or a generator that will generate in javascript? Thanks!

  • Capistrano SSH::AuthenticationFailed, not prompting for password

    I've been using capistrano successfully for a while now and all of a sudden in every project I've lost the ability to deploy. Environment: os X (Mavericks) ruby 1.9.3p194 rvm (locally, not on server) rails 3.2 and up RubyGems 1.8.25 I'm not using rsa_keys or anything I want capistrano to prompt for user and password. Suddenly it has decided not to ask for a password, but does ask for user. Then it rolls back and gives me the following error. [deploy:update_code] exception while rolling back: Capistrano::ConnectionError, connection failed for: sub.example.com (Net::SSH::AuthenticationFailed: Authentication failed for user [email protected]) connection failed for: sub.example.com (Net::SSH::AuthenticationFailed: Authentication failed for user [email protected]) This has occurred on my personal laptop and my iMac at work. It occurs when deploying to two different servers (both linux) I'm completely at a loss here. Any ideas?

  • NAS for Mac OS X Server

    I'm using Mac OS X Server and want to allow the users that connect to their network accounts to store their data on a NAS drive. I want the users to connect to the Lion server as this allows for better policies and management for me and for their afp share to be located on a NAS drive. I've looked into home directories and network logins however I don't want the users to connect into a different login environment, just an authentication against their provided account on the Lion server and for their finder to take them to their own storage area - located on the NAS drive. Currently I am using FreeNAS for both authentication and storage however there are getting to be far too many people to manage each afp share and account, plus just using FreeNAS is extremely limiting for expansion and if something goes wrong with 1 entity the entire system goes down. Using the Lion server for user accounts and policies will be much better for this expanding business. I have looked into LDAP, using the Lion server as an LDAP server to authenticate against for FreeNAS however I have had issues with this and thought a different approach could be better from the other side of the situation... Providing the account with somewhere to store data rather than the afp share authenticating against an LDAP server. I am wrong to try it this way? Is it possible to logically add storage to a Mac OS X Server which can be recognised as a local drive, so can be used for network accounts?

    Please not that I fully understand this is a dumb ass idea, but its not my idea. We need to deter people visiting a certain page on our site. It's written in ASP and I don'tknow ASP! Can anyone tell me how I can have a pop up box load when the URL is visited where by people have to enter a username / password. The user name / password should be stored in the javascript. (Yes I know) The only real requirement is that this happen anytime the page is loaded and it stays on that page. So the page is test.asp - javascript pops up they enter credentials and if right remain on test.asp Thanks

  • [ASP.NET] Generating images: Alternate font by User Agent (OS)

    Hello, I need to generate small images for certain parts of text. Those will have to fit into the text seamlessly. I know I can not make up for every browser font settings available, but how do I have to check for Linux, Mac and Windows users depending on the user agent? I want to use the right font (of the three "Verdana, Arial, Helvetiva") for the right user agent OS. So: How do I check for the OS? What do I have to compare to in the user agent? Where can I get the other two fonts. Does the Windows-included Verdana look the same as the one used on Linux (or, is it free anyway? I don't know much about fonts)? Where do I get Helvetica? Is it Mac OS licensed? Any code examples can be in either c# or VB.NET. I can read both. Thank you in advance.

  • Apache on CentOS 5.9 VM serves my optimized images corrupted (but my Mac doesn't)

    I'm using a Vagrant VM to mirror the client's environment as closely as I can. As part of our build process we do no optimization of assets early on; that comes as we're ready to take a site live. Needless to say, this issue is beginning to worry me as we need to take the site live very soon. I use ImageOptim to automate optimization of image assets, which runs a whole series of tools (Zopfli, PNGOUT, OptiPNG, AdvPNG, PNGCrush). I always set the optimizations to their maximum setting. After optimization, my PNGs start looking like this: What's weird is, if I serve the same file through my Mac's copy of Apache, not through Vagrant, the image loads fine. In fact, the only time it's ever corrupt like this is when the image is served from the Vagrant VM and its install of Drupal. All optimized JPEGs display only the first ~20% of the image. And PNGs, depending on the image, may show either a portion or the "progressive"-style corruption below. The browser itself makes no difference, the same browser will serve an uncorrupted image from my Mac's Apache instance and a corrupt image from the VM. When I disable all PNG optimizations except PNGCrush, and the removal of the PNG metadata, the image is served corrupted. I'm optimizing JPEG images with JPEGmini. The server is running CentOS 5.9, Apache 2.2.3-85, PHP 5.3.3, and Drupal 7. As best as I can tell the error lies somewhere within the VM, either with Apache or with (perhaps) the network stack. Seems like the tools that optimize the compression of the PNGs and JPEGs are what trigger this error. I've already determined that the .htaccess file isn't interfering with how the images load. What should I try to troubleshoot this?

