    Is it possible to do something like public class PriorityQueue<TValue, TPriority=int> where TPriority : IComparable (note the =int) ? Before you suggest it, yes, I know I can just add another line: public class PriorityQueue<TValue> : PriorityQueue<TValue, int> { } But I'm wondering if it's possible to do it as a param.

    I have been looking around a lot but i simply can't find a nice solution to this... Point mouse = MouseInfo.getPointerInfo().getLocation(); int dx = (BULLET_SPEED*Math.abs(x - mouse.getX()))/ (Math.abs(y - mouse.getY()) + Math.abs(x - mouse.getX()))* (x - mouse.getX())/Math.abs(x - mouse.getX()); In this constellation i get: Possible loss of precision, when i change e.g (x - mouse.getX()) to (x - mouse.getX()).doubleValue() it says double cannot be dereferenced, when i add intValue() somewhere it says int cannot be dereferenced.   • Cannot change font size /type in plots

    I recently had to re-install my operating system (Ubuntu). The only thing I did differently is that I installed Matlab on a separate partition, not the main Ubuntu partition. After re-installing, the fonts in my plots are no longer configurable. For example, if I ask the title font to be bold, it doesn't happen. I ran the sample code below on my computer and then on my colleague's computer and the 2 results are attached. This cannot be a problem with the code; rather in the settings of Matlab. Could somebody please tell me what settings I need to change? Thanks in advance for your help.   • php regex guitar tab (tabs or tablature, a type of music notation)

    I am in the process of creating a guitar tab to rtttl (Ring Tone Text Transfer Language) converter in PHP. In order to prepare a guitar tab for rtttl conversion I first strip out all comments (comments noted by #- and ended with -#), I then have a few lines that set tempo, note the tunning and define multiple instruments (Tempo 120\nDefine Guitar 1\nDefine Bass 1, etc etc) which are stripped out of the tab and set aside for later use. Now I essentially have nothing left except the guitar tabs. Each tab is prefixed with it's instrument name in conjunction with the instrument name noted prior. Some times we have tabs for 2 separate instruments that are linked because they are to be played together, ie a Guitar and a Bass Guitar playing together. I am hoping that someone who does regular expressions could help me find a way to identify a single guitar tab and if possible also be able to match a tab with multiple instruments linked together. Once the tabs are in an array I will go through them one line at a time and convert them into rtttl lines (exploded at each new line "\n"). I do not want to separate the guitar tabs in the document via explode "\n\n" or something similar because it does not identify the guitar tab, rather, it is identifying the space between the tabs - not on the tabs themselves. I have been messing with this for about a week now and this is the only major hold up I have. Everything else is fairly simple. As of current, I have tried many variations of the regex pattern. Interface contains a few methods, one of them should return true if all elements of this set are also in the set.   • Rationale in selecting Hash Key type

    Guys, I have a data structure which has 25 distinct keys (integer) and a value. I have a list of these objects (say 50000) and I intend to use a hash table to store/retrieve them. I am planning to take one of these approaches. Create a integer hash from these 25 integer keys and store it on a hash table. (Yeah! I have some means to handle collisions) Make a string concatenation on the individual keys and use it as a hash key for the hash table. For example, if the key values are 1,2,4,6,7 then the hash key would be "12467". Assuming that I have a total of 50000 records each with 25 distinct keys and a value, then will my second approach be a overkill when it comes to the cost of string comparisons it needs to do to retrieve and insert a record? Some more information! Each bucket in the hash table is a balanced binary tree. I am using the boost library's hash_combine method to create the hash from the 25 keys.

I.e to check if really the Queue is initialised or not. It is. The right variables are stored etc. (I inserted a value in that Queue, that part of the code is not shown.) But the second WriteLine is not giving the right expected answer: It serializes the entire Queue to 00-00-00.

    I am populating a "Dictionary" with the results of an sp call. The key is the field name and the value is whatever value the sp returns for the field. This is all well and good but I'd like developers to have a predefined list of keys to access this list, for safety and documentation reasons. What I'd like to do is have something like an enum as a key for the dictionary so developers can safely access the list, but still have the ability to access the dictionary with a string key value. I am hoping to have a list of string values that I can access with an enum key AND a string key. Please make sure any suggestions are simple to implement, this is not the kind of thing I'm willing to build a lot of overhead to implement.
