  • WPF Binding to variable / DependencyProperty

    I'm playing around with WPF Binding and variables. Apparently one can only bind DependencyProperties. And the Button sets them to "AAA". But now I replaced the Setter function with the one that is commented out (simulating some manipulation of the given value). I would expect that whenever the property value is changed it will be reset to "BBB". It does so when you press the button, that is when you set the property in code. But it does for some reason not affect the WPF Bindings, that is you can change the TextBox contents and thus the property, but apparently the Setter is never called. I wonder why that is so, and how one would go about to achive the expected behaviour.

    I have two DIVs, #placeholder AND #imageLoad. When the user clicks on a particular thumb its larger version (thumb2) should then appear in #imageLoad DIV.   • Populating a Datagrid with variable number of columns and rows in Flex

    I am trying to figure out how to manage a Datagrid based on an XML object like this: <matrix rows="5" columns="5"> <column> <row>0.5</row> <row>0.21</row> </column> <column> <row>0.6</row> <row>0.9</row> </column> <column> <row>0.5</row> <row>0.5</row> </column> <column> <row>0.8</row> <row>0.4</row> </column> </matrix> I will need to populate the Datagrid column names based on a different XML object and use the above XML to populate each of the column's rows. I currently am able to create the Datagrid and populate its column headers but I am unsure as to how to how to add the rows for each column. The above XML will be update with new row and column elements added and deleted. This, of course, will be bound to the Datagrid to show updates. Thanks in advanced for your help.

    I have a number of classes that look like this: class Foo(val:BasicData) extends Bar(val) { val helper = new Helper(val) val derived1 = helper.getDerived1Value() val derived2 = helper.getDerived2Value() } ...except that I don't want to hold onto an instance of "helper" beyond the end of the constructor. In Java, I'd do something like this: public class Foo { final Derived derived1, derived2; public Foo(BasicData val) { Helper helper = new Helper(val); derived1 = helper.getDerived1Value(); derived2 = helper.getDerived2Value(); } } So how do I do something like that in Scala? I'm aware of creating a helper object of the same name of the class with an apply method: I was hoping for something slightly more succinct.

    I'm writing a script that needs to be called at a random time during the day, but am not sure how to accomplish this. I don't want to waste server resources to run a cron job every minute. I want the script to be called at random, so generating the random times for say a month in advance and then creating cron jobs for each of them isn't what I'm looking for. Now, in the commandName "newTicketSale" there is another parameter called userId. In the jsp file itself I need to insert value ${name} in userId, so that in the Controller file when I am doing @Valid @ModelAttribute("newTicketSale") MovieTicket newTicket I can retrieve the value ${name} when I am doing newTicket.getUserId().     I want to use a while loop to initialize class objects with a simple incremented naming convention. The goal is to be able to scale the number of class objects at will and have the program generate the names automatically. (ex. h1...h100...h1000...) Each h1,h2,h3... being its own instance. Here is my first attempt... have been unable to find a good example. class Korker(object): def __init__(self,ident,roo): self.ident = ident self.roo = roo b = 1 hwinit = 'h' hwstart = 0 while b <= 10: showit = 'h' + str(b) print(showit) #showit seems to generate just fine as demonstrated by print str(showit) == Korker("test",2) #this is the line that fails b += 1 The errors I get range from a string error to a cannot use function type error....     int main() { int *d=0; printf("%d\n",*d); return 0; } this works fine. >cc legal.c > ./a.out 0 if i change the statement int *d=0; to int *d=1; i see the error. cc: "legal.c", line 6: error 1522: Cannot initialize a pointer with an integer constant other than zero. so its obvious that it will allow only zero.i want to know what happens inside the memory when we do this int *d=0 which is making it valid syntax. I am just asking this out of curiosity!

    We are frequently using the following code pattern in our javascript code if(typeof(some_variable) != 'undefined' && some_variable != null) { // do something with some_variable } and I'm wondering whether there is a less verbose way of checking that has the same effect. According to some forums and literature saying simply if(some_variable) { // do something with some_variable } should have the same effect. Unfortunately, Firebug evaluates such a statement as error on runtime when some_variable is undefined, whereas the first one is just fine for him. Is this only an (unwanted) behavior of Firebug or is there really some difference between those two ways ?

    There is a Scenario to be developed for a 3-tier Application .We need to design a Framework or a utility sort of thing . In tradional aspect of GUI Designing , either we tend to create a static gui page and code the elements on it along with other properties of the elements such as (disabled/enabled,image source,name ,id ,which function to be called under onclick event.) or we tend to drag and drop the elements from the control pallete provided by variety of gui frameworks. Certain things i need to design a POC so that we can develop this concept. 1) There must a utility ,such that during creation of screen layout , that screen should be saved in the database(RDBMS) with a screen number. 2) All the Events related to that control should be saved in some other table which will be dynamically mapped during the calling of screen number by the user. 3) When the user call that screen ,a generic function should be invoked which'll call the screen file from the database and apply all the properties ,events,etc at runtime and the final output will be displayed to the user. This POC will help the us to customised the screens according to our usage.also all the code will seperated which can easily be used for some other development process. Thanks Amit Kalra

  • Access 2007: Dynamic SQL to be run when opening a report

    I'm trying to have some SQL execute when I open a report. This works fine when I try to match on a column that's an integer with an integer, but when I try to match on a "text" column, it keeps popping up a dialog asking for what you want to filter on. Here's a somple query: select person_phone_numbers.person_id from person_phone_numbers where phone_number = '444-444-4444' This is actually a sub-query I'm trying to use, but this is where the problem is. If I change it to this it works fine: select person_phone_numbers.person_id from person_phone_numbers where phone_id = 2 I put this in the OnOpen event and I'm assigning it to Me.RecordSource if that makes a difference. My goal here is to have a form accept query parameter(s) and have it open a report with the results. Any thoughts on why it wants to ask for a parameter vs. just running the query the way I have it?

    I would like to do this: tell application "Finder" to set appName to (application file id "com.google.Chrome") as text using terms from application appName tell application appName to get URL of active tab of first window end using terms from This doesn't work because "using terms from" requires an application name as a string constant. If i substitute this line: using terms from application appName with this one using terms from application "Google Chrome" it works. However I don't want to rely on the target machine having the application named "Google Chrome". Using the bundle identifiers seems safer. Is there a better way to do this?

It certainly loads the right amount of items as it says in the lower bar on safari but I see three small calendars and that is it. Can anyone see where I have made a mistake?