    Do you know when you use in a form the password field, like this: <input type="password" name="pass"> And you do a GET or POST submit to the same page who have the form and if the user hit back in the browser the password field gets blank. Well thats good, but i need to get blank another form field when the user hit back. Thats because i asking for a captcha and the text field who hold the information entered by the user ramain fill when he hit back, but the captcha image change, and if i dont blank the field the user (sometimes) dont get that he needs to re-enter the captcha.     I'm looking for guidence on writing a custom password reset UI, but it must fit the Provider 'Pattern', or degrade silently to built-in defaults. E.g. my Reset Control must collect extra information, and perform differently to the standard Password Recovery Control. It must close as possible use the standard MembershipProvider interface for standard functions, and only use an extended interface for the non-standard stuff. I'd like some reading on issues such as, what must I ask the Membership Provider for, and what must I do myself. What must I tell the provider (service?) about what I do? Etc.

    Hi, I'm using the following to generate a random password in a shell script: DBPASS=</dev/urandom tr -dc A-Za-z0-9| (head -c $1 > /dev/null 2>&1 || head -c 8) When i run this in a file on its own like this: #!/bin/sh DBPASS=</dev/urandom tr -dc A-Za-z0-9| (head -c $1 > /dev/null 2>&1 || head -c 8) echo $DBPASS A password is echoed. When i incorporate it into a larger script though the variable never seems to get created for some reason, so for example this doesn't work: DBPASS=</dev/urandom tr -dc A-Za-z0-9| (head -c $1 > /dev/null 2>&1 || head -c 8) sed -i s/oldpass/$DBPASS/ mysql_connect.php If i manually set the variable though everything is fine.. can anyone see why?

    Given a infinite stream of random 0's and 1's that is from a biased (e.g. 1's are more common than 0's by a know factor) but otherwise ideal random number generator, I want to convert it into a (shorter) infinite stream that is just as ideal but also unbiased. Looking up the definition of entropy finds this graph showing how many bits of output I should, in theory, be able to get from each bit of input. The question: Is there any practical way to actually implement a converter that is nearly ideally efficient?

    I am developing a new application using Symfony. I want to store the passwords hashed, so I overridded the save method in my User model: public function save(Doctrine_Connection $conn = null) { $this->setUserPassword( md5($this->getUserPassword()) ); return parent::save($conn); } This works good when a new user created. However, this causes problems when we edit a user without changing his password. This causes Doctrine to hash the already hashed password. So, I need to check that whether the UserPassword is modified in this DoctrineRecord instance. How can I manage to do that?

    I have password protected website with .htaccess. What I want to do now is to force users to login from the index.html page and not from any other which they can do now. ie. I have index.html (the main page) and I have two other pages 1.html and 2. html also protected with .htaccess password. Users can now type http://www.mypage.com/1.html and they will be asked for login data but I would like to force them (before they are asked for login details) to index.html to login. After they are loggedin they can use any link (ie.1.html or 2.html) as they want. Can this be done by using .htaccess? I would need the whole code. Thank you!

  • Using php to create a password system with chinese characters

    Hi guys, I'm having an issue with validating chinese characters against other chinese characters, for example I'm creating a simple password script which gets data from a database, and gets the user input through get. The issue I'm having is for some reason, even though the characters look exactly the same when you echo them out, my if statement still thinks they are different. I have tried using the htmlentities() function to encode the characters, the password from the database encodes nicely, giving me a working '& #35441;' (I've put a space in it to stop it from converting to a chinese character!). The other user input value gives me a load of funny characters. The only thing which I believe must be breaking it, is it encodes in a different way and therefore the php thinks it's 2 completely different strings. Does anybody have any ideas?   • I have UFW block messages from local network machines, how can I analyse if they are malicious?

