    I'm inside a cfloop over a query. I want to get an attribute, but I won't know what that attribute will be until runtime. Using #qryResult[MyAttr]# fails with the error "Complex object types cannot be converted to simple values." What is the syntax for doing this? Here is a simplified example: <cfquery datasource="TestSource" name="qryResult"> SELECT * FROM MyTable </cfquery> <cfloop query="qryResult"> <cfset MyAttr="autoid" /> <cfoutput> Test 1: #qryResult.autoid# <br/> <!--- succeeds ---> Test 2: #qryResult[MyAttr]# <br/> <!--- fails ---> </cfoutput> </cfloop>

  • Ternary operators and variable reassignment in PHP

    I've perused the questions on ternary operators vs. if/else structures, and while I understand that under normal circumstances there is no performance loss/gain in using ternary operators over if/else structures, I've not seen any mention of this situation. Language specific to PHP (but any language agnostic details are welcome) does the interpreter reassign values in situations like this: $foo = 'bar' $foo = strlen($foo) > 3 ? substr($foo, 0, 3) : $foo; Since this would evaluate to $foo = $foo; is this inefficient, or does the interpreter simply overlook/discard this evaluation? On a side note, what about: !defined('SECURE') ? exit : null;

  • Best ways to construct Dynamic Search Conditions for Sql

    I have always wondered what's the best way to achieve this task. In most web based applications you have to provide search options on many different criteria. Based on what criteria is chosen behind the scene you modify your SQL. Generally, this is how I tend to go about it:- Have a base SQL template. In the base template have conditions like this WHERE [#PRE_COND1] AND [#PRE_COND2] .. so on and so forth. So an example SQL might look something like SELECT NAME,AGE FROM PERSONS [,#TABLE2] [,#TABLE3] WHERE [#PRE_COND1] AND [#PRE_COND2] ORDER BY [#ORD_COND1] AND [#ORD_COND2] etc. During run time after figuring out the all the search criteria user has entered, I replace the [#PRE_COND1]s and [#ORD_COND1]s with the appropriate SQLs and then execute the query. I personally do not like this brute force method. However, I never came across a better approach either. How do you accomplish such tasks generally given you are either using native JDBC or Spring JDBC? It is almost like I need a C MACRO like functionality in Java to do this.

    Hi all, This is my first post, and first please forgive me for my poor english. I have a problem I really can't fix: I have a <table> of questions, the first question is visible (class:visible), the others are hidden (class:hidden) $(document).ready(function(){ $('.hidden').hide(); When people click on the first question, I want the second question to appear (and the first question to turn to grey, using a 'done' class). $('.visible:not(.done)').click(function(){ $(this).addClass('done'); $('.hidden:first').toggle(500).removeClass('hidden').addClass('visible'); }) The first question is now done (class:done) and the 2nd question should be the only one to react to a click(), and so on... But it doesn't work: the other <tr> appear only when I click on the 1st <tr>. Can someone give me a hand on this problem ? Thank you.

    I'm writing a data driven WPF client. The client will typically pull data from a WCF service, which queries a SQL db, but I'd like the option to pull the data directly from SQL or other arbitrary data sources. I've come up with this design and would like to hear your opinion on whether it is the best design. First, we have some data object we'd like to extract from SQL. // The Data Object with a single property public class Customer { private string m_Name = string.Empty; public string Name { get { return m_Name; } set { m_Name = value;} } } Then I plan on using an interface which all data access layers should implement. Suppose one could also use an abstract class. Thoughts? // The interface with a single method interface ICustomerFacade { List<Customer> GetAll(); } One can create a SQL implementation. // Sql Implementation public class SqlCustomrFacade : ICustomerFacade { public List<Customer> GetAll() { // Query SQL db and return something useful // ... return new List<Customer>(); } } We can also create a WCF implementation. The problem with WCF is is that it doesn't use the same data object. It creates its own local version, so we would have to copy the details over somehow. I suppose one could use reflection to copy the values of similar fields across.     I'm attempting to inject an iframe from a content script. From the content script, post a message to the iframe, without much success. This is the closest I have got. Wasn't totally ideal but I do have it working now, I guess. iframe.php window.addEventListener("message", function(e) {alert("test");}); I am however able to do the reverse, talk to the parent script from the iframe.

    I have a series of PHP statements that I only want to run if javaScript is enabled. if($js_enabled == 'yes') { //Run a series of PHP statements } My problem is that I want to create that $js_enabled variable with javaScript. Therefore, if javaScript is enabled, the variable will be created and the PHP statements will be run, but if javaScript is not enabled, the variable will never be created and the PHP statements will not run. How can I create a variable with JavaScript that PHP can recognize?

    Hello, I am developing a library in C++ where users/programmer will extend a class BaseClass that has a method initArray. This method should be implemented by the user/programmer and it should normally initialize all elements of the array m_arr. Here is a snipplet, modified to this example: class BaseClass { public: BaseClass(int n) { m_arr = new double[n]; size = n; }; virtual ~BaseClass(); int size; double* m_arr; virtual int initArray(); }; Sometimes, the user/programmer implements a initArray that does not initialize some elements of m_arr. What I would like is to create a function in my library that checks if initArray did initialize all elements of m_arr. This function should be called by a sanity-check rutine at runtime. My question: is it possible to detect changes on this array? I can only think of initializing the array with some invalid values (like NaN or Inf), call initArray and check that all values have changed. Thanks for your ideas, David

But now I have to find a solution to get it work on a local file (file:///C:/xampp/htdocs/script/index.html) instead on a server. It only works in FF: $.getJSON('data2.json', function(data) { $.each(data.selection_form.entities, function(i,name){ ...do something }); }); Any ideas? A local webserver is not a solution.

    I have a particular report that I need help with. I have an assignment where we are looking for missing data for a particular date - the situation is that users are required to enter a begin and an end note for their shift and their shift is either a day shift or a night shift. So within a 24 hour period there should be a day begin note, day end note, evening begin note and an evening end note I have the command written to generate the required data for ONE DAY ONLY using a BeginDate parameter supplied by the user What I need is to allow the user to enter a date range (add another parameter EndDate), then evaluate the data entry (command) for each day. The parameter being passed in using the user's input is a date and in the Group Expert the user input is not an available field Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated!
