  • JavaScript Music Player with progress bar?

    - by pfunc
I am creating a little JavaScript music player that sits on the btottom of the page, a lot like streampad. But streampad uses a flash progress bar for the song and JavaScript for everything else and I am having a hard time finding anyone who does this with JavaScript alone. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how this can be done (preferably without using HTML5)?

  • Flex-Flash frontend for Wordpress

    - by user252160
We all know what Wordpress can do with a little bit of css goodness. I was wondering whether the idea could be extended even further and make a completely separate Flash/Flex frontend for a website, that uses Wordpress in the back. That would certainly be possible. I was just wondering whether its practical. Any progress on the topic ?

  • What is the best approach for unit testing/integration testing GXT code?

    - by Arizonahockey
I have been tasked to setup a continuous integration environment for a GXT 2.1.1 and GWT 2.0.1 environment. Unfortunately I am new to AJAX and Web Services and have little idea how to setup unit tests in the browser environment. Unit tests for the server backend I already have done, since I am a pro at that. GXT is not quite pure GWT which provides some unit testing structure. If anyone has a good starting point...

  • calling a stored postgres function from php

    - by KittyYoung
Just a little confused here... I have a function in postgres, and when I'm at the pg prompt, I just do: SELECT zp('zc',10,20,90); FETCH ALL FROM zc; I'm wondering how to do this from php? I thought I could just do: $q = pg_query("SELECT zp('zc',10,20,90)"); But, how do I "fetch" from that query?

  • ActionScript-3 calling addEventListener more than once

    - by mydiscogr
    I've a little problem, I don't really understand if I can use addEventListener more than one time on the same object (and same callback function) if this case can I have a problem of overflow, or simple flex is so smart to not add again in the same stack same function for examples: var t:CServiceObj = _rModel.userGetBoardJoined(); t.addEventListener(EDataService.DATA_AVAILABLE,onDataOk); t.addEventListener(EDataService.DATA_AVAILABLE,onDataOk); t.addEventListener(EDataService.DATA_AVAILABLE,onDataOk);

  • Getting a borderless window to receive mouseMoved events (Cocoa OSX)

    - by Michael Minerva
I have a little popup window used for selecting images sorted by groups, and I would like to add a selection box around whatever image is being hovered over. I am trying to this by overriding the mouseMoved event for the window but it seems that a window that has a border-less style mask receives no mouseMoved events even if you have set setAcceptsMouseMoved events to YES. Is there anyway to make a borderless window receive this events?

  • Scalability of Ruby on Rails versus PHP

    - by Daniel
Can anyone comment on which is more scalable between RoR and PHP? I have heard that RoR is less scalable than PHP since RoR has a little more overhead with its MVC framework while PHP is more low level and lighter. This is a bit vague - can anyone explain better?

  • Should I use a resource loader for a SPA, or front-load everything?

    - by Shango
I've been getting into Backbone.js lately and I'm enjoying it so far. All the examples tend to be simple to-do lists, so it's been a little difficult extrapolating code organization and file structure for a larger/more robust single page application. I've come to a crossroad: Should I use something like Yepnope.js to load models and views as I need them or, Combine and minify into fewer files and front-load it all. Some combination of both? Any advice would be appreciated!

  • Sending an int array through Winsocks

    - by seed
I'm trying to send an int array through Winsocks. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure only a char* is supported so I'm kind of stuck on how to do this properly. There are also problems with little/big edian, so what would be a good way to do this? I've already asked a question of converting int array to char but it was recommended to start a new thread on this in the networking section instead.

  • Detecting a stale Mutex

    - by sum1stolemyname
Is there any technique or tool available to detect this kind of a deadlock during runtime? picture this in a worker thread (one of several, normally 4-6) try WaitForSingleObject(myMutex); DoSTuffThatMightCauseAnException; Except ReleaseMutex(myMutex); end; or more generally is there a design-pattern to avoid these kind of bugs? I coded the above code in the little hous after a longer hacking run

  • Is there an easy way to stream a m3u in iPhone?

    - by marty
I can have a UIWebView with the .m3u file opened, which will go to the webview with a play button displayed, and that automatically goes to the quicktime player and starts playing the stream. But when I press the done button, it goes back to the UIWebView with a little play button in the middle, and from there you can go back to the previous screen (it was selected from a tableview). So I just want it to automatically load the quicktime player in the view. How can I do that?

  • Apache as Reverse Proxy for CouchDB

    - by Overflown
I'm thinking of a web app that uses CouchDB extensively, to the point where there would be great gains from serving with the native erlang HTTP API as much as possible. Can you configure Apache as a reverse proxy to allow outside GETs to be proxied directly to CouchDB, whereas PUT/POST are sent to the application internal logic (for sanitation, authentication...)? Or is this unwise -- the CouchDB built-in authentication options just seem a little weak for a Web App. Thanks

  • Are there any good books to learn C++ if you already know Java and C#

    - by JF LR
Hi, I would like to know if you have any good books that teach C++ programming without repeating basic stuff. In fact, I already well know Java and C#. I also have a basic knowledge in C and assembly, so I understand a little bit pointer arithmetic, manual memory management and heap based allocation. I was looking at O'Reilly's C++ in a Nutshell and was also wondering if this book would be a good choice. Thank you