    I'm getting a lot of messages in my UFW log, and I'm trying to figure out if these are malicious or just normal. A UDP broadcast is coming from a windows laptop x.x.x.191, and some from our synology disks x.x.x.{6,8,10,11}. I have not figured out which macine 114 is yet. I would appreciate some advice in how to read the log, and get the most I can out of these calls.   • Why is iTunes starting and stopping play randomly, and how do I stop it?

    Since yesterday morning my copy of iTunes has been starting and stopping randomly. If iTunes is not running, then it opens and sometimes begins playing, other times sits idle. Eventually, after a random interval it will begin playing a song, and then stop, and so on... Needless to say, it's driving me mad. (Mac OSX, 10.6.3, on a new-ish (< 1 year old) 24" iMac) I've made five changes to my system that may or may not be connected to this: My office phone was replaced with a Linksys IP Phone, which necessitated a change to my networking; where previously my Mac was connected directly to the office network port, now it is connected through the phone. My network connection now uses auto link detection in lieu of forcing 100Mbit I unpaired my bluetooth headset. I removed the USB audio device associated with another headset. I upgraded to Safari 5. I don't use it as a primary browser, but it's often open to run web apps that I'm developing. All of these things happened in pretty close proximity to each other, so one or more of them may be the culprit. One other thing that may or may not be related; for some reason my built-in microphone is no longer picking up audio. It seems like this might be connected to the iTunes issue, because it happened around the same time. In terms of things that I've tried in order to solve this, I'm at a bit of a loss. I followed the instructions at http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/technotes/tn2004/tn2124.html#SECLAUNCHDLOGGING to enable detailed launchd logging to see if I could track down which process was asking iTunes to open (when it's not already open) but I wasn't able to make heads or tails of the output. I'm not even sure if I'm looking in the right place, to be honest; it actually acts like something is activating the application with AppleScript, but I have no processes running that are doing that, as far as I know. I'm running a few apps that have iTunes integration: Adium, iChat with Chax, Quicksilver. None of these have been changed lately, so I consider them low risks of causing this, but it's not impossible. Moreover, I'm not using any of those features intentionally.     I thought I'd share my experiences here. I work for a small business with only ~20 users. I wanted the ability to use managed client preferences to assign things like the software update server. Basically the ability to manage my Macs easily and in a native way. At first I tried the magic triangle solution, but I found this to be very complicated. Not only does it require a Mac OS X Server, but it gives you two points of failure. Additionally each Mac workstation must be bound to both servers. Eventually I sucked it up and went with the schema changes documented here. I was hesitant at first, because the instructions require a lot of manual work. However it was fairly basic and only took me about an hour and a half. Below you'll find the schema changes file that was a result of my work. I followed the instructions exactly and double checked everything, after six months of having this in place things have been running great. Too good to not share.   • Java applet needs permission but doesn't ask for it!

    I'm trying to connect a VPN connection (on Mac OS X 10.6.6) through a Check point java applet. The first time it ran I chose NOT to give it access to my files and such and now every time I try to lunch the applet it tells me too "Please confirm the use of this Java applet and then refresh or reopen the window." But I don't know how to confirm it nor delete the applet. How can I change the permissions afterwards and where can I find java applets installed on my computer? Update: This turns out to be a problem in Firefox. Cleared cookies, Java cache and certificate in Safari and it seems to work.

  • Logs show failed password for invalid user root from <IP Address> port 2924 ssh2

    I'm getting a constant flow of these messages in my logs. The port is variable (seemingly between 1024 and 65535). I can simulate it myself by running sftp root@<my ip> I've commented out the sftp subsystem line in my sshd_config. These ports should be closed by provider's firewall. I don't understand: Why sftp would be selecting a random port like that. It seems to be behaving like FTP in passive mode, but I can't make any sense of why that would be. Why it can even hit my server in the first place if these ports are closed.
