  Hello i guess i did something bad. i'm 150% new to dedicaced servers and i was editing the cfg file of putty. I didn't know how to save the file (:w and :q) so i quit putty. It crashed the file, i opened it again and saved it. but now, putty tells me : Access denied. How to fox that? :O Thanks,

• Cassandra on heterogeneous servers

  I am currently running 4 cassandra nodes with the following hardware in a Apache Cassandra cluster: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 8G RAM 750G hard disk It shows not such a good writing performance and a really bad read performance with sometimes also timeouts. I was wondering if it makes sense to add 2 nodes with a different hardware (8 CPUs and more RAM) to improve this. Or does a cassandra cluster works best with the same hardware in every node? • ubuntu 9.10 wireless problem

  I have a gateway NV74 with AR928X Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) on Ubuntu 9.10. Wireless doesn't work that well, the connection is bad, and system disconnects itself often. Also, sometimes the machine crashes, and I have to reboot the computer. Any idea please? Thanks

  Is it possible to use ntbackup.exe (Windows XP SP3, 32) with two incremental backup plans? An example: "My Documents": every day, incrementally to D:\My_Documents.bkf Drive C: every month, incrementally to D:\All.bkf As far as I understand it, ntbackup.exe marks files as having been backed up in the file system. Thus, two incremental backup plans would interfere in a bad way. So, I assume that the answer to my question is: No But maybe I'm wrong...

• Apache ignore my .htaccess 'dontlog' option

  I wrote .htaccess in file dir/subdir to don't log URI requests in this particular directory. The .htaccess is actually executed by apache (if i write deny from , it works), but if the file contains only this rule: SetEnvIf Request_URI "^dir/subdir" dontlog Don't work. AllowOverride All and mod_rewrite are enabled. What can be the problem? Sorry for my bad english.

Whole card is unusable (to trash, all data written to that sector now and in future will be lost) ? or rewrite sector (flash memory get corrupted when writing so maybe have any function to check if sector was written successfully) to another and mark as fault as unusable what will be seen as reduction of capacity but no data lost. I have to do some research about SD card-s on disk less machines. regards

  I want to record a keyboard/mouse macro for automatically playing repetitive flash games. The programs I'm familiar with xnee/gnee/pnee and xmacro don't work under Ubuntu 10.04. (Xnee gives "Xnee failed due to bad data received from RECORD extension" for version 3.02, which is a known issue which I haven't found a solution for, and xmacro just plain doesn't work...)   I receive email as part of a mailing list that also CC's other people. T-Bird defaults the toolbar button to Reply List instead of Reply All, which strips away the CC's.   Whenever I drag or resize a window near any edge or corner of either monitor, Windows wants to maximize or resize the window for me in several different ways: dragging a window near a corner offers resize to full-screen dragging directly to the corner offers half-screen maximize resizing to top or bottom edges offers a vertical maximize (one long strip from top to bottom) Actually, now that I think about it the 3rd one isn't so bad, its just the full and half-screen maximize features that drives me mad.
